1. WILL TRUMP RECOGNIZE JERUSALEM ALSO AS CAPITAL OF 'PALESTINE?'
by Arutz Sheva Staff
A senior Israeli political source estimates to a Yediot Aharonot reporter that if the results of the midterm elections in the US lead to a weakening of the Republicans, the pressure on US President Donald Trump to reach a political settlement between Israel and the PA will increase.
The Israeli concern, he says, includes the possibility that Jerusalem will be included in the American political proposal. This could mean defining "East Jerusalem" as the capital of a future Palestinian state parallel to the recognition already given to "West Jerusalem" as the capital of Israel.
"Trump wants a deal and he's very serious," says the source. "As far as the Americans are concerned, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is relatively easy to solve and is 'ripe fruit.'"
Netanyahu would not be able to agree to such a plan which includes Jerusalem, so he would likely seek to postpone publication until after the elections in Israel, so that the matter doesn't lead to a coalition crisis with his government partners. The Israeli goal is to leave the PA and Abbas in the position of the refuser, since Trump is expected to exert most of the pressure on the party which rejects his proposal.
According to Yediot Aharonot, the US ambassador to Israel, David Friedman, and other officials will work with the American president to prevent the publication of a plan that includes the inclusion of Jerusalem in the proposed political settlement.
2. 'YOU EXPECT A CHILD NOT TO PROTECT HIS PARENTS?'
by Hezki Baruch
Culture Minister Miri Regev referred to the postponement in evacuating the illegal Bedouin outpost Khan al-Ahmar on her way into this morning's cabinet meeting.
"I believe that just as the Prime Minister promised, this village will be evacuated. There's no reason why the village shouldn't be evacuated after the Supreme Court ruling," Regev said.
Regev estimated the government would approve the Cultural Faithfulness Law she seeks to promote, and rejected the description of the law to be brought to vote as a "softened version". "It's not a softened version, it's an excellent version. The law will draw a very clear line between freedom of expression and freedom of incitement. The time has come for cultural institutions to understand: Freedom of art - yes, freedom of expression - yes, freedom of incitement - absolutely not."
The Culture Minister also referred to the sharp exchanges between the son of the Prime Minister Yair Netanyahu and television host Ofira Asayag.
Regev said she would not have responded had the subject not been the Prime Minister's son: "Red lines were crossed. She has to be the responsible adult, what do you expect from a child whose parents are attacked all the time; who wouldn't protect his parents?"
Regev personally attacked Asayag and said, "Why talk about the Prime Minister's family? She's just a bad woman. Why talk about Sara Netanyahu? You want to criticize the Prime Minister? Excellent. Don't talk about the family."

3. DOCUMENTS PROVING YEMENITE IMMIGRANTS' PROPERTY THEFT REVEALED
by Mordechai Sones
Newspaper Yisrael Hayom today presents documents attesting to the theft of the Yemenite Jews' property after they immigrated to Israel in the 1950s.
Publication of the documents comes two days before a special Knesset committee session headed by Knesset Member Nurit Koren (Likud) to discuss the issue of the immigrants' property theft by government officials. This is so it will be possible to determine how the State will be able to compensate the immigrants.
The newspaper reports that among the many documents, for example, is a list of property belonging to immigrants who arrived on at least two ships - the Lutsa and Locke, proving that the property was transferred to Israel and was under Jewish Agency responsibility.
Additional documents attest to correspondence between various government authorities and family members who came to Jewish Agency offices demanding return of their property. For example, on September 11, 1950, Jewish Agency Yemenite Immigrants Absorption Department member Chaim Tzadok wrote to Yitzhak Raphael of the Jewish Agency Immigration Department: "From the beginning of the last immigration from Yemen ... immigrants come and complain about loss of their belongings, unable to determine where they were stolen ... At the same time, many objects belonging to immigrants that they weren't allowed to take were gathered in Hashad and Jewish Agency offices in Aden, with the promise that nothing would happen to the objects and that they'd reach the Land of Israel..."
Also appearing in the documents: "We now have people announcing that they find in a storeroom in Jaffa their bags and suitcases open, with many objects missing ... ... This affair requires, in my opinion, an investigation into what happened to the objects in Hashad and Aden ...This week I visited a warehouse in Jaffa ... There it was told to me that Foreign Ministry officials collect the important and valuable holy books (even when the owners names are written on them) into special boxes and move them away; I don't know if this is justified, that they take private books."
In a letter written by Foreign Affairs Minister Moshe Sharett to the Religious Affairs Minister on July 9, 1950, he warns that this is a treasure of historical value and demands that it be treated accordingly. "This is a ship that reached the shore of Eilat and unloaded 300 Torah scrolls from the Yemenite exile ... I have no doubt that the Religious Affairs Ministry is the only institution authorized to deal with this treasure and bring it to its proper resting place. It is presumed that there are ancient scrolls among the Torah scrolls worthy of special protection."
The newspaper quotes the remarks of Committee Chairwoman MK Koren, prior to the Committee's discussion: "It's not enough that they kidnapped the Yemenite immigrants' children - they also robbed them of their property. Torah scrolls and ancient religious objects and handmade gold jewelry hundreds of years old were distributed among state institutions at the time and were sold to merchants on the grounds that the objects had no owners - and they even set up committees to discuss how and if they'd return the property to the Yemenites. Those innocent Yemenites gave all their possessions because they believed the Jewish Agency and JDC officials who told them the plane couldn't take off with the weight of the property and that they'd receive everything in the country ... There was organized crime here under the auspices of the State."
The newspaper also quoted the Jewish Agency's response: "The issue is painful and it's important to clarify the truth. We have cooperated and we continue to cooperate fully with the Committee. We have provided all relevant information in our possession and will continue to cooperate fully in the future, as necessary." No response was received from the Hebrew University. The response of the Joint could not be obtained.

According to local police, the incident occurred early Sunday morning during a private party being held by a group who had rented out the clubhouse.
Clemson police chief Jimmy Dixon said that nobody was trapped under the debris from the collapse, but that 30 people had been transferred to local hospitals.
Police said they were as yet unaware of any life-threatening injuries.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
5. NETANYAHU EMPHASIZES: KHAN AL-AHMAR WILL BE EVACUATED
by Tal Polon
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu downplayed reports that he had delayed the evacuation of the illegal Bedouin outpost known as "Khan al-Ahmar."
On Saturday, sources in the Prime Minister's Office said that the government is holding off on demolishing Khan Al-Ahmar in order to "exhaust negotiations and proposals received from various sources, including some in the past few days."
The announcement came after International Criminal Court Chief Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda threatened that Israel could be prosecuted for war crimes if it goes ahead with the demolition. "Extensive destruction of property without military necessity and population transfers in an occupied territory constitute war crimes," she said.
She added, "I will not hesitate to take any appropriate action within the framework of my authority according to the Rome Statute" enabling the ICC to prosecute world leaders.
Speaking during a press briefing with US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, Netanyahu emphasized that the evacuation of the outpost was in accordance with court ruling, and asserted that it would only be postponed for a "set, short time."
"Khan al-Ahmar will be evacuated, this is the decision of the court, this is our policy, and it will also be implemented," he said.
"Contrary to reports, I have no intention of postponing this until further notice, but for a set, short time."
"The amount of time given for trying to evacuate it with agreement will be established by the cabinet. I will convene the cabinet today, we will establish [the amount of time], it will be short, and I also believe it will be with agreement."

6. REPORT: UNDERCOVER COMMANDOS NAB BARKAN ATTACK ACCOMPLICE
by Tzvi Lev
Arab media reports say that undercover commandos nabbed a key accomplice to the terrorist responsible for the deadly shooting attack in Barkan two weeks ago.
According to reports, a joint force made up of undercover Border Police commandos and the IDF arrested the accomplice in Shweikeh, an Arab town adjoining the city of Tulkarem
The suspect allegedly provided food and assisted Ashraf Walid Suleiman Na'alowa to avoid the massive manhunt after he killed two Israelis in Barkan.
The report comes as the IDF continues its extensive manhunt after Ashraf Walid Suleiman Na'alowa, who shot and killed Kim Levengrond-Yehezkel and Ziv Hajbi in the Barkan industrial zone earlier this month. Multiple of the terrorists family and audiences have been arrested amid the hunt for the perpetrator.
On Monday, the Israeli army announced its plans to demolish Naalwa's home in the PA-controlled town of Shweika in Samaria.
Notification of the demolition plans was given to Naalwa's relatives in Shweika, an IDF spokesperson said in a statement.
"Today, October 15th 2018, the family of the terrorist who murdered Ziv Hajbi and Kim Levengrond-Yehezkel in the deadly shooting attack in the Barkan industrial area was notified of the IDF's intention to demolish his residence," the statement read.
"The IDF will continue to operate to thwart terror attacks and deter potential terrorists."
7. LIVE: ARABS RIOT ON GAZA BORDER
by Arutz Sheva

Two Arabs were reportedly hurt by IDF fire Friday in the Khan Younes area, after Arabs began rioting along the border fence with Israel.
Last Friday, dozens of rioters vandalized and ignited fires on the Arab side of the Kerem Shalom humanitarian crossing in Gaza.
The IDF said that the rioters damaged gas pipelines that run from Israel to Gaza and benefit Gazan residents.
"This is the second time in recent days that rioters have harmed and attempted to sabotage humanitarian efforts that Israel and other countries carry out. Hamas is responsible for everything that happens in Gaza, above and below ground," said the IDF Spokesperson's Unit.
Earlier last Friday, approximately 15,000 Palestinian Arabs participated in riots along the Gaza border. The rioters hurled pipe bombs, rocks, and grenades, sabotaged security infrastructure, and burned tires.
8. TRUMP TO LEAVE NUCLEAR ARMS TREATY WITH RUSSIA
by Ben Ariel
US President Donald Trump announced Saturday that he would be pulling out of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty with Russia.
"Russia has violated the agreement. They've been violating it for many years," Trump told reporters before boarding Air Force One to leave Nevada following a campaign rally, according to CNN.
"And I don't know why President Obama didn't negotiate or pull out. And we're not going to let them violate a nuclear agreement and go out and do weapons and we're not allowed to. We're the ones that have stayed in the agreement and we've honored the agreement," he added.
"But Russia has not, unfortunately, honored the agreement. So we're going to terminate the agreement. We're gonna pull out," Trump said of the agreement, which was signed in December 1987 by former President Ronald Reagan and former USSR President Mikhail Gorbachev.
The Trump administration has said repeatedly that Russia has violated the treaty.
Administration officials believe the treaty has put the US at a disadvantage because China does not face any constraints on developing intermediate-range nuclear missiles in the Pacific and does not allow the US to develop new weapons.
According to CNN, National Security Adviser John Bolton is expected to discuss the treaty with Russian officials on his trip next week.
In March, the State Department accused Russia of developing destabilizing nuclear weapons in violation of its treaty obligations, after Russian President Vladimir Putin unveiled a new array of nuclear weapons.
State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said Putin's speech showed Russia had violated its obligations under the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces treaty.
She also criticized an animated video played during his remarks, saying it appeared to depict an attack on the United States.
In the speech, Putin revealed that his country had tested new nuclear weapons at the end of 2017 and said Russia tested "a new intercontinental ballistic missile that can reach any point in the world."
"Russia has a missile of a kind that no country can intercept," he added.
