1. THE NEW RIGHT'S PROPOSAL TO UNITE THE RIGHT
by Arutz Sheva Staff

The leaders of the New Right party unveiled Monday an official proposal for the unification of the right-wing parties under the title, "Let's unite today!"

The Offer Details:

1. The union will be implemented as a "technical bloc". After the elections, the two parties will operate independently.
2. Full equality in the list,
3. The management of a shared election campaign.
4. At the top of the bloc will be the one who will bring the most seats: Ayelet Shaked.

The leaders of the New Right handed their proposal to the heads of the United Right and waited for an answer.

"We can close the union within 10 minutes, and we are waiting to hear from Rabbi Peretz and Bezalel Smotrich in order to close this week, in order to advance in the general election campaign," the party said.

2. AYELET SHAKED MEETS WITH RAFI PERETZ
by Hezki Baruch

Jewish Home Chair Minister Rafi Peretz and New Right Chair, former Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked met this morning, Tuesday, with the aim of advancing party unification.

"The meeting was good and helpful, and the two agreed that their negotiating teams would move forward in the coming days," it was stated.

Yesterday, Rabbi Peretz said he believes that all the right-wing parties will act responsibly. "We have a responsibility for the entire Right-leaning bloc. The Jewish Home Party has always been united, and this time we'll do the same. I'll meet with Ayelet Shaked as soon as possible, and there's no doubt that together we'll find a way to unify the forces together while preserving the image of religious Zionism," said Rabbi Peretz.

He called on all Right-leaning parties: "I call on all the partners on the Right, including members of Otzma Yehudit, to sit down for negotiations and close. We mustn't relate to the background noises all around, it's time to show responsibility for the Rightist government. We'll make a great effort to combine forces while preserving the image of the religious Zionist movement and the continuation of the centrality of Jewish Home in the emerging list of Right-leaning parties."

According to him, any discussion regarding recommending a Prime Minister or candidate other than Netanyahu is superfluous: "Any other support or any other idea could lead to a Left-wing government that would leave religious Zionism outside and we won't let that happen."

How would Jewish Home fit into a future union? "There's a party, there's a movement that represents values and ideals, and it must be represented properly. The movement has existed for 130 years, it's gone through difficult crises, it's been able to get on its feet and be rehabilitated. Parties rise and fall, but we're here - it will have to be reflected in the Knesset list. This isn't a personal matter, it's a matter of values, not giving up the ability to consolidate all the religious Zionist voters around us," concluded Rabbi Peretz.

3. EUROPEAN UNION DEMANDS ISRAEL HALT DEMOLITION OF ILLEGAL HOMES
by David Rosenberg

The European Union formally condemned the demolition of illegal Arab apartment buildings near Israel's security barrier separating Jerusalem from Palestinian Authority-controlled areas, and demanded Israel halt its enforcement of demolition orders.

In a statement issued Monday afternoon, the European Union's foreign affairs department said the demolitions undermine the "viability of the two-state solution".

"Israeli authorities have proceeded with the demolition of 10 Palestinian buildings, containing some 70 apartments, in Wadi al Hummus, part of Sur Baher neighbourhood in occupied East Jerusalem. The majority of the buildings are located in Area A and B of the West Bank where, according to the Oslo Accords, all civil issues are under the jurisdiction of the Palestinian Authority," the EU said.

"Israel's settlement policy, including actions taken in that context, such as forced transfers, evictions, demolitions and confiscations of homes, is illegal under international law. In line with the EU's long-standing position, we expect the Israeli authorities to immediately halt the ongoing demolitions."

"The continuation of this policy undermines the viability of the two-state solution and the prospect for a lasting peace and seriously jeopardizes the possibility of Jerusalem serving as the future capital of both States."

Earlier on Monday, Public Security Minister, Gilad Erdan (Likud) defended the demolition of illegal Arab apartment buildings on the southeastern fringe of Jerusalem Monday morning, saying the structures were built too close to the security barrier, and could be used as a haven for terrorists.

"The demolition of the illegal and mostly uninhabited buildings which takes place today at ‎Wadi al-Hummus in the village of Sur Baher, Jerusalem, was approved by the Israeli High Court of Justice," said Erdan in a statement Monday morning, "which ruled that the illegal construction constitutes a severe security threat and can provide cover to suicide bombers and other terrorists hiding among civilian population and endanger the lives of civilians and security forces alike."

"The court also ruled unequivocally that those who built houses in the area of the security fence, knew that building in that area was prohibited, and took the law into their own hands."

Israeli forces sealed off and began demolishing ten of the over 100 illegally-built structures erected in defiance of a 2011 Israeli Civil Administration order barring construction near the security fence.

The apartment buildings were built in the Wadi al-Hummus neighborhood of Sur Baher, an Arab enclave located almost entirely in Jerusalem.

The strip of land in Wadi al-Hummus area where the illegal structures are located, however, is just outside of the municipal borders of Jerusalem, but on the Jerusalem side of the security fence.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's spokesman Ofir Gendelman said in a social media post Monday that the demolitions were ordered in light of the "hundreds" of security incidents in the area last year.

"During the last year there were hundreds of security incidents and thousands of attempts by Palestinians to infiltrate our territory, some of them to carry out terrorist operations," he tweeted.

4. UK'S NEXT PM? BORIS JOHNSON EXPECTED TO WIN TORY VOTE TUESDAY
by David Rosenberg

The UK's ruling Conservative party is slated to announce the winner of its seven-week internal leadership election on Tuesday, effectively naming outgoing Prime Minister Theresa May's successor, and Britain's next premier.

The announcement is slated for 11:45 a.m. local time (1:45 p.m. Jerusalem time), with MP Boris Johnson widely expected to defeat long-shot candidate MP Jeremy Hunt.

The American-born Johnson, a former Mayor of London and ex-foreign affairs minister, was an early and vocal supporter of the Brexit bid to pull the UK out of the European Union, and actively campaigned on behalf of "Leave" from 2015 to 2016 ahead of the referendum vote.

Johnson has called for the UK to complete its withdrawal from the European Union by the end of October 2019 – with or without a deal settling the details of Britain's future relationship with the EU, what has been called a "no-deal Brexit".

Opposing Johnson is his successor in the foreign office, the incumbent foreign affairs minister Jeremy Hunt.

Hunt has refused to commit to pulling out of the EU in 2019, saying he would favor completing a deal with the EU even if it would require a "few more parliamentary days" beyond the current October 31st deadline.

But Hunt has also tried to reassure Brexiteers within the Conservative party that if there does not appear to be a viable path to a deal which can be accepted by both the EU and the British Parliament, he is prepared to pursue a "no-deal Brexit".

Incumbent Prime Minister Theresa May announced her resignation as premier on May 24th, after Parliament repeatedly voted down Brexit deals with the EU.

One-hundred-and-sixty thousand Conservative party members were subsequently called upon to select a new party chief – and new premier – in a seven-week voting period which ended on Monday.

After the winner is announced Tuesday, May is expected to hold her final consultations with Parliament before submitting her formal resignation to the Queen on Wednesday.

5. MOSSAD EXPOSES HEZBOLLAH TERRORIST IN UGANDA
by Arutz Sheva Staff

Israel's Mossad intelligence agency aided in the uncovering and arrest of a Lebanese terrorist operating in Uganda recently, Ugandan media reported Monday night.

Hussein Mahmood Yassine, an undercover agent working for the Iranian-linked terrorist group Hezbollah, was arrested on July 7th by a Ugandan security team at Entebbe International Airport, the Kampala Post reported.

Yassine, who had worked in Uganda since 2010, was held incommunicado, the Post reported, drawing protest from the Lebanese government.

The report claimed that Israel's Mossad intelligence agency worked in conjunction with Uganda's security establishment to arrest Yassine and dismantle the terrorist network he had worked to establish.

Yassine was arrested at Entebbe Airport hours after he had returned from a visit to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and just before he was scheduled to fly to Beirut.

The Hezbollah agent, who has been linked to senior Hezbollah terrorist Ali Wahib Hussein (also known as Abu Jihad) had reportedly been scouting out Israeli and American targets for potential terror attacks in Africa. Yassine had also built a network of spies and terrorist recruits for future attacks.

Yassine is said to have identified over 100 Lebanese nationals in Uganda he believed could be used in future Hezbollah operations.

Months prior to his arrest, Israel's Mossad tipped off Uganda's security establishment, which monitored Yassine before the arrest operation at Entebbe Airport.

6. HAREDI MK: REQUIRE DRIVERS TO INSTALL WARNING SYSTEMS
by Arutz Sheva Staff

UTJ MK Uri Maklev on Monday requested that Transportation Minister Bezalel Smotrich (United Right) change Israel's policies and require the use of technological devices to prevent children from being forgotten in vehicles.

"I turn to you, after the tragic incident in which an infant was left in a vehicle," Maklev wrote. "As you now, we have held numerous discussions and activities on the topic of forgetting children. Unfortunately most of our conclusions have still not been implemented or led to a legal and practical result in the field."

"1. It has been agreed that the Ministry of Transportation will be the central platform and will provide financial incentives to bring about a change and the implementation of relevant technologies, so that developers and manufacturers involved in the field of warnings will be able to advance their marketing to the entire public. As far as I know, these actions were not actually implemented and there is no information about business companies which market these products.

"2. In previous years the Transportation Ministry actively publicized the issue on various media in order to raise public awareness of the issue and to prevent these types of situations from recurring in the future. This must be restarted urgently.

"3. I call on you to change the Transportation Ministry's policy and reevaluate a change in the transportation regulations, so that every driver who drives young children will be required to install a system to prevent children from being forgotten, similar to the existing law regarding school transportation.

"In light of the importance and urgency of the matter, I call on you to adopt and implement these points immediately. I call on you to change the Transportation Ministry's policies and reexamine changing transportation regulations, so that every driver transporting children will install a system to prevent forgetting children. In light of the urgency of the situation, I call on you to adopt these policies immediately."

7. PA: HOME DEMOLITIONS IN JERUSALEM ARE 'A MASSACRE'
by Dalit Halevi

The Palestinian Authority (PA) on Monday condemned the demolition by IDF forces of the illegal structures in Wadi al Hummus in the Sur Baher neighborhood in eastern Jerusalem.

"This is a crime of ethnic cleansing carried out by the Israeli occupation authorities on Monday morning against 16 buildings containing nearly 10 housing units in Wadi al-Hummus in the village of Sur Baher, south of the occupied city of Al-Quds," the PA said.

The office of PA chairman Mahmoud Abbas called on the international community "to take responsibility and provide international protection to the Palestinian people and to bring to justice the leaders of the occupation for their crimes."

An official statement said that "this is a process that is being carried out as part of the implementation of the 'Deal of the Century' which aims to eliminate the Palestinian issue."

"This is an Israeli massacre, and the chairman of the Palestinian Authority has already contacted a number of international elements to intervene immediately and bring an end to Israeli aggression," the statement said.

Israeli forces on Monday morning sealed off and began demolishing ten of the over 100 illegally-built structures erected in defiance of a 2011 Israeli Civil Administration order barring construction near the security fence.

The European Union formally condemned Israel for the demolition of the illegal Arab buildings, saying said the demolitions undermine the "viability of the two-state solution".

Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan defended the demolition of the illegal Arab apartment buildings, saying the structures were built too close to the security barrier, and could be used as a haven for terrorists.

8. 'COME TO NEGOTIATIONS WITHOUT PRECONDITIONS'
by Yoni Kempinski

Transportation Minister Betzalel Smotrich called on Monday for New Right Chairwoman Ayelet Shaked to enter into accelerated negotiations for a joint run with the Right-leaning parties.

"I congratulate Ayelet Shaked on her appointment as head of the New Right. This is a right move because Ayelet throughout the entire period has been broadcasting that she wants to go together. Naftali, it's no secret, spoke the entire time about thoughts or wishes to go separately and repeated those statements that were the basis for the establishment of the New Right, which began with 14 seats and ended below the threshold," Smotrich said.

He added that "my expectation of Ayelet is not to make do with talking, but to go ahead with actions. We're in the 90th minute, we have to gather in a room and put everything on the table.

"We have already conducted complex and complicated negotiations, and there is no issue that cannot be solved. Solutions can be found that will allow everyone to feel at home and be part. Each side will have to make concessions and not negotiate at press conferences or briefings. I shouldn't hear about the demands through the media. I'm sure that if we sit down and talk, within a few hours we'll come out with a smile, a handshake, and a decision to run together, and on a value statement. Everyone should come willingly, without preconditions, and with no ultimatums."

Smotrich notes that preconditions will only lead to failure: "I don't want to accept any starting positions and no preconditions: Anyone who wants to obstruct negotiations sets preconditions through the media, and whoever wants to make a real connection comes to the room and puts things on the table with openness and good faith."

He adds that the public is waiting for this unity. "What will bring us more seats is the good news that transcends the past and the political interests of everyone. We'll do what the public expects - we'll go together. Nothing could harm our future seats more than to fight now over pettiness."
