1. PUTIN: OUR SOLDIERS FOUND ZACHARY BAUMEL'S REMAINS
by Nitzan Keidar

Russian President Vladimir Putin said Thursday at the start of his meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that "as you know, it was our military personnel who located missing IDF soldier Zachary Baumel's grave in coordination with the Syrian army."

Netanyahu replied, "Two years ago, I turned to you with a personal request that you help us find the remains of the soldiers, including Zachary Baumel's, and you responded immediately."

"You have done outstanding work and even endangered Russian soldiers for this purpose. I want to thank you, in my name and that of the people of Israel, for what you did, and for the courageous friendship. it is important to us and our relationship," added Netanyahu.

Baumel had gone missing during the Battle of Sultan Yaqub in the 1982 Lebanon War. After 37 years, it was announced yesterday that his remains had been brought back to Israel.

2. NETANYAHU: CONQUERING GAZA 'STILL ON THE TABLE'
by Tal Polon

Prime Minister Netanyahu explained in an interview on Thursday morning with Kan why he has never given the order to defeat Hamas since the terror group took power in the Gaza Strip in 2007.

"We have done much in Gaza, but we haven't done one thing: We haven't conquered it, because then we would either have to hold onto it and take 2 million Palestinians under our control, or give it to someone else."

Netanyahu related that his efforts to achieve the latter scenario proved unsuccessful.

"I spoke with many Arab leaders about the possibility [of taking control of Gaza], but nobody volunteered and followed through with it.

"I hoped that someone would take it, but nobody wanted it," he explained. "So what we did since then was to strike them. After all, you can't enter diplomatic negotiations with someone who wants to destroy you."

Still, Netanyahu asserted that "All options, including entering and conquering Gaza, are on the table, in accordance with what is good for the state of Israel," noting that the IDF is now "encircling Gaza with great power."

He emphasized, however, that he won't embark on "unnecessary wars," and that he would only order a war in Gaza after all other options have been exhausted.

"I don't know if we will succeed in reaching long-term quiet, but I do know one thing: I do not embark on unnecessary wars. I exert the force that is needed, and I am willing to pay the price, but only when it is needed. Indeed, I am ready to pay the political price [for not going to war] when it is not needed."

"I want every mother and father to know that I don't send their children into war before we have exhausted all other options.

"It could be that we will be forced to embark on an extended military campaign in Gaza," he said. "The forces are in place, but that is the last option, not the first."

3. REPORT: 'DEAL OF THE CENTURY' TO BE PRESENTED ON MAY 15
by Yehonatan Gottlieb

The Arab website Al-Khaleej Online reported Thursday that US President Donald Trump is expected to present his "Deal of the Century" on May 15.

This date is also the date on which the Arabs in Israel mark the so-called "catastrophe" of the establishment of the state as "Palestinian Nakba Day." According to the report, Trump has completed all preparations for the deal, including approvals for funding from other Arab countries to ensure the economic side of the deal.

According to estimates, the Arab countries that will be partners in the deal are Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and even the United Arab Emirates.

A senior Hamas official said that "setting the date of the declaration on the anniversary of the Nakba is a slap in the face to all those who still see America as a fair mediator in resolving the conflict."

Arab commentators and officials warn their peoples that Trump's deal will be the "elimination of the Palestinian dream" and will include an Arab "concession" of territories for the benefit of the State of Israel.

As reported by Arutz Sheva, it is estimated that the deal includes land swaps between Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Egypt and economic aid to Palestinians by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

The deal also includes a plan to lay a pipeline from Saudi Arabia to the Gaza Strip and to build refineries in Gaza to add jobs for the residents and, in the future, even the construction of desalination plants.

According to a draft agreement that was revealed in the book "Kushner Inc," during the deal, Jordan will give land to the Palestinians, and in return it will receive territory from Saudi Arabia. Egypt will return to Saudi Arabia two islands in the Red Sea which the latter gave to Egyptian administration in 1950.

In the midst of security tensions and two hours after yesterday's attack, Israel supporters from the Netherlands arrived in Hevron to show support for the Jewish community and IDF soldiers.

During the visit, supporters distributed gift baskets to soldiers as a token of appreciation for their activities.

The support tour was organized by Lev HaOlam Director Attorney Nati Rom, who fights the boycott against Israel and operates in 55 countries around the world.

Attorney Nati Rom said: "The press likes to tell us about political isolation and Israel's worst situation in the world. This group, like many others, attests to over a thousand articles claiming otherwise: That Israel has many supporters in the world who will stand by us even if we apply Jewish sovereignty throughout the Land of Israel."

During the tour, the supporters were amazed to learn that the Cave of Machpelah, purchased in full by the Partiarch Abraham, was closed to Jews because of a Muslim holiday.

5. POLL: RIGHT-WING BLOC STRENGTHENS
by Arutz Sheva Staff

A new poll published by Haaretz revealed that if the elections had been held today, the Likud would have defeated the Blue and White party by multiple seats.

According to the poll, which was conducted by pollster Camille Fuchs, if the elections were held today the Likud party would receive 30 mandates while the Blue and White party would receive 27 seats, three seats less.

The survey further showed that the Labour party would receive ten Knesset seats while the United Right and Hadash-Ta'al lists would receive seven seats each.

United Torah Judaism would receive six seats while the New Right, Kulanu, Shas, Zehut, and Meretz would receive five seats each.

Yisrael Beyteinu and the United Arab List-Balad would receive four seats each.

The poll showed the right-wing bloc strengthening to 67 seats while the leftist bloc receives only 53 Knesset seats. Under this scenario the right would still win the elections even if one of the smaller right-wing parties failed to clear the electoral threshold.

The Haaretz poll showed very different results compared to another poll conducted by the Panels Politics for Walla! which predicts that if the elections were held today, the right-wing bloc would get 62 seats in the next Knesset and the center-left bloc 58.

The poll shows a strengthening of the left-wing bloc compared to a poll conducted by the institute last week, in which the gap was more significant: 68 for the right-wing bloc and 52 for the center-left bloc.

According to the data, the Blue and White Party wins 30 seats and remains the leader in the race. Trailing by a small gap, the Likud Party receives 29 seats.

The Labor Party follows by a wide margin with 10 seats and the United Right with 7.

The New Right, United Torah Judaism and Meretz win 6 seats each.

They are followed by the Shas party with 5 seats, Zehut with 5 and Yisrael Beytenu with 4.

The Arab parties are gaining strength - Hadash-Ta'al receives 8 Knesset seats and Ra'am-Balad 4 in the

Kulanu and Gesher, according to the data, do not pass the electoral threshold.

Thirty-seven years after the Battle of Sultan Yaqub during the Lebanon War, the body of one of the MIA IDF soldiers has been returned to Israel.

A special team of the IDF headed by the head of the manpower division, Major General Moti Almoz, informed the Baumel family Wednesday that the body of their loved one, Sergeant Zachary Baumel, who has been missing since the battle of Sultan Yaqub in the summer of 1982, was found, brought to Israel and identified.

Sergeant Baumel was clearly identified at the Institute of Forensic Medicine at Abu Kabir, as well as by the Chief Military Rabbi, Brigadier General Eyal Krim.

The IDF Spokesperson stated that "the IDF is committed to continuing efforts to locate [other MIAs from the Battle of Sultan Yaqub] Sergeant Major Yehuda Katz, Sergeant Tzvika Feldman and all the missing IDF soldiers whose burial place is unknown. The Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Aviv Kochavi, IDF commanders and soldiers, embrace all the families, including families Baumel, Feldman and Katz in these complex moments."

Details of the funeral ceremony will also be given when decided.

Zachary Baumel immigrated with his parents to Israel from Brooklyn, New York in 1970, later joining a Hesder military unit combining combat service with yeshiva study.

He had nearly completed his service when he was called up to serve in the Lebanon War. On June 11, 1982, he was sent into battle with his comrades near the Lebanese village of Sultan Yaqub.

At least 20 Israelis were killed in the battle and 30 wounded, with 3 MIAs: Baumel and fellow soldiers Tzvi Feldman and Yehuda Katz, who are still missing.

After Zachary went missing, his parents, Miriam and Yonah, traveled the world seeking any information they could find about their son, eventually becoming an address for the parents of other MIAs seeking help in the search for their own children.

Zachary's father, Yonah, passed away 7 years ago. His mother is now in her eighties and lives close to his sister, Osnat.

7. IRAN COMMITS 'MAJOR CYBER ASSAULT' ON UK INFRASTRUCTURE
by Mordechai Sones

Sky News reports Iran committed a wave of cyber attacks targeting key parts of Britain's national infrastructure in a major assault last December.

The report says private sector companies, including banks, were also compromised in what they describe as an "ongoing" campaign.

The National Cyber Security Centre said it was "aware of a cyber incident affecting some UK organisations in late 2018" and that it was "working with victims and advising on mitigation measures".

Analysis by cyber security experts cited by Sky concluded that a group connected to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard was responsible for this attack and an attack on the parliamentary network in 2017.

Sky says the mobile phone numbers of at least 10 peers and MPs were among the compromised data.

Jewish Home Chairman Rabbi Rafi Peretz, who leads the United Right party's joint list, responded Wednesday morning to the attempted stabbing attack in Samaria.

In the attack, a terrorist attempted to stab a young girl However, the girl's father, who was driving her to school at the time of the attempted attack, shot the would-be terrorist, neutralizing him.

No injuries were reported among Israeli civilians or security personnel.

"The terror attack and attempted murder of a Jewish family this morning in Samaria is the direct result of Israel's policy of accepting ongoing terror," Rabbi Peretz said.

"The father's immediate response...saved lives and sends a clear message: We're here to stay. Anyone who tries to murder Jews is a dead man. It's time to move from acceptance to attack, from avoidance to sovereignty."
