1. IDENTITY REVEALED OF JERUSALEM TEEN FOUND BRUTALLY MURDERED
by David Rosenberg
The 19-year-old victim found brutally murdered in a Jerusalem forest Thursday night has been identified as Ori Ansbacher.
Ansbacher, whose family lives in Tekoa, had been residing in Jerusalem in an apartment she rented with several friends. She was serving in a civilian national service program in place of military service.
The Tekoa native was found in the Ein Yael forest near the Biblical Zoo in Jerusalem Thursday night, after she had been declared missing at 11:00 a.m. that morning. Her remains were found stripped naked, with signs of extreme violence. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Ansbacher will be laid to rest at 1:30 p.m. Friday afternoon at the Tekoa cemetery.
Investigators and security officials swarmed the site Friday morning where Ansbacher's remains had been discovered.
While several Palestinian Arab suspects had been detained for questioning, they were quickly freed.
Police say they are investigating all possible directions in the case, including both criminal and terrorist motives.

3. 'SHE WAS A SENSITIVE SOUL, WANTED TO MAKE THE WORLD BETTER'
by David Rosenberg
A large force of more than four dozen investigators and security personnel were dispatched to Ein Yael in Jerusalem, near the Biblical Zoo, Friday morning, as the investigation into the death of a 19-year-old national service enlistee continues.
Thursday night, a 19-year-old woman was found dead in a forest at Ein Yael, near the Biblical Zoo. Her body had been stripped naked, and there signs of extreme violence on the body. Emergency first responders declared the victim dead at the scene.
Several Arab suspects were detained for questioning, only to be freed shortly thereafter.
On Friday, some 50 investigators and security personnel from the Israel Police, Shin Bet internal security agency, IDF, and Border Police were dispatched to the site where the woman's body was found.
The victim, who was serving in a civilian national service program – popular with young women from the national religious community who seek a government recognized alternative to military service – had been living with friends in an apartment in central Jerusalem.
Her remains were found Thursday evening, after she had been declared missing at approximately 11:00 a.m. that morning.
Despite the initial arrest of several Palestinian Arab suspects, authorities now say the investigation is exploring all possibilities, and they have not ruled out either terrorism or criminal motives.
The victim's parents mourned the death of their daughter, calling her a "sensitive soul" with an enormous capacity for giving.
"She was a holy soul who sought meaning, a sensitive soul towards every person and creature, and with an endless desire to help make the world a better place."
A teacher who taught the victim in high school also eulogized her, Yediot Ahronot reported.
"She was a smart girl, honest, with an original, creative, and open-minded way of looking at things. She was very much loved by those around her, and she was very sensitive to others."
At the time of this writing, the identity of the victim has not yet been cleared for publication.

4. RUSSIA: WE WON'T MOVE EMBASSY TO JERUSALEM
by David Rosenberg
The Russian government will not be moving its embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, Russia's ambassador said Thursday night, despite signals from Moscow that Russia has shifted its stance on the Israeli capital.
In 2017, Russia's foreign ministry explicitly recognized the western portion of Jerusalem as Israel's capital city.
"We view West Jerusalem as the capital of Israel," the Foreign Ministry in Moscow said in a statement.
Hitherto, Russia had not recognized Jerusalem as the capital of the Jewish state, and like most countries, maintained an embassy in the coastal city of Tel Aviv.
Last year, following the opening of the new US embassy in Jerusalem, Russia's mission to Israel held its annual "National Day" celebration in Jerusalem, rather than in Tel Aviv for the first time ever.
Despite these moves, however, on Thursday, Russian ambassador to Israel Anatoly Viktorov told the Russian TASS outlet that his government would not be relocating its embassy to Jerusalem.
"The issue of transferring the Russian embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem is outside the agenda. Russia is committed to the international legal framework concerning Jerusalem, including corresponding United Nations Security Council resolutions," Viktorov said.
The US, Paraguay, and Guatemala relocated their embassies to Jerusalem in 2017, though Paraguay later transferred its embassy back to Tel Aviv, after a change in administration in the Paraguayan government.
A number of countries, including Australia, Brazil, and the Czech Republic have suggested they may also move their embassies to the Israeli capital city.
5. POLL: DISUNITY ON THE ISRAELI RIGHT COULD COST IT THE ELECTION
by Arutz Sheva Staff
The Israeli right could potentially win this year's Knesset election and still lose power, a new poll released Friday morning shows.
According to the survey, conducted by the Maagar Mohot polling firm on behalf of Israel Hayom and i24NEWS, current coalition partners in the Likud-led government, along with other right-wing factions, could cost the right-wing and religious bloc a total of 17 mandates if no new alliances are formed.
To enter the Knesset, a party list must get at least 3.25% of all valid votes, or approximately 140,000 to 145,000, given projections of likely voter turnout.
Any party which fails to receive more than 3.25% of the vote is denied representation in the Knesset – even if it received enough votes for one, two, or even three seats.
In 2015, a joint list of the Yahad party, led by former Interior Minister Eli Yishai, and the right-wing Otzma Yehudit party, narrowly failed to cross the threshold, receiving 2.97% of the vote.
The new Maagar Mohot poll shows a large number of parties which currently enjoy Knesset representation failing to cross the threshold.
If new elections were held today, the Likud would remain the largest faction, with 29 seats, followed by former IDF Chief of Staff Benny Gantz's Israel Resilience Party with 17.
Yesh Atid comes in a distant third with 11 seats, followed by the predominantly Arab Joint List with 9 mandates.
Both the New Right, led by Naftali Bennett, and the United Torah Judaism party would receive seven seats, while the far-left Meretz would rise from five seats to six. Shas would fall from seven to just five seats, its poorest showing in decades.
The Labor party, which has declined steadily in the polls over the past year, would barely cross the threshold, winning just four seats. In 2015, a joint list of Labor and the smaller Hatnuah faction won 24 seats. Today, Hatnuah is projected to win enough votes for a single seat – but would fail to cross the threshold.
In addition, the Arab nationalist faction Ta'al, led by former Arafat adviser MK Ahmed Tibi, would narrowly fail to clear the threshold, receiving votes equivalent to three seats.
The right and center-right would suffer greater net losses from parties failing to cross the electoral threshold, however.
Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon's Kulanu party, which won 10 seats in 2015, would plummet to just 3 if new elections were held today – and fail to cross the threshold.
In addition, former Defense Minister Avidgor Liberman's Yisrael Beytenu party, which won six seats in 2015, would fall to just three mandates, and also fail to cross the threshold.
If the Jewish Home and National Union lists, which ran together in 2013 and 2015, fail to reach an agreement for a joint run, each faction would receive enough votes for just two seats apiece – and fail to enter the Knesset.
The right-wing Otzma Yehudit, led by former Kach party activists Michael Ben-Ari and Baruch Marzel, would receive enough votes for three seats, but fail to cross the threshold, while Eli Yishai's Yahad would receive votes equivalent to two seats.
Moshe Feiglin's Zehut would also receive enough votes for two seats.
In total, the right-wing and religious bloc would win the 64 seats, including those parties which fail to cross the threshold. A total of 17 of those mandates would go to parties which fail to cross the threshold, however, compared to just 4 mandates going to left-wing or Arab factions which fail to cross the threshold.
Votes for parties which fail to cross the threshold are divided up among the factions which do cross the threshold, in proportion to their overall share of the vote, thus benefitting larger factions more.
With the second and third largest parties being Israel Resilience and Yesh Atid, the right-wing would likely lose its majority in the Knesset – despite receiving the majority of the vote.

Two horses were filmed galloping down Route 44 near Tzrifin and the Assaf Harofeh Hospital. The incident was caught on cameras belonging to the Netivei Israel company.
Police cars were mobilized to evacuate the frightened horses from the road toward the nearby fields.
"This type of incident constitutes an immediate danger to the road's users, as injury to an animal of this magnitude could be fatal on a high-speed road," said Li Valencia, head of control at the Netivei Israel National Movement's management center.
"As soon as the incident was monitored, we rushed to contact the police station's traffic department. Fortunately, the horses were evacuated from the road to the nearby fields and thus saved the lives [of the motorists] and the lives of the two frightened horses," she said.
Valencia asked that Israelis immediately report any similar incident. "Please help us save lives by reporting road hazards in a telephone call to the number 2120 *, Netivei Israel's National Traffic Management Center."
