1. JERUSALEM NEIGHBORHOOD GRIPPED BY PANIC AFTER MURDERS
by Hezki Baruch
Residents of a neighborhood in southeastern Jerusalem say they are now living in terror following a double homicide and stabbing attack, with suspicions the two incidents may be linked – and may have been terrorist attacks.
Mordechai Elkahi Street, a residential area off of David Raziel Street, sits on the northwestern edge of the Armon Hanatziv neighborhood (also known as East Talpiot) in southeast Jerusalem.
Last Wednesday, a teenage girl was stabbed at a bus stop on Elkahi Street by a man of "Arabic appearance". She was evacuated to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in light-to-moderate condition.
On Sunday, police discovered an elderly couple dead in their apartment on Elkahi Street, the victims of an apparent double murder.
The victims, 71-year-old Yehuda Kaduri and his wife, 68-year-old Tamar Kaduri, had likely been murdered on Thursday – the day after the bus stop stabbing.
With police investigating "all directions" in the double homicide, residents expressed concern over the general decline in security in the neighborhood – and the possibility that the two incidents were acts of terror targeting the area's Jewish population.
"I've lived here for 42 years," Ami told Arutz Sheva Monday, and I never saw the kinds of things that have been happening in the last few years. Just a week ago a girl was stabbed. The level of security here has plummeted, and we are fearful every day."
"I have small children who are learning in the school here, and it's frightening. I'm always keeping my eyes open. At night you can see all these people who aren't from around here walking around the neighborhood. We need to wake up and see how we can restore security to the neighborhood, even if that means taking a private security company."
Ronit, a neighbor of the murdered couple, said that even her daughter, an officer in the Border Police, was afraid to travel in the neighborhood.
"I've lived here for eight years, and there is no security. My daughter is in the Border Police, and I need to take her to her base because she's frightened."
"I knew the Kaduris, they were nice, quiet people," Ronit continued, adding that in the wake of the murders, she had decided to move out of the neighborhood.
"Yesterday I put the house up for sale. I can't keep living here. My kids can't live with this kind of fear. I don't feel secure living here or raising my kids here. Yesterday we stayed home in fear. We can't live like that."

2. 15 DEAD AFTER CARGO PLANE CRASHES IN IRAN
by Arutz Sheva Staff
A Boeing 707 cargo plane flying to Iran from Kyrgyzstan crashed Monday, killing all but one of the 16 crew members. The engineer is the only survivor of the crash and is currently being treated in hospital.
The plane crashed outside of the non-commercial Fath airport about 25 miles west Tehran, the Iranian capital. It hit a walled barrier, crashed into some residential buildings and then exploded.
Local reports say that the pilot was attempting to land at the non-commercial airport just 2.5 miles away from the crash site.
Bad weather may have been a factor in the pilot's attempt to land at the wrong airport.
Iran's aviation organisation spokesman Reza Jafarzadeh told the state broadcaster, "The plane was a cargo Boeing 707 that overshot the runway during its landing."
The Iranian army reported that the cargo plane was carrying meat from Kyrgyzstan.
"A Boeing cargo 707 plane carrying meat from Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan had an emergency landing at Fath Airport today ... the flight engineer has been dispatched to the hospital. It exited the runway during the landing and caught fire after hitting the wall at the end of the runway."
Plums of smoke could be seen from the site.
It is not clear if the plane was a civilian or military.

3. ARAB RIOTER DIES AFTER BEING SHOT ON GAZA BORDER
by David Rosenberg
An Arab rioter who was reportedly shot by Israeli security personnel defending the border on Friday succumbed to his wounds Monday morning.
Gaza health officials identified the dead rioter as 14-year-old Abdul Raouf Salha.
According to Gaza health ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra, Salha "died as a result of his injuries from occupation fire last Friday east of Jabalia," in the northern Gaza Strip.
Some 13,000 rioters gathered at several sites along the Israel-Gaza border last Friday, clashing with Israeli soldiers stationed along the frontier.
Since March 2018, rioters have attacked the Israeli border during weekly riots, drawing tens of thousands of Gazans in the Hamas-ruled enclave.
Hamas and other terror groups in the coastal strip have backed the riots, which have been accompanied by the rise of cross-border incendiary bomb attacks. Terrorists using balloons, kites, and even model airplanes have launched tens of thousands of explosive devices and incendiary bombs into Israeli territory since the riots broke out last March, causing tens of millions of shekels in damage.
Salha is the 243rd Gazan killed since the riots began, AFP reported.
4. JEWISH TEEN BEATEN BY GANG IN BROOKLYN
by David Rosenberg
An Orthodox Jewish teenager was assaulted in Brooklyn Saturday night in an apparent gang attack.
The incident occurred after the end of the Sabbath Saturday night at approximately 9:00 p.m., Collive reported, at 829 Empire Boulevard in Crown Heights, Brooklyn.
The 19-year-old victim was walking down Empire Boulevard when he was accosted by a group of black teens.
"Do you want to fight?" one of the teens asked the victim, before punching the Jewish teen in the face.
The assailants knocked the victim to the ground, beat him repeatedly, then began to flee the scene.
When the victim pulled out his cellular phone to call for help, however, the gang turned back and attacked him again.
"What you're calling the cops on us?" one of the gang members reportedly said.
The Jewish first responder group, Hatzalah, was called to the scene, as were the Shomrim community watch group.
The victim was treated at the scene before being evacuated to Maimonides Hospital for treatment. He suffered light head injuries, according to Crown Heights Info.
The assailants fled the scene and remain at large.
Investigators from the New York Police Department's 71st precinct are investigating the assault as a possible hate crime.
5. IRAN TAKING 'PRELIMINARY STEPS' TO RESTART URANIUM ENRICHMENT
by Elad Benari
Iran is taking preliminary steps to design uranium fuel with a purity of 20 percent for reactors instead of having to copy foreign designs, the country's nuclear chief said on Sunday, according to Reuters.
"We have made such progress in nuclear science and industry that, instead of reverse-engineering and the use of designs by others, we can design new fuel ourselves," said Ali Akbar Salehi, head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, according to the report.
"Initial measures have been started for the design of modern 20 percent fuel and we're on the verge of (achieving) it. This product is different from the previous 20 percent fuel, and we can supply fuel to any reactor that is built like the Tehran reactor," he added.
"The Tehran reactor has so far been working with old fuel, but modern fuel can improve efficiency," continued Salehi.
Under Iran's 2015 nuclear deal with world powers, Iran is allowed to enrich uranium at up to 3.67 percent purity, well below the 20 percent it was reaching before the deal.
Iran is, however, allowed to produce nuclear fuel under strict conditions that need to be approved by a working group set up by the signatories to the deal. Those conditions include ensuring that the fuel cannot be converted to uranium hexafluoride, the feedstock for centrifuges that enrich uranium.
US President Donald Trump pulled out of the deal in May of 2018, and has since then imposed two rounds of sanctions against Iran.
Iran, angry over the US withdrawal from the deal, has threatened several times that it will begin uranium enrichment beyond previous levels if the remaining parties fail to uphold the 2015 nuclear deal.
Iran several months ago reopened a nuclear plant that was idle for nine years as it prepared to increase uranium enrichment capacity in response to Trump leaving the 2015 agreement.
The European signatories to the deal did not agree with Trump's decision to leave the deal and have been trying to save the accord, which they see as crucial to forestalling an Iranian nuclear weapon.
Tehran has demanded that Europe come up with an economic package to offset the effects of the US withdrawal but so far has found Europe's proposals to be unsatisfactory.
Iranian officials have repeatedly criticized the delays in setting up a new European Union payments mechanism for Iranian oil exports, but until now has stopped short of moves that could jeopardize the accord, noted Reuters.

A 25-year-old woman was killed in a car accident on Sunday between an Israeli private vehicle and an Israeli truck on Route 60 in the eastern Binyamin region north of Jerusalem.
A 35-year-old man traveling with her in the private vehicle was seriously injured. An MDA team determined the death of the woman and is now evacuating the injured man, who suffers from a head injury, to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital while he is anesthetized and connected to a respirator.
The truck driver involved in the accident was lightly injured, treated by an MDA team at the scene of the accident, and did not need to be evacuated to a hospital.
The fire department was active in the rescue of the trapped persons from the private vehicle, noting that the rescue was complicated due to the nature of the collision.
Police forces were called to the scene of the accident. Traffic examiners opened an investigation into the circumstances of the accident. Route 60 is closed to traffic in both directions.
Shortly afterwards, a second fatal accident occurred, this time on Route 465, near the Israeli town of Ateret, also in the Binyamin district of Samaria.
The accident involved a head-on collision between an Israeli car and a truck.
A 27-year-old woman was killed in the accident, while a second victim was lightly injured. Police closed the road to traffic in both directions following the accident.
7. REPORT: NASRALLAH SUFFERS HEART ATTACK
by Tzvi Lev
The Lebanese media reported on Saturday that Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah was hospitalized after apparently suffering a heart attack.
Additional reports said that Nasrallah is also fighting cancer.
Israel Hayom quoted Lebanese journalist Jerry Mahar as saying that "an intelligence source confirmed that a senior figure in the Hezbollah organization was hospitalized today in a hospital in the capital Beirut, and other sources confirmed that it was Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah, who has been fighting cancer for years."
The reports were not confirmed by any official source in the country and Hezbollah did not respond to the report.
Nasrallah has not been seen in the media since reports of the exposure of Hezbollah tunnels in Operation Defensive Shield.
In his last public appearance in November, Nasrallah blasted reports of a cease-fire between Hamas and Israel and warned the Jewish State not to attack Lebanon.
"We condemn any form of normalization with the Zionist entity," Nasrallah said. "I say to the Palestinian people, do not lose hope over the Arab states' normalization with Israel; what before went on behind the scenes now is taking place publicly. The current normalization has put an end to Arab hypocrisy, and removed the mask from the swindlers and hypocrites."
8. 'PAVING THE WAY FOR THE NEXT YIGAL AMIR'
by Arutz Sheva Staff
Major (Res.) Yair "Yaya" Fink, a candidate in the Labor Party's upcoming Knesset primaries, excoriated national-religious rabbis and Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked, accusing them of paving the way for a future political assassination.
Fink argued that criticism of how Israel's Shin Bet internal security agency handled the recent arrest and interrogation of Jewish teens suspected in the death of a 45-year-old Arab woman last year encouraged future assassins in the mold of Yigal Amir - the assassin of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin.
The suspects are students of the Pri Haaretz Yeshiva in Rehalim, in Samaria. Police arrested the students in connection with the death of Aisha al-Rabi last October. Al-Rabi died after the car she was riding in crashed during a stone-throwing attack.
"Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked's warm embrace of the families of the youths suspected in the involvement of the murder of Aisha al-Rabi and continuing attacks by other MKs and right-wing rabbis against the Shin Bet are actually paving the way for the next Yigal Amir," Fink said.
"There is an atmosphere of forgiveness and even empathy shown by the justice minister to those suspected of murdering an innocent woman. She has found time to meet and make personal phone calls with the families of the suspects, coupled with the unbridled attacks of rabbis on the extreme right against the Shin Bet, and acts such as the deletion of the alleged security video by the civilian security coordination of Rehalim, brings us back to the violent period on the eve of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin's assassination. Even then, the leaders and rabbis of the right showed leniency and restraint in the face of the campaign of incitement in the country. Even if they do not intend to, they are actually preparing for another Yigal Amir and other [Jewish] terror attacks," Fink added.
Fink called on the prime minister and defense minister to back the Shin Bet. He also urged the government to increase the surveillance of right-wing organizations and extreme-right circles.
A few days ago, Fink led a vigil protest near the entrance to Rehalim.
"The margins of the extreme right are legitimized by leaders in the Knesset. This is a dangerous phenomenon in the State of Israel in 2019 in which there are flags burning and attacks on the Shin Bet and Police. And no one from the right-wing leadership thinks of denouncing it [burning and attacks]. Where do we hear that suspects in a murder case receive VIP treatment from the justice ministry of the State of Israel?"
