1. BEREAVED DAUGHTER TO LIBERMAN: DEATH TO THE TERRORIST
by Uzi Baruch

Minister of Defense Avigdor Liberman on Tuesday comforted the family of Ari Fuld, who was murdered in a stabbing attack in Gush Etzion.

Tamar, Ari's eldest daughter, asked the defense minister to impose the death penalty on the terrorist. She told Liberman that she was concerned that the terrorist was not killed at the scene of the attack and lamented that he was lightly wounded and was being treated in an Israeli hospital.

"If my father was alive, he would have acted to make it happen," she said to Liberman.

The defense minister explained to the bereaved family that "The state is not one unit, and what I and you understand, there are others who do not understand. We are making every effort."

Ari's mother asked Liberman to develop Givat Eitam in Efrat, and the defense minister made it clear that "I intend to continue to approve the construction of housing units in settlements in Judea and Samaria."

Earlier, President Reuven Rivlin paid a condolence visit to the family.

The president met Ari's family, his wife, his children, his parents and his brothers, and heard from them about the tremendous pain they face, Ari's great love for his family and his devotion to the people of Israel and the Land of Israel.

"Once, to raise the Israeli flag was a miracle, now it's taken for granted, but every time such a despicable murder takes place, we understand that the struggle is not over. In the same breath we understand the strength, the power and the determination of the people. When it hits your home, it is painful, pain that is incomprehensible," the president said.

Ari's father told the president that Ari, with his own hands, raised the flag, and the president replied that he was impressed by everything he heard and learned about Ari who proudly carried the flag through his deeds. Ari's parents told the president about their immigration to Israel. "You are Zionists in the fullest sense. I was born here, it doesn't take wisdom, but you made aliyah and did real Zionism," said the president.

"On the eve of Yom Kippur, I came to share in your unbearable sorrow and to tell you that the entire Jewish people is with you," said the president to the family. "How diverse your wonderful family is, what openness and education to love of the land. We are all together in this land despite disagreements sometimes, even between brothers in a family, and you are a shining example even when your pain is very severe on a personal level."

The president turned to Miriam, Ari's wife, and said, "We all cried with you. Ari was a hero. A hero in his actions, in his conduct, in his awareness, in his devotion. Be strong. You did not voluntarily become a symbol of what is happening in this country and that we will never give up," he said to the family.

2. 'ARI FULD SAVED ME FROM TERRORIST'
by Mordechai Sones

Hila Peretz makes falafel for a living. She made the Muslim murderer a falafel just before his rampage started. After he stabbed Ari Fuld, he went on to stab her. Ari's shots saved her life.

"I just want to thank him," Peretz says tearfully, "for saving my life. I got my life back today," she says, and breaks down in tears.

She explains the incident from her perspective: "I made him the falafel, he ate, and then I saw how he's stabbing him... I saw his huge knife, and when he started running after me I started to yell 'terrorist, attack!', I was screaming like a lunatic...I ran towards the mall area there and then I heard shots."

4. RUSSIA: ISRAEL GAVE WARNING A MINUTE BEFORE ATTACKING
by Ido Ben Porat

The Russian defense Mmnistry issued an unusual announcement that Syrian anti-aircraft systems activated Tuesday night in the wake of the Israeli attack in Syria were what downed the Russian transport plane last night.

A defense ministry spokesman said Israel had warned the Russians a minute before the strike, and 15 Russian military personnel were killed in the crash.

The spokesman condemned Israel's "irresponsible actions" and said that Moscow reserved its right to take appropriate measures after Israel's "hostile action."

"Israel created a deliberate provocation, it is inconceivable that the IDF did not see the Russian planes that were preparing to land," the Russian defense ministry said.
In the meantime, Israel is maintaining ambiguity and is not addressing Moscow's unprecedented claims against IDF activity.

7. ARI FULD LAID TO REST
by Arutz Sheva Staff

Thousands of people on Sunday night attended the funeral of Ari Fuld, who was murdered by a terrorist at the Gush Etzion junction, at the cemetery in Kfar Etzion.

Yona Fuld, Ari's father, eulogized him and said: "Zion is crying and the Land of Israel is crying. Ari affected thousands all over the world." The father said that his son would receive thousands of letters from all over the world, including from Saudi Arabia, noting that "he was the hero of everyone."

"If we asked him, he would say that this how he wanted to leave the world," the father added. "I can only be satisfied that the entire nation of Israel is grieving today for a true hero, a hero who is like a lion."

Ari's brother, Moshe Fuld, said, "So many people came here to pay their last respects to him. If there is one word to describe my brother, it is 'hero', simply a hero."

The brother added, "Who else can deal with a terrorist, take out a gun, jump over a fence and shoot the terrorist so that he does not harm others? Ari, I'm so sorry that I did not tell you about your greatness. You are a true giant."

Ari Fuld, a 45-year-old immigrant from the US and resident of the Gush Etzion town of Efrat, was stabbed in the back by a 17-year-old Arab terrorist from the Hevron area. Before collapsing, Fuld managed to shoot the terrorist together with another civilian and a security guard. The terrorist was moderately wounded.

Earlier on Sunday, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, Education Minister Naftali Bennett (Jewish Home), Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein (Likud), and MK Bezalel Smotrich (Jewish Home) paid a condolence visit to the home of the Fuld family.

During the visit, Minister Bennett spoke with Fuld's family, who shared some of the family history going back to the Holocaust and through to their decision to move to Israel.

"He is an Israeli hero who in death saved others," Bennett said.

Netanyahu also eulogized Fuld as a "hero of Israel", telling reporters shortly after his condolence call that Israelis would "always remember him".

"I met tonight the wonderful parents and brothers of the wonderful hero of Israel, Ari Fuld. I embraced them in the name of all the people of Israel during their terrible grief. We're alive, thanks to heroes like Ari. We will always remember him."
