1. ORDER FROM LIKUD HQ: ASSIGN RUSSIANS AT POLLING STATIONS
by Mordechai Sones

Likud's battle with Yisrael Beytenu continues for the Russian vote, and the party is exploiting every means that can possibly be mobilized for the campaign.

Those in charge of assigning Likud ballot committee spots have been instructed to assign as many candidates as possible from the former Soviet Union immigrant community.

The order came from senior Likud election headquarters. "Did you assign Russians? There is an order from the top to integrate as many Russians at voting stations as possible," the person in charge of the field was told.

These represent thousands of positions on behalf of the Likud movement, the remuneration for which ranges from NIS 550 per half work day to about NIS 1,500 for a full work day.

At the same time, there was an order to integrate at the polls as many as possible from supporters of Kulanu's former Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon, to strengthen their loyalty to the Likud.

In the past, those responsible for appointing Likud ballot committee members were instructed to prefer Likud members, but this time the guidelines reaching the field from election headquarters have changed.

2. SENIOR ZEHUT OFFICIALS TO ENDORSE YAMINA
by Arutz Sheva Staff

The heads of the New Right, Naftali Bennett and Ayelet Shaked, will hold a joint press conference with former senior Zehut party members Gilad Alper, Libby Molad and Refael Minnes on Thursday evening.

At the press conference, the three are expected to declare support for the Yamina list in the upcoming Knesset elections in less than two weeks.

A statement ahead of the press conference said, "The message of former Zehut heads comes in the face of intense contacts between the sides in recent days to promote shared values and ideas of liberalism, free economy and individual liberty."

Economist Gilad Alper, who is considered the most prominent figure in Zehut after Chairman Moshe Feiglin, was in third place on the Zehut list for the 21st Knesset, and second place on the list for the 22nd Knesset before Zehut dropped out of the race.

Libby Molad was placed 5th on the list for the 21st Knesset and resigned from the list before submission of lists for the 22nd Knesset. Dr. Refael Minnes was placed 7th in the list for the 21st Knesset elections and 5th in the list for the 22nd Knesset elections.

3. REPORT: ISRAEL WAS CLOSE TO ATTACKING IRAN IN 2012
by Gary Willig

Israel was close to launching an attack on Iran's nuclear facilities in 2012, despite opposition from the Obama Administration, the New York Times reported.

Israel had delayed a joint military exercise which had been scheduled for spring, 2012, prompting concerns among American officials that an attack on Iran was imminent.

The administration sent a series of officials to Israel to "Bibisit" Prime Minister Netanyahu and convince him to hold off on any attack every few weeks. In addition, then Defense Secretary Leon Panetta showed then Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak video of an American strike on an exact replica of the Fordow nuclear facility using an advanced bunker buster bomb. Barak was impressed by the footage of the complete destruction of the facility.

Israel had launched a number of drones into Iranian airspace from Azerbaijan as part of the preparations for the strike.

Netanyahu stated that his intentions to attack Iran were "not a bluff" and that it was opposition within his own government and Cabinet which ultimately prevented any attack.

4. SMOTRICH, SHAKED, ANSWER YAIR NETANYAHU
by Arutz Sheva Staff

Yamina party leaders Ayelet Shaked and Bezalel Smotrich responded to Prime Minister Netanyahu's son Yair Netanyahu, who questioned whether they would recommend his father continue as prime minister after the September 17 elections.

"Don't make spins when you know perfectly well that they have no grip on reality," Smotrich asked the premier's son in a live Facebook video.

"Yair, we will only recommend your father to the prime minister and not anyone else so you can move forward," Shaked said.

Minister Smotrich added: "I have a great appreciation for your father, I also have quite a few disagreements with him and that is fine. Managing this is important and respectful. I definitely want to draw him far more to the right and I want to make sure that he does not establish another left-wing government as he did before."

"I have a great appreciation for him and I also have a great appreciation for you, and I think the campaign of debauchery and lies that you go through is unacceptable. I have no doubt that I would feel horrible and horrible if I went through it, so I ask you - don't adopt It.

"The sages said: 'That which is hateful to you, don't do unto others. Do not adopt the same methods, do not discredit, do not create campaigns. You know perfectly well that we are the right-wing party. You know perfectly well that your father is the only right-wing candidate for prime minister. You know perfectly well that we are going to recommend him and form a right-wing government.

"Yes, we have demands. That is correct. We want the government not to be a right-wing government in name only, but also in deeds. So in the coalition agreements we need to put in all the steps that are important to carry out."

5. DRUZE DELEGATION TO SYRIA ARRESTED AT BORDER
by Mordechai Sones

Police arrested dozens of Druze men from the Galilee and Carmel communities today attempting to reach Syria via Jordan to meet with government officials in violation of the law.

This morning their departure from the Jordan River border crossing was prevented. Buses and private vehicles were detained there.

The Israeli police said, "In the course of an investigation conducted in recent months by the Israel Police in cooperation with the Shin Bet, it emerged that a delegation from the Galilee and Carmel communities intended to visit Syria's enemy state and meet with government officials in contravention of the law."

Police said that after the initiative was unveiled, "the expected participants were warned and it was explained to them that their intent and actions would compromise the security of the State and its citizens.

"Despite the warnings, a short while ago at the Jordan River crossing, dozens of people arrived to cross the border from Jordan to Syria. Buses and private vehicles were detained there," police said.

6. ARABS ATTACK HAREDI YOUTHS AT JAFFA GATE
by Arutz Sheva Staff

Last Monday, two haredi youths were attacked by Arabs on the promenade leading to the Jaffa Gate in Jerusalem, when the attackers threw rocks at them and shouted scorn at them.

Advocate Chaim Bleicher from the Honeinu legal aid organization that represents one of the youths contacted the police after police at the station told one of the men who was attacked that chances were the suspects would not be apprehended.

"My client and his friend, dressed in hasidic attire, were walking toward the Western Wall. While passing, my client and his friend on the promenade near the Jaffa Gate encountered two minority rioters who began to throw a number of rocks at them while laughing," Bleicher wrote.

The harassment of the haredi youth was described: "Some of the rocks hit my client and caused him shoulder injury. The rioters' actions stopped only after my client and his friend sped up and mingled with another group of people walking."

The lawyer said the injured youth contacted him after the incident and asked to consult him. In response, he recommended arriving at a nearby police station to file an orderly complaint.

He also added that, according to the young man's testimony, he could identify the faces of the attackers. However, when the young man arrived at the police station and asked the investigator for access to the crime victim's site where he could track the case's progress, he was told that he was not required to receive the number in question since the suspects would not be caught and the case would be closed anyway.

In his letter to police chiefs, Attorney Bleicher attacked the approach taken by the police officer. "First, I would like to request an immediate change in approach and serious attention to a most grave incident, which unfortunately is part of a difficult phenomenon reminiscent of the dark days of exile. What's more, my client's basic right to access the site is independent of the chance of catching the rioters."

Bleicher said the incident had distinctly anti-Semitic overtones and that it recalls dark days when Jews were attacked for their Jewish identity.

The youth described the assault: "I went with my friend on the Jaffa Gate promenade in the morning. We encountered two Arabs who started throwing rocks at us. I got hit in the back and shoulder that hurt for a few hours. I called Honeinu's attorney and he told me to complain to the police. Hopefully they'll catch the terrorists."

Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein affixed a mezuzah to the doorpost of the Machpelah House in Hevron Wednesday afternoon.

"On September 4, 35 years ago, I was arrested in Moscow and sent to Gulag. Who would have believed then that I, as the Speaker of the Knesset, would be allowed to fix a mezuzah in the Machpelah House opposite the Cave of the Patriarchs?" Edelstein said.

Rabbi Uzi Sharbaf, who invited Edelstein to Hevron, said: "The fact that the Knesset Speaker affixed a mezuzah hear today strengthens us by showing understanding that buying homes from Arabs throughout Hevron is the same as throughout the rest of Judea and Samaria."

"We urge the Israeli government to invest its lecturer and resources to buy more and more homes and settle with Jews," Rabbi Sharbaf added.
