1. NETANYAHU: WE WILL APPLY SOVEREIGNTY EARLY IN THE NEXT GOVT.
by Arutz Sheva Staff

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu addressed a tweet by President Trump about the possibility of a defense agreement between Israel and the US at the start of the weekly Cabinet meeting Sunday.

"I agreed with Trump to promote a historic defense alliance between the US and Israel. This adds a huge layer of deterrence to our enemy, along with preserving the freedom of action of our forces," the prime minister said.

Following his remarks, Netanyahu reiterated last week's pledge to apply Israeli sovereignty in the Jordan Valley and the Northern Dead Sea.

"We will apply sovereignty in the Jordan Valley and the Northern Dead Sea as soon as the next government is established in the next Knesset. I have appointed a work team headed by the director of the Prime Minister's Office, which will formulate an outline for applying sovereignty," said Netanyahu.

The prime minister noted, "Applying Israeli sovereignty to all our communities in Judea and Samaria, including the blocs and the territory outside the blocs, and other areas that are essential for our security and our heritage - these things will come up in the "Deal of the Century" plan, which will come very soon after the elections."

2. NOAM PARTY WITHDRAWS FROM THE ELECTIONS
by Arutz Sheva Staff

The leaders of the Noam party will announce Sunday afternoon at a gathering of party activists at the Ramada Hotel in Jerusalem that the faction has dropped out of the race for the 22nd Knesset.

The party claims to have succeeded in recruiting some 70,000 supporters, or roughly half of the number needed to enter the Knesset, and sees the campaign as a significant success despite indicating slim chances for the party to pass the electoral threshold. The Noam leaders will not endorse any party when they withdraw.

"There is no doubt that this is a tremendous success," said Rabbi Dror Aryeh - the party's chairman. "We have succeeded through thousands of volunteers, to reveal to the people of Israel the attempt by foreigners to take over the state and dismantle our core values as a people and as a state."

The Noam party's withdrawal comes just two days before the elections on Tuesday.

3. LIKUD: MAP PRESENTED BY YAMINA - 'FAKE NEWS'
by Arutz Sheva Staff

Likud officials say that the map released this morning, Sunday, by Naftali Bennett, allegedly depicting the map proposed by the Americans under the "Deal of the Century," is incorrect.

A statement from Likud said, "The map that Bennett, Smotrich and Shaked are advertising - is incorrect and not part of Trump's Deal of the Century. Absolute Fake News.”

"It is unclear why Bennett, Smotrich and Shaked are ready to hurt the sensitive relationship with the Trump administration just to garner some media headlines," the Likud statement said.

Likud added, "Trump's ‘Deal of the Century’' will come immediately after elections on Tuesday, and Israeli citizens have to decide who they want to send to negotiate with President Trump - his close friend Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, who protected the land of Israel for the 8 years of Obama and brought about great achievements from the Trump administration, or Yair Lapid, who wants to evacuate 90 thousand settlers, and with whom nobody serious in the US is even familiar.”

Earlier, Bennett presented a map of Judea and Samaria which emphasizes the expected danger to Jewish communities, large and small, due to the Palestinian Arab envelope that would allegedly surround them according to the Trump administration peace plan.

Bennett wrote alongside the map he presents:

“This is the ‘Deal of the Century’ that will hit us immediately after the election.

Black - Palestine. Over 90% of the area.

White - Individual ‘islands’ in an ocean of Palestine. Surrounded 360 degrees by Hamas, Tanzim, the PLO.

A nightmare for every resident of Ariel, Ofra and Kiryat Arba. The end of settlement.

Only Yamina will stop the plan for islands in Palestine."

4. SMOTRICH TO NETANYAHU: STAND FIRM AGAINST ATTORNEY GENERAL
by Arutz Sheva Staff

Transportation Minister Bezalel Smotrich called on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to vote in favor of the regulation of the town of Mevo’ot Yericho in the Jordan Valley Sunday despite the opposition of Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit.

On Thursday, Mandelblit issued an opinion stating that Netanyahu's plan to normalize Mevo'ot Yericho would violate Supreme Court rulings which limit the powers of a lame-duck government during election season.

In response, Minister Smotrich wrote on Twitter: "I urge the prime minister to raise the decision to vote despite the attorney general's opposition. There is a limit to our lack of governance. This is exactly where the border should be."

In a detailed post on the issue, Smotrich explained that the Attorney General's opinion on this issue is incorrect for 3 reasons: "According to the Local Establishment Procedure (Article 6), a decision such as the one adopted today is not final, it is only the beginning of a professional process at the end of which a final decision must be made, without which the initial decision (made today) is not complete. In light of this, this is not the final word and thus there is nothing preventing making the decision," Smotrich noted.

Smotrich added that this is the product of government work that started well before the elections, "work started by a regulation committee chaired by Dr. Haya Zandberg, which was formed following our coalition demand with the previous government."

He further stated that the town "is located in the Jordan Valley, an area that even the Blue and White Party claims on every stage will forever remain under Israeli sovereignty."

5. ISRAEL AND US TO SIGN MUTUAL DEFENSE TREATY?
by Arutz Sheva Staff

US President Donald Trump spoke Saturday with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to discuss the possibility of moving forward with a mutual defense treaty between the United States and Israel.

Trump tweeted that the treaty "would further anchor the tremendous alliance" between the two countries.

"I look forward to continuing those discussions after the Israeli elections when we meet at the United Nations later this month!" Trump tweeted.

"Thank you my dear friend President Trump," Netanyahu tweeted. "The Jewish State has never had a greater friend in the White House. I look forward to our meeting at the UN to advance a historic Defense Treaty between the United States and Israel.

"Together, we will continue full steam ahead with our common battle against terrorism. Congratulations on your latest success against Bin Laden’s son. God bless America. God bless Israel."

Israel's Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz (Likud) praised the announcement.

"As I have said in the past, I am in favor of a clear and signed defense treaty between the US and Israel against Iran and dealing with the issue of nuclear weapons and the threat of ballistic missiles, which does not limit Israel's actions in other areas," he said.

"A treaty such as this with the strongest power in the world will be an unprecendented historical achievement which will contribute much to the State of Israel's security and economic strength."

6. POLL: 59 SEATS FOR THE RIGHT-WING BLOC
by Elad Benari, Canada

A final poll released on Friday evening by Channel 12 News and the Midgam Institute ahead of Tuesday’s election finds that the right-wing bloc does not reach 61 seats without Avigdor Liberman’s Yisrael Beytenu party.

The Likud party gains strengths from previous polls and wins 32 seats, as does the Blue and White party. The Joint List has 10 seats. Yamina and United Torah Judaism each win 8 seats. Yisrael Beytenu continues its downward trend and it, too, has 8 seats in this poll.

Shas has 7 seats, the Democratic Union retains its power with 6, and Amir Peretz and Orly Levy-Abekasis Labor-Gesher wins 5 seats. Otzma Yehudit passes the electoral threshold in this poll and achieves 4 seats.

The right-wing bloc has 44 seats and together with the haredi parties reaches 59 seats. The left-center bloc has 43 seats and as many as 53 seats when the Joint List is included in the bloc.

On the question of who is most fit to serve as Prime Minister, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu still leads Blue and White chairman Benny Gantz with 41% of respondents saying Netanyahu is most suitable for the position. 31% said Gantz is most suited for the job.

56% of voters (72% define themselves as right-wing voters) believe that the next Prime Minister will be Binyamin Netanyahu. 21% believe that Gantz will head the government. Only 5% believe that someone else from the Likud will eventually form the government and 2% believe that Liberman will be Prime Minister.

7. BENNETT: THIS IS THE DEAL OF THE CENTURY MAP - 'A NIGHTMARE'
by Arutz Sheva Staff

Former minister and senior Yamina leader Naftali Bennett continued to criticize the “Deal of the Century” plan, calling it a “nightmare” for settlement of Judea and Samaria.

Bennett presented a map of Judea and Samaria which emphasizes the expected danger to Jewish communities, large and small, as a result of the Palestinian Arab envelope that would allegedly surround them according to Trump administration peace plan.
