ISRAELI DRONE FALLS IN GAZA by Elad Benari The Palestinian Arab Shehab news agency reported on Tuesday morning that an Israeli drone was intercepted east of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip. According to the report, the drone was shot down and is now in the hands of Hamas. The IDF Spokesperson's Unit later confirmed night that an IDF drone fell in the southern Gaza Strip overnight Monday. The incident is being investigated. On Monday morning, the Hezbollah terrorist organization claimed it had downed an Israeli UAV in the village of Ramyeh in southern Lebanon. According to the announcement, members of the organization intercepted the UAV with appropriate weapons as it crossed the border from Israel and it is now in the hands of Hezbollah. The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit subsequently confirmed that an IDF drone which was engaged in routine activities on the Lebanese border had fallen on the Lebanese side. The statement noted that there was no fear of information having been leaked. 2. ERDAN: IT IS IMPORTANT TO SHOW THE TRUE FACE OF IRAN by Arutz Sheva Staff Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan (Likud) on Tuesday morning emphasized that the campaign against Iran is fought with weapons - but also by raising awareness. "The campaign against Iran is not just [military] attacks, it is also a campaign of awareness.," Erdan told Reshet Bet. Regarding Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's revelation of a new Iranian nuclear arms site, Erdan said: "When the President of France does everything to legitimize Iran and give it a [monetary] credit line - it is important to show its true face." Regarding the possibility that US President Donald Trump will meet Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, Erdan said: "When it's part of a campaign to put maximum pressure on Iran in order to completely change the nuclear deal, then it definitely is in Israel's interests as well." On Monday, Israel's Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz (Likud) urged world powers "to immediately announce the activation of the existing mechanism for discussing breach of the agreement and to lead the cancellation of the agreement and joining with the US sanctions against Iran." "History shows time and again that surrendering to tyrants results in violence and not peace. The world must unite and stop Iran's efforts to attain nuclear power and its support for regional and global terrorism." 3. HAREDI MKS PLEDGE TO BLOCK 'LAND FOR PEACE' CONCESSIONS by Arutz Sheva Staff Deputy Health Minister Yakov Litzman (UTJ) has clarified that he will oppose any agreements which including giving parts of Israel's land to Muslims. "The UTJ party has committed to continuing to oppose any retreat from the land of Israel," Litzman said. "We do not support, and are not interested in, giving up parts of the Land of Israel. We will continue with this stance, which is supported by our Council of Torah Sages." MK Uri Maklev, also of UTJ, reiterated his colleague's stance. "The rulings which Israel's sages have given was to oppose such agreements. This ruling is relevant today as well. And our opinions and votes on every subject are according to what the sages tell us." In 2017, UTJ's MK Moshe Gafni claimed that it is permitted to dismantle Jewish settlements in exchange for peace. "The first important thing is that the State of Israel be a Jewish state, otherwise we have no right to conduct negotiations with the Palestinians - they were here before us, we removed them from here," he said then, adding that "if we do not have the historical right that the Jewish people have here, we have no rights." 4. NETANYAHU TO MAKE 'DRAMATIC ANNOUNCEMENT' TUESDAY by Hezki Baruch Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu will make a “dramatic announcement” Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. at the Kfar Maccabiah hotel and events center in Ramat Gan, a Likud spokesperson said Tuesday morning. The Likud spokesperson refused to release further details on the announcement slated for the 5:00 p.m. press conference. “There will be no questions and no further details will be given before 5:00 p.m.,” the spokesperson said. On Monday, Netanyahu announced that Israel had discovered a facility allegedly used for Iran’s nuclear program. "Today we reveal that yet another secret nuclear site was exposed in the archives that we brought from Tehran. In this site, Iran conducted experiments to develop nuclear weapons." The new secret facility was located near the city of Abadeh. "When Iran realized that they uncovered the site," Netanyahu continued, "they destroyed the site. They just wiped it out." The announcement came on the heels of a report that the International Atomic Energy Agency had discovered traces of uranium at another Iranian atomic site which Israel had revealed in 2018. 5. FREE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION ON ELECTION DAY by Arutz Sheva Staff The Central Elections Committee, together with the Transportation Ministry, has approved a move to allow 630 intercity bus lines, as well as Israel Railways, to run free of charge on election day. The free trips will begin Monday, September 16, at 8:00p.m., and end with the end of service on Tuesday, September, 17. Those riding buses will be able to board without showing a Rav Kav card or otherwise paying the fare, as long as the bus line is included in the list of free lines. Passengers boarding trains will be able to print out an "election day ticket" from the automated ticket machines or receive one from the counter. Trips to and from Eilat will be free for those who are eligible and have pre-registered with Egged's hotline (*2800). Central Elections Committee Director-General Orly Adas noted that in the coming elections, the number of free bus lines has been expanded. She added that she expects that the initiative will help Israeli citizens vote easily and safely, even if they are located far from the voting station they are registered to vote at. 6. MYSTERIOUS DEATH OF FORMER HEZBOLLAH LEADER by Arutz Sheva Staff A former Hezbollah leader was found dead in his apartment outside of Beirut Sunday, Lebanese media outlets reported. Sheikh Ali Hatoum, who was a senior member of the Iranian-backed Shia terrorist organization before his departure from the group two years ago, was found dead in his home in Bourj el-Barajneh, a suburb of Beirut. Citing unnamed sources, Lebanon24 reported that there was “no security action related to the killing of the [Hezbollah]” official, noting that Hatoum was no longer affiliated with the terror group. No cause of death has been reported thus far, and local officials are expected to make a public statement on the discovery of Hatoum’s remains. 7. URANIUM DISCOVERED AT TEHRAN WAREHOUSE UNCOVERED BY ISRAEL by David Rosenberg A facility in Tehran which Israel claimed was used by the Islamic republic as a “secret atomic warehouse” has been found to contain traces of uranium, Reuters reported Sunday. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) discovered the uranium traces while investigating a facility which Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu cited during an address to the United Nations General Assembly last year as proof that Iran had been storing radioactive material in violation of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal. Two diplomats with knowledge of the IAEA’s inspection work told Reuters Sunday that uranium traces had been found at the Iranian warehouse – strengthening Netanyahu’s claims Iran had secretly stored atomic material at the site. While the IAEA had asked Iran to explain the findings, Tehran has thus far refused to respond, the two diplomats claimed. During his address last fall, Netanyahu claimed Iran was storing 15 kilograms (33 pounds) of uranium at the storage facility, pointing to a satellite photo of the warehouse in question. “Just last month, they removed 15 kilograms of radioactive material. You know what they did with it? They had 15 kilograms of radioactive material, they had to get it out of the site, so they took it out and they spread it around Tehran in an effort to hide the evidence.” “Now, the Iranian officials cleaning out that site still have a lot of work to do because they’ve had at least, at least 15 ship containers, they’re gigantic, 15 ship containers full of nuclear related equipment and material stored there. Now, since each of those containers can hold 20 tons of material, this means that this site contains as much as 300 tons, 300 tons of nuclear related equipment and material.” In April, it was reported that the IAEA was inspecting the warehouse in question, following Netanyahu’s UN address. While previous reports have confirmed that radioactive material was found at the Tehran warehouse, the new Reuters report claims that uranium, the key element needed for producing atomic weaponry, was the radioactive material discovered. “There are lots of possible explanations,” one of the two diplomats told Reuters, though Iran’s refusal to comment on the discovery makes it difficult for the IAEA to determine whether the traces were left from uranium stockpiles stored at the facility before or after the 2015 nuclear deal. 8. NETANYAHU REVEALS ANOTHER SECRET IRANIAN NUCLEAR SITE by Gary Willig 📹 To watch the video: https://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/268622 Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu announced that the International Atomic Energy Agency had found undeclared stores of uranium in a live address Monday evening. The prime minister's address follows the launching of missiles at Israel by Iranian-backed militias in Syria and the announcement of the IAEA that Iran has violated the terms of the 2015 nuclear agreement by installing advanced centrifuges to enable it to increase the enrichment level of its uranium stocks. "A year and a half ago, we exposed Iran's secret nuclear archive which revealed that Iran was developing five nuclear warheads as early as 2003," Netanyahu said. "Last year, we exposed Iran's secret nuclear warehouse in Turquzabad which Iran used for storing materials and equipment for its secret nuclear program." "Even before that, Iran knew we were on to them, and so they cleared the site. They cleared it ... and then they actually covered up the site. This is an actual cover-up. They put gravel on it to try to hide their traces, but they didn't. "The IAEA found traces of uranium that Iran hid in these sites. That's a direct violation of the NPT, the Non-Proliferation Treaty," he declared. Netanyahu then revealed that Israel had discovered another secret nuclear facility in Iran. They just wiped it out." "This is what I have to say to the tyrants of Tehran: Israel knows what you're doing. Israel knows when you're doing it. And Israel knows where you're doing it," he warned. "I call on the international community to wake up, to realize that Iran is systematically lying, and I call on the international community to join President Trump's sanctions to exert more pressure on Iran." | |
