As Israeli UN ambassador Danny Danon hosts a delegation of UN ambassadors in Israel, he spoke with Arutz Sheva ahead of an aerial tour of Israel and the Hezbollah terror tunnels in the north. He said such a tour was the best way to explain to the ambassadors the challenges that Israel faces.

"When the ambassadors go back to New York, they will be able to speak about what they saw here," Danon explained.

Earlier Sunday, President Rivlin welcomed the ambassadors at his residence.

"The UN is the most important international forum for us and for the world, said the president, noting, "some UN bodies take unfair decisions about Israel. Double standards and discrimination must not detract from the UN's important work." "Change is in your hands," the president emphasized. "Please ensure that our good bilateral relations are also how you relate to Israel at the UN."

2. TRUMP 'RECRUITED' TO LIKUD-NETANYAHU CAMPAIGN
by Arutz Sheva Staff

A new Likud campaign ad seen on Israeli streets emphasizes Netanyahu's relationship with Donald Trump. The ad show Trump and Netanyahu shaking hands under the caption, "Netanyahu: A different league."

This is not the first time Netanyahu has "recruited" Trump for his campaign. A recent ad showed Trump announcing the moving of the US embassy to Jerusalem following a clip of Netanyahu saying, "The US embassy needs to be here, in Jerusalem."

Even before Trump was president, a Likud activist produced a Trump endorsement video for Netanyahu prior to the 2013 Knesset election.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu today met with the UN Ambassador's delegation organized and hosted by Israel's UN Ambassador Danny Danon.

"Welcome to Israel, to those of you who are coming for the first time," the Prime Minister greeted the guests. "Israel is a gigantic country," Netanyahu quipped to a smattering of laughter from the assembled delegates. "You're going to fly above the narrow waist of Israel - it's about twelve kilometers.

"You'll go up to the northern border and you'll see the terrorist tunnels that Hezbollah tried to dig into Israel, a clear violation of UN resolutions and international law.

"The fact that you're here represents the fairness and integrity of your approach. I wish that this characterized the UN. In the UN General Assembly this year alone there were twenty resolutions against Israel, six against the rest of the world, which includes Syria, and includes Iran, and so on. So it's honestly absurd. But the important thing is not merely to see the truth, which you will, in this visit, it is to speak the truth, and may I say to vote the truth.

"So I have a non-hidden agenda in agreeing to Danny Danon's suggestion that you come here," netanyahu said as he turned to Danon on his right, and then, turning back to the ambassadors, said with emphasis, "We want to see you change your votes. For those of you who have already done it, thank you; for those of you who will do it, thank you in advance.

"The second point I have to say is that we are faced with a great, aggressive power in the Middle East. The Middle East has changed a lot. If you had come here several decades ago there'd be an Arab-Israeli conflict, with the Arab world, much bigger than Israel, aligned to destroy us; that is, I have to say, changing. Changing in an important way. Into practical alliances that Israel has with many of the Arab countries, in formal peace treaties that we have with two of our neighbors, with Egypt and Jordan. And these practical alliances recognize that a great shift is taking place in the Middle East. That shift is the rise of the aggressive theocracy of Iran that seeks to conquer the Middle East, eliminate Israel, and dominate many other parts of the world.

"Iran has proxies. One of them is Hezbollah. Hezbollah just joined the government of Lebanon. A misnomer - they actually control the government of Lebanon. And that means that Iran controls the government of Lebanon. And it's important to send this very powerful message: Just as we stopped the terror tunnels coming into Israel, we will stop all the aggression from Lebanon or from Syria or from Iran itself. We are committed to preventing this aggression and in so doing we are not only protecting Israel itself but we are protecting our neighbors and world peace.

"I'm sure you'll have the opportunity to see the spirit of the people of Israel and the soldiers of Israel, and I hope you'll come back for future visits," the Prime Minister concluded.

5. REPORT: NETANYAHU CONSIDERING ALLIANCE WITH JEWISH HOME
by Arutz Sheva Staff

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held talks this week over the possibility of integrating the Jewish Home party into a joint list with the Likud in the elections for the 21st Knesset.

Among other things, the prime minister met with a senior figure in religious Zionism who is considered to have a significant influence on what is happening in the Jewish Home party.

This senior official recently expressed his opposition to a move considered natural, that of an alliance between the Jewish Home and National Union in the coming elections.

The reports come amid Prime Minister Netanyahu's request from the Likud Central Committee to increase the number of seats he will be allowed to place on the party's Knesset list from one to three seats.

It should be noted that the talks were held as the public council of the Jewish Home Party has yet to announce who will be chairman of the Jewish Home in the upcoming elections.

The decision of the public Council is expected to be published later today and tomorrow will be submitted for approval by the Jewish Home Center, which will also elect the rest of the party's list to the Knesset.

Nir Orbach, director general of the Jewish Home, denied last night the reports about talks for a combined list between Jewish Home and Likud. "The Jewish Home party has held a complex and profound procedure in the past month to elect a chairman and a list to be a strong and influential party, and not a daughter party of the Likud."

6. ARABS ATTACK JEWISH HIKERS
by Arutz Sheva

A group of Arabs attacked Jewish hikers at the Aner springs in Samaria's Gush Talmonim Saturday. The hikers described a "massive" rock attack against them.

A military force arrived at the scene and arrested one of the Arabs. The soldiers used means of riot control to disperse the rest of the Arabs.

7. ABBAS BOYCOTTS SUPERMARKET MAGNATE: 'HE IS A SETTLER'
by Arutz Sheva Staff

Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas banned the participation of businessman Rami Levy, founder of the Israeli supermarket chain bearing his name, from a meeting between himself and his entourage with a forum of academics and businessmen seeking to advance political negotiations for a "two-state solution."

According to a report in Yediot Aharonot, the "Breaking the Impasse" forum, of which Levy is a member, met with Abbas last Thursday, and prior to the visit in Ramallah the list of participants was given. However, Abbas' associates ordered that Rami Levy's participation in the meeting be cancelled, asserting that Levy is "a settler."

The newspaper reported that "The condition transferred by the [Abbas] bureau left the forum members with two options: to give in and prevent Levy from arriving or to announce the cancellation of the meeting. The members of the forum chose to exclude Levy from the meeting."

Ilan Paz, one of the forum members who attended the meeting, told Yediot Aharonot that Levy's arrival at the meeting was sensitive to the Abbas bureau. According to Paz, it was agreed that a separate meeting would be held with Levy. Paz refused to address questions, however.

Rami Levy's worldview is based on creating coexistence via economic incentives. As part of this concept, Levy hires both Jews and Arabs as workers in the shopping centers he owns throughout Judea and Samaria, and is establishing a new "Israeli-Palestinian" mall in the Atarot industrial area of northern Jerusalem.

8. ARE LIKUD STAFF WORKING TO GET RID OF MINISTER KARA?
by Arutz Sheva Staff

Likud members who claim to be loyal to Prime Minister Netanyahu are not satisfied with Communications Minister Ayoub Kara and are working to prevent him from being named on the Likud's list for the upcoming elections, journalist Akiva Novik reported Saturday evening.

According to the report, the campaign to effectively end Minister Kara's political career stem from his performance as Communications Minister and his prediction that there would not be any major protests from the Druze community against the Nationality Law.

In recent days, an anonymous campaign signed by a body called "The Faithful of the Prime Minister" for "the acts of Minister Karra." The video portrays Kara as a fifth column, a failure, and embarrassment, and accuses him of disliking the prime minister's wife, Sarah Netanyahu.

Minister Kara responded to the campaign: "In recent days, anonymous and cowardly elements have been distributing videos in which there is an attempt to spoil my relations with the staff of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu. I want to inform those hostile elements that my relationship with the Prime Minister and the deep friendship between us is strong and stable and will continue to be so forever. On this occasion, I wish the Prime Minister many more years of good leadership of the people of Israel and the advancement and development of the state."
