1. ANALYSIS: KHAMENEI'S REGIME IN DANGER AS IRAN PREPARES FOR WAR
by Yochanan Visser

Islamic Jihad leader Ziyad Nakhalah this week confirmed that Iran has a plan to start a multiple-front-war against Israel.

While in Tehran, where he met with Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, Nakhalah told Al-Alam TV that the next confrontation with Israel would see fronts in the north and the south of the country.

In the next confrontation with the occupation the axis of resistance will operate from the north to the south, Nakhalah said adding that "there will be open channels of collaboration, without any limitation or red lines."

"Each Israeli attack will be answered with a reaction from the entire axis of resistance. All forces will participate in it, as they will form a single axis," the Islamic Jihad leader bragged as he touted the "qualitative developments in the capabilities of the Palestinian resistance."

Nakhalah also revealed the "entire axis of resistance will work together" and that it has a "plan to struggle against the 'occupation'."

The Palestinian Jihadist also hinted the 'resistance front' still has attack tunnels which would be used in the next war against Israel and would lead to the "defeat of the Zionist project" and its disappearance.

Nakhalah's visit to Iran came after he went to Lebanon to meet with Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasralah, another indication the so-called resistance front is preparing for war against Israel.

Khamenei on Monday promised the Islamic Jihad leader that the Palestinian Arabs would eventually "establish a government in Tel Aviv" and that with "the grace of Allah the Palestinian nation's victory will take place in the near future."

The Iranian Supreme Leader stepped up his belligerent rhetoric against Israel after President Donald Trump decided to cancel US participation in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, the nuclear deal with Iran.

His message in all the Tweets he fired off over the past 8 months was that Israel will disappear by "the grace of the resistance."

By upping up the pressure on Israel the Khamenei regime appears to be attempting to divert attention from the multiple problems in Iranian society.

Demonstrations against the Islamist regime continue with farmers and retirees taking to the streets in Tehran and Mashhad, Iran's second largest city.

The protesters chanted slogans against the regime and demanded their right on a decent living while accusing the government of repression.

Iranian farmers demanded the regime provide them with water and said they would be willing to die to get their rights.

"Death to the oppressor, Peace be upon the farmer; farmer dies, he does not accept humiliation; victory comes from God, death to this deceiving government and the deceitful person," the farmers and their wives chanted.

In the end, the Basiij militia of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps violently broke up the demonstrations and arrested a number of farmers and retirees.

Iran has witnessed increasing popular unrest and large demonstrations against the regime for a year now with truck drivers and entrepreneurs at Tehran's largest market taking the lead.

Influential Iranians now say that that there's a real possibility the political system in Iran will collapse.

Hassan Khomeini, the grandson of Ayatollah Khomeini, the Godfather of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, said this week "that there is no guarantee that the Islamic regime will continue to exist if it does not take into account several basic problems that require urgent attention."

The possible successor of the current Supreme Leader Khamenei added that "issues of tolerance, meritocracy, easing repression and hypocrisy" should be dealt with urgently by the regime "before it's too late."

Other's like Faezeh Hashemi, a former member of the Majlis (Iran's parliament) and daughter of former Iranian president Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani said in an interview with the paper Mostaghel that the Islamic ideology of the regime "has totally collapsed."

"The principles have already collapsed. We are not yet talking about a physical collapse, but I see (physical collapse) as a definite possibility ," according to Hashemi.

Influential Shiite cleric Mohammad Taqi Mesbah Yazdi this week admitted that the Iranian people are abandoning Islamic teachings and are increasingly becoming secular.

During an interview with the Islamist newspaper '9 Day' at the end of December 2018 Yazdi said that the ideals of the Islamic Revolution "have not materialized" and said that these ideals included "political freedom, equality and economic progress."

The spiritual leader indicated that he thinks the ideals of the Islamic revolution will only materialize in the next world which will arise after the coming of the Mahdi, the Shiite messiah who will establish a global Caliphate with Baghdad as its capital.

Iranian pundits claim that Khamenei is aware that a majority of Iranians want a Western-style democracy and that Yazdi indicated that the situation in Iran is "critical".

Khamenei, however, has no intention of shifting his attention from the expansion of the Islamic Revolution to the hardships of the Iranian people and simply wants the Iranians to obey his rulings, according to one commentator.

Indeed, the regime seems to realize that it is in danger and this week ordered the ban of the photo sharing Instagram app, a very popular social media platform among the Iranian population.

Other social media services in Iran had been banned earlier for the same reason the regime decided to ban Instagram: fear of a decisive popular uprising.

The internal problems in Iran will probably have no effect on the continuing Iranian entrenchment in Syria and Iraq and the preparations for war against Israel until the regime falls.

A former Iraqi government official on Wednesday effectively admitted that Iran is trying to take over Iraq when he warned that the Islamic Republic is recruiting Sunni tribes in Iraq for a future battle against US Special Forces in Iraq.

Atheel al-Nujaifi the former governor of the Nineveh Province said that the Iranian government already enjoys a great hegemony over the Shi'ite-led government of Iraq.

The new Iraqi government includes pro-Iranian parties and is becoming increasingly anti-American.

After President Donald Trump visited US troops in Iraq at the end of December, Iraqi MP's demanded an emergency session of the Iraqi parliament to discuss the expulsion of the US military from the country.

2. WAVE OF ARRESTS IN FIRST UNDERCOVER POLICE OPERATION OF 2019
by Arutz Sheva Staff

Police in the Lachish region of southern Israel carried out a wave of arrests this morning as part of the first undercover agent operation in 2019 by Police.

In recent months, the Lachish Central Unit of the Police had an undercover agent operating, gathering evidence against dozens of suspects, including minors, in drug trafficking offenses.

This morning a wave of arrests was carried out in the south, and later today police will request from the courts to have the suspects remain under arrest.

During the past six months in the course of the activities of the undercover agent and covert officers, the agent was able to collect incriminating evidence against 40 suspects from the southern region, among them a number of minors, the youngest of whom was 14 years old, who were arrested this morning by dozens of police officers.

The police agent acted by using a network of messages and texting with the suspects, revealing the identity of the suspects who ordered the drugs, coordinated the deliveries and distributions. After months of the undercover operation and gathering concrete evidence police raided this morning the homes of those suspected of trafficking and distributing dangerous materials such as crystal, LSD, cannabis (hydro), M.D.M.A and hashish.

The suspects arrested live in various areas in the south , mostly in Ashkelon, and will be brought to the Ashkelon Court later today.

3. FIRST PROPOSALS FOR NEW RIGHT LIST
by Arutz Sheva Staff

The New Right party that Ministers Naftali Bennett and Ayelet Shaked recently established, gave offers to two people to join the party list.

According to a report by Reshet Bet, the first two people to get a proposal to join the party list are: Brigadier General in the Reserves Gal Hirsch and former Ambassador to the UN and Great Britain Ron Prosor.

It should be noted that Brig. Gen. Gal Hirsch got a personal proposal from Minister Gilad Erdan for a seat in the Likud list. However, Minister Erdan's proposal was not an official proposal on behalf of his party.

So far, a response from Hirsch and Prosor to Shaked and Bennett's proposal has not been published.

4. TERRORIST'S FAMILY TOLD: TURN HIM IN OR GO TO JERICHO
by Orli Harari

Mohammed Barghouti, the 17-year-old brother of Salah Barghouti, the terrorist who carried out the attack near Ofra last month and of Issam Barghouti, who carried out the attack in Givat Assaf, was arrested last night by the IDF along with several other family members.

According to a report on the PA news agency Shehab, the security forces threatened to expel the terrorist's family to Jericho if they did not turn over his brother, Issam Barghouti, suspected of the attack in Givat Assaf, in which two soldiers were murdered and a soldier and a civilian were seriously wounded.

Salah Barghouti, who is suspected of carrying out the attack in Ofra, was eliminated by a Yamam police force during an attempted arrest a few days after the attack in which seven people were wounded, including a pregnant woman whose baby was delivered but died as a result of the attack shortly thereafter. The father of the three is Omar Barghouti, who was held cumulatively in Israeli prison for 28 years.

Sergeant Yuval Mor Yosef, 20, from Ashkelon, and Sergeant Yossi Cohen, 19, of Jerusalem, were murdered in the attack at Givat Assaf. At the time of the attack, Issam Barghouti managed to steal the weapon of one of the soldiers before returning to his car and fleeing the scene. In the attack in Ofra, Shira Ish-Ran was seriously wounded while seven months pregnant, and her baby died as a result of the attack.

5. MT. HERZL TRAGEDY: ENGINEER TO GO TO PRISON
by Arutz Sheva Staff

Sunday morning, The Jerusalem District Court rejected an appeal filed by Engineer Oren Warshavsky. Warshavsky, who was convicted in the negligent homicide of Lieutenant Hila Batzaleli when a lighting rig on Mount Herzl collapsed in 2012.

Warshavsky, who was responsible for the structure that held the lighting system on the central stage on Mt. Herzl, asserted in his appeal that substantial information was concealed regarding the instability of the building days before the collapse.

On the other hand, the State Attorney's Office appealed the leniency of Warshavsky's original sentence of 400 hours of community service.

In that appeal the State Attorney's office argued that the punishment was not proportionate to the severity of the crime. He was then sentenced to nine months in prison.

Last month, the Jerusalem District Court accepted the appeal from the State Attorney's office and extended his sentence to 6 months of community service. In addition, Warshavsky was ordered to pay 10,000 NIS to Lieutenant Batzaleli's family, as well as to two other soldier who were injured in the collapse.

In an agreement reached between his attorneys and those of the State Attorney's office. Warshavsky withdrew his appeal against the verdict and announced that he will be taking responsibility for his actions.

Today, the judges accepted the arrangement.

6. TWO TERROR ORPHANS ENGAGED
by Arutz Sheva Staff

Ayelet Dikstein and Avigdor Gvish who had both lost their parents in terror attacks almost 20 years ago are engaged. The two met at a support group for orphans.

Sunday morning, Amihai Itali for Yediot Aharonot reported on the engagement ceremony that took place on Saturday. The happy occasion was marred by the fact that their parents could not be there, having been murdered.

For Avigdor's family, terror struck in 2002, during the Second Intifada, when he was just a 19-year-old soldier. It was at the end of the Pesach Seder, a day after the horrific massacre at the Park Hotel in Netanya. A Palestinian terrorist infiltrated the family home in the Samarian community of Elon Moreh. The terrorist opened fire on the family, critically wounding his father, David, who later died of his wounds. Also murdered were Avigdor's mother, Rachel, and her father Yitzchak Kanar who joined the family for the seder. His brother Avraham, who was serving as a Major in the elite Sayeret Matkal unit was shot as well.

The injured Avraham asked Avigdor to bring him his weapon that was upstairs. Having just drafted, Avigdor did not yet know how to shoot, but did as he was asked. Avraham's condition worsened and he found it difficult operate the weapon. He later died of his wounds. The terrorist was killed by IDF forces.

Four months later, terror struck Ayelet's family.

At the end of July 2002, the Dikstein family were driving from their family home in Psagot to visit family in Yeshiv Ma'on, in the Hevron Hills. Their car was fired on by terrorists. Ayelet's little brother, Shoval, was hit, as well as their mother, Chana.

Her father, Yosef, stopped the car to try and help his wife and young son, but was shot to death. The mother and young son later died of their wounds.

Ayelet, a young girl at the time, resourcefully helped her other brothers in the car as they were under attack.

Over the years, Ayelet and Avigdor would meet at support groups for orphans run by One Family. There they found that they had a lot in common. As time went by the bond between them grew, and they started dating two years ago.

On Friday, before they announced their engagement, the couple went to Elon Moreh cemetery to visit Avigdor's parents David and Rachel, his grandfather, Yitzchak Kanar, and his older brother Avraham that were murdered in the attack.

From their they went to the Psagot cemetery to visit Ayelet's parents, Yosef and Chana and her young brother Shoval that were murdered.

Only afterwards, did the couple announce their decision to marry to the rest of the families and friends.

The couple celebrated their engagement in Elkana, at the home of Avigdor's brother.

There was a lot of excitement and happiness, but also sadness and pain that the murdered family members will not be at their wedding.

7. 'POLICE ARE PREVENTING US FROM REACHING DEMONSTRATION'
by Arutz Sheva Staff

Police and Shin Bet security forces are blocking the entrance to the community of Kochav Hashahar, inspecting every vehicle that leaves, questioning the passengers and harassing the residents.

The forces also set up a checkpoint at the Kochav Hashachar junction and are checking every vehicle that seeks to arrive at a demonstration this evening in Paris Square in Jerusalem.

This evening there will be a mass demonstration in front of the Prime Minister's Residence in Jerusalem, in light of the arrest of the three young men from the Judea and Samaria by the Shin Bet. Rabbis, public figures, council heads and residents of Judea and Samaria are expected to protest against the Shin Bet's violent conduct against young people in Judea and Samaria.

The demonstrators will demand that Prime Minister Netanyahu, who is in charge of the Shin Bet security service, stop the rampage of members of the "Jewish Department" of the Shin Bet to stop the practice of prohibiting minors from meeting with an attorney and the abusive interrogation methods used against minors, as revealed in an "Uvda" investigation.

"In no other place in the country would law enforcement authorities allow themselves to break into a classroom in the middle of a class, arrest a student in a showy way and issue draconian orders," the organizers said. "Residents of Judea and Samaria also have rights."
