1. 'AS LONG AS I AM PRIME MINISTER, NO JEW WILL BE UPROOTED'
by Ido Ben Porat

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Transportation and Intelligence Minister Yisrael Katz inaugurated the "Adam Interchange" in the Mateh Binyamin Regional Council on Tuesday morning.

The interchange is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion in the area and improve passenger safety. More than NIS 60 million ($16 million) was invested in the construction of the interchange.

As part of the project, which was carried out by Netivei Israel, a level separator was established, enabling continuous and safe traffic on Route 60 and Highway 437, which leads from Jerusalem to Beit El in both directions. At the top of the separator there is a traffic circle that will significantly improve traffic flow for the many road users in the area.

Prime Minister Netanyahu addressed the incident at the Ofra junction. "I wish a speedy and complete recovery to all those wounded in the attack, and of course to Shira Ish-Ran and her baby son, who is still struggling for his life, and we all pray from the bottom of our hearts for an improvement in his condition.

"This act of terror, like others, shows the depth of our enemies' hatred of us, the Jews and the Israelis. They have no moral inhibitions when they come to harm innocents. We will pursue those responsible for the attack and make them pay the price.

"We will show that their desire to uproot us from our land will it a brick wall. They want to uproot us from here, but they won't. As long as I am the prime minister of Israel, not a single Jew will be uprooted from his home, and not only will they not be uprooted from their homes, they will build their homes and add to them."

Netanyahu emphasized that "here in this place were our ancestors thousands of years ago - names like Geva Binyamin, Michmash, Ofra and Anatot take us straight to the days of the Bible. These are places that are at the heart of our history three thousand years ago, the Kingdom of Saul and then the Kingdom of Judah. These places come straight from the Bible, the heart of our homeland, and we will continue to strengthen settlement in it."

"That's what we are doing today. We are opening a new interchange, which of course brings a tremendous message to the residents of the area because the Adam-Hizma ridge, which burdened drivers daily, is changing its face. This allows for a significant easing of traffic congestion from Jerusalem and to Jerusalem.

The Prime Minister made it clear that "we are not stopping here, we will complete the construction of bypass roads, widening lanes, improving infrastructures. There is a dual aspect here, both transportation and security combined. We make one more big connection - we connect the country geographically, but we also connect the present with the future. On this day and in this place we do something else, we connect the present with the past."

"Our forefathers have walked here in this landscape, in these valleys and mountains, the greatest dramas in the history of our people and humanity have taken place here, and so we are connecting our past to our future, and that is a great privilege.

"Our generation has a huge privilege: Our parents' generation returned what was lost and we promise that what has been returned will be for all future generations, will live forever and will ensure the eternity of Israel," Netanyahu said.

2. BABYSITTER INDICTED FOR ASSAULTING BABY, CAUSING BRAIN DAMAGE
by Arutz Sheva Staff

A babysitter in Jerusalem has been indicted in connection with the abuse of an infant which left with permanent serious injuries, including brain damage.

Jerusalem district prosecutors charged 55-year-old Itta Rabinovitch with assaulting an infant and causing serious physical harm.

The case revolves around an incident in May 2017, when Rabinovitch was working as a babysitter out of her private apartment.

In May 2017, Rabinovitch began caring for the child involved in the case, who was seven months old at the time.

According to the indictment, two days after she was hired to care for the child, Rabinovitch violently shook the infant, resulting in brain damage.

Rabinovitch did not hold the child's head while she shook him, causing his head to shake back and forth. During the incident, the infant lost consciousness.

Rather than call emergency services, however, Rabinvotich called her husband, telling him that the child had lost consciousness. Her husband then called the MDA emergency first responder organization to call for assistance on the child's behalf.

MDA emergency medical teams arrived at Rabinovitch's apartment and found the child unconscious and struggling to breathe.

The first responders questioned Rabinovitch in an attempt to ascertain how the child was injured, but Rabinovitch remained silent and refused to cooperate with the medical team.

As a result of the abuse, the infant suffered serious brain damage, cerebral edema, and other serious injuries.

The child was rushed to an emergency room intensive care unit, where he remained for two weeks.

Today the child suffers from severe developmental problems and partial blindness in his left eye and problems with his right eye requiring multiple surgeries.

3. 'WE BUILT AND BUILT (THE LEAST)'
by Hezki Baruch

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said Monday at a meeting of the Likud faction that he is building Judea and Samaria as much as possible, but his remarks contradict statements he made in 2015.

"[I am] a prime minister who stood against two very difficult US presidents and we built and built and built," Netanyahu told members of the Likud faction following the demand in the national camp to approve construction after the attack in Ofra.

Netanyahu's words are cast in doubt in light of what he testified in 2015, when he delivered a speech at the Zionist World Congress in Jerusalem. "In my first term in office, we built an average of 3,000 units annually in Judea and Samaria. In Barak's single year he built 5,000, in [the term of] Sharon it was down to 1,900, in [the term of] Olmert it was down to 1,700.

"Given the circumstances, in my successive terms, it's down to 1,500. There are reasons for that we can discuss some other time, but facts are facts. These numbers are exact. So, far from seeing settlement surge, there has actually been a decline," Netanyahu said then.

by David Rosenberg

Two attempted ramming attacks on Israeli security forces were foiled in Judea and Samaria Tuesday morning.

In one incident in the Palestinian Authority-controlled town of Idhna, near Hevron in Judea, a Palestinian vehicle attempted to run down Border Police officers while fleeing Israeli security personnel during an enforcement operation by the Israeli Defense Ministry's Civil Administration.

According to a statement by a spokesperson for the Border Police, the driver attempted to run down Border Police officers who were securing the perimeter during the Civil Administration's enforcement operation.

Israeli security personnel opened fire on the vehicle during the apparent ramming attack. No injuries were reported among the Israeli forces at the scene. The terrorist was shot and killed.

"A short time ago a report was received regarding a Palestinian vehicle in the village of Idhna near Hevron which had tried to flee from security forces during an enforcement operation of the Civil Administration. The vehicle apparently attempted to run over Border Police officers who were securing the area."

"Shots were fire at the Palestinian vehicle. There were no injuries to Israeli forces."

Arab media outlets identified the terrorist killed during the Idhna attack as 27-year-old Omar Awwad.

A second incident was also reported during an enforcement operation against illegal buildings in Samaria, in the northern Jordan Valley area.

A Palestinian vehicle which attempted to ram Israeli security forces was fired upon during the incident. Israeli security forces later apprehended the driver and placed him under arrest.

Both incidents are currently under investigation.

The pair of attempted attacks come days after a cell of Palestinian Arab terrorists opened fire on Israeli civilians waiting at a bus stop near the town of Ofra, north of Jerusalem.

Seven people were wounded in the drive-by shooting attack, including a 21-year-old pregnant woman who was evacuated in critical condition and given an emergency caesarian section.

The parents of the young mother who was critically wounded in the shooting attack in Ofra last night, spoke to Arutz Sheva about the attack which left their son-in-law wounded and their daughter and newborn grandson fighting for their lives.

"This is like your worst nightmare coming true," Shira Ish-Ran's mother said. "You're always on the other side, hearing about terror attacks that happen, and it's always happening to somebody else."

"I was just having a regular evening. I was working at home. My husband came in and he said that there'd been a terror attack and that we had to go straight away to the hospital. I just took my telephone and my Siddur (prayer book) and we just ran out of the house.

"We were driving on the road, and my husband told me that Amichai, our son-in-law, had called and that he was in an ambulance and that there'd been a shooting - we didn't even know about the shooting," she added.

"We got to the hospital and we were told that our daughter was in a very difficult situation. She was shot in her lower abdomen and that they were going to have to do a C-Section and take the baby out. She was only 30 weeks [pregnant]. They said to us that obviously the most important thing was to save her, and we said obviously.

"We were up the whole night. I was saying Tehilim (Psalms) after Tehilim after Tehilim. It was just very tense. In the middle of it, they came out and told us that there had been a very big progress. Then, suddenly, they came out and said that there's some problem we had to wait about an hour and a half to find out that she was going to make it.

"We keep davening (praying) for her recovery and for the recovery of the baby, who needs a lot of prayers," she said. "The baby's in danger."

8. WILL BRAZIL HAVE TROUBLE RELOCATING ITS EMBASSY?
by Elad Benari

Brazilian President-elect Jair Bolsonaro said during a meeting two weeks ago with US National Security Adviser John Bolton that no final decision had yet been made on the relocation of Brazil's embassy to Jerusalem and that there were various issues on the agenda before a final decision is reached, Kan 11 News reported on Monday.

According to the report, Bolsonaro's main concern is possible damage to Brazil's trade relations with Muslim countries if a decision is made to relocate the embassy.

Bolton told Bolsonaro that the United States was ready to help Brazil in any way to promote the transfer of the embassy.

American sources who were present at the meeting said that the Brazilian president was very interested in moving his country's embassy to Jerusalem, but he was not sure he could do so due to internal politics in his country.

After being elected, Bolsonaro announced via Twitter that he intended to uphold his campaign promise and move the Brazilian embassy to Jerusalem.

"As previously stated during our campaign, we intend to transfer the Brazilian Embassy from Tel-Aviv to Jerusalem. Israel is a sovereign state and we shall duly respect that," he wrote.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu later hailed Bolsonaro's announcement. Palestinian Arab leaders, however, condemned the move.

Monday's report comes two weeks after Bolsonaro's son, Eduardo, met with US President Donald Trump's son-in-law and adviser Jared Kushner.

Reshet Bet reported at the time that the son of the Brazilian President-elect stressed at the meeting that the Brazilian embassy in Israel would move to Jerusalem.

"We do not know the date for the relocation of the Brazilian embassy to Jerusalem or when it will happen, but we have an intention to do so. The question should not be whether we will do it, but when we will do it," said Eduardo Bolsonaro.
