Two people were murdered at the junction near the community of Givat Assaf in the Binyamin region, between the towns of Beit El and Ofra, after a terrorist opened fire on soldiers and civilians standing at a hitchhiking station.

MDA emergency medical teams treated two others who were wounded. An Israeli man was evacuated to Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital in Jerusalem in critical condition, while an Israeli woman was evacuated to Shaarei Tzedek hospital in Jerusalem in serious condition.

Initial investigations indicate that that a terrorist arrived in a vehicle to the Givat Assag junction, got out of the vehicle and approached the hitchhiking station there, and opened fire on people standing at the junction. The terrorist then returned to his car and, with the assistance of another terrorist in the vehicle, escaped from the scene unharmed. Following the attack, the IDF bolstered forces in the area and encircled the city of Ramallah.

The IDF said in a statement: "Following reports of a shooting in the Binyamin region, a terrorist got out of his car and opened fire on IDF forces and civilians who were at the hitchhiking station at the junction. A number of wounded persons are at the scene."

"IDF forces are searching the area for the terrorists, who escaped the scene, and are carrying out checks at all the entrances and exits in the area."

Paramedic Shalom Galil described the scene of the attack.

"When we arrived, we saw four young men with gunshot wounds near the hitchhiking station. We conducted searches and administered medical aid. Two of them, a young woman and a young man about 20 years of age, received life-saving medical treatment at the scene. We evacuated them to the hospital as they were in critical condition. Two youths in critical condition remained for treatment by IDF forces at the scene."

MK Betzalel Smotrich (Jewish Home) responded to news of the attack.

"After the difficult aftermath of the attack now, the Jewish Home must demand from Netanyahu to immediately close roads in Judea and Samaria to Palestinians, and to pass next week our law to normalize the young settlements. We cannot be responsible for the abandonment of Jewish blood."

Writing on Twitter, Jewish Home MK Moti Yogev, a member of the Knesset foreign affairs and defense committee, said, "The large number of attacks in Judea and Samaria is inconsistent with the desire of the defense establishment to reduce the forces in Judea and Samaria. I call on the prime minister and the defense minister to freeze the reduction of forces and to reassess the security situation, in order to grant more tools to create deterrence, defense and security for the residents of Judea and Samaria."

Secretary General of the National Union, Ofir Sofer, responded, "In the year 1996, the Oslo crisis exploded in the face of Netanyahu and the entire people of Israel with the events of the Kotel tunnel. If the government of Israel doesn't recover, we will get hit with a heavy terror onslaught."

Zionist Union MK Michal Biran responded, "Less than a day after we buried the newborn of Shira and Amichai, another terrible attack. New families are added to the bereaved family. The calls made by Shaked, Smotrich and others that will soon be heard again, that settlement in Ofra and its environs must be normalized, is pure populism and crude dancing on the blood of the dead and the wounded. Murder does not confer [land] ownership, and this is not the time or place to deliberate over it."

2. THIS IS HOW THE BARKAN TERRORIST WAS ELIMINATED

A senior military officer spoke this morning about the complex operation to capture Barkan attack terrorist Ashraf Na'alwa which ended in his elimination.

The senior officer said that the terrorist was hiding in the Askar refugee camp in Shechem and planned to carry out additional attacks: "The terrorist was defined by us as a violent attacker and therefore there was urgency to kill him before he carried out another attack. It has been a whole week since entire units in the army have stopped their operations in order to deal exclusively with pursuing him."

The army knows that the terrorist hid in the past two months in Samaria, and forces chased him everywhere.

According to the senior officer, the Barkan terrorist was a "lone wolf" attacker, and only during the hunt for him and his escape did he get help from various people in the area who were not part of any squad.

"The information about his location was received yesterday by the Shin Bet. We arrived covertly to the area, and our working assumption was that he would fight and not surrender. The urgency was to arrest him before he carried out another attack. We will be investigating the path he traversed over the last two months."

"This year, we arrested 2,700 terrorists who planned to carry out terrorist attacks, and some of them succeed in carrying out their attacks, as in this case," the officer said. "The big story of Judea and Samaria is the very fact that the thwarting of terror attempts is being done deep in the field, and it this that allows for the prevention of thousands of terrorists from carrying out their plots."

Regarding the cell that carried out the attack at the Ofra junction, the officer said: "We are in a process. It is not certain that the entire squad has been caught, and therefore we are prepared to defend the settlements and civilians."

According to the senior officer, Hamas is the most violent organization in Judea and Samaria and is making great efforts to carry out attacks, most of which are successfully thwarted.

"Deterrence exists but in order to preserve it, we need to keep working. Lately, we see attempts to carry out terrorist attacks, and the weaker the Palestinian Authority is, the more likely the terrorists are to carry out attacks."

3. FATAH PRAISES TERRORISTS ELIMINATED LAST NIGHT
by Arutz Sheva Staff

The Fatah movement, the main organization of the PLO, headed by Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, praised the murderers that the IDF eliminated last night.

The Twitter account of the movement published Thursday morning pictures of the two terrorists who were killed tonight with the inscription "The heroic martyr" on each of them.

"The heroic fallen of the homeland, in their pure blood, are sketching the map of our homeland. For a free and Arab Palestine. Honor and glory to you."

It should be noted that, on the same Twitter account over the last hour, a number of tweets expressing clear support for the terrorists who carried out the murderous shooting attack at the Givat Assaf junction appeared.

The elimination of the terrorist who carried out the stabbing attack in the Old City of Jerusalem is described on the Twitter account as "the death of a young man by the occupation in Jerusalem."

4. OFRA ATTACK TERRORIST ELIMINATED NEAR RAMALLAH
by Arutz Sheva Staff

On Wednesday evening, special forces conducted an exchange of fire with terrorists inside the village of Surda in the Ramallah area.

The terrorists in question are apparently those who carried out the shooting attack four days ago near Ofra.

According to preliminary reports, one of the terrorists, Salah Bharghouti, was eliminated, apparently by "Yamam" special forces. A second terrorist suspected of involvement in the attack was arrested by security forces in the Ramallah area.

Earlier Wednesday, the baby who was delivered prematurely after his mother was critically wounded in the shooting attack at the Ofra Junction on Sunday died, Shaare Tzedek Medical Center announced.

"We regretfully announce the death of Shira and Amichai's child four days after the attack, despite the efforts of the medical doctors to save him," the hospital said in a statement.

The baby's funeral is to take place at 9:45 pm at the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem.

Shira Ish-Ran was shot in the lower abdomen. Doctors were forced to perform C-Section to deliver her child at 30 weeks. Both mother and child fought for their lives over the week. The child's father, Amichai, was shot three times in the attack but was not in mortal danger from his wounds.

Five other civilians were also wounded in the attack.

5. HOW CAN CHILDREN DIE AT A YOUNG AGE IN A TERRORIST ATTACK?
by Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu

They die at a young age in a terrorist attack because there are murderers who murder them. And these murderers are bad people who shouldn't be here at all and certainly shouldn't walk around freely.

We're also partially guilty. We unfortunately release murderers so why shouldn't they murder again? Clearly, the main culprit is the murderer, but also those who released murderers in a gesture to Abbas or Gilad Shalit are partners in this disaster.

What does every terrorist tell himself? "If I die, I'll get paradise. And if not, I'll get a decent salary from Israelis' money. And then the Israelis will release me in a deal or gesture" - why shouldn't he go murder?

Don't ask questions of G-d who will leave the murderers to those who leave them here, and don't throw them to the countries of their blood-loving friends (like Syria).

G-d isn't responsible for the nonsense that human beings do. This is what the wisest of men, King Solomon said: "The foolishness of man makes crooked his path, and with the L-rd will his heart be angry." (Proverbs 19:3).

7. CHILD BORN IN WAKE OF OFRA TERROR ATTACK DIES
by Gary Willig

The baby who was delivered prematurely after his mother was critically wounded in a shooting attack at the Ofra Junction on Sunday has died, Shaare Tzedek Medical Center announced on Wednesday.

"We regretfully announce the death of Shira and Amichai's child four days after the attack, despite the efforts of the medical doctors to save him," the hospital said in a statement.

Shira's condition had improved and she had been asking about her baby. A few hours ago, she was able to see her child for the first time.

Israeli ministers reacted with sorrow to the news of the child's passing.

Education Minister Naftali Bennett stated: "A Jewish baby who has not yet been named has been murdered. Palestinian terrorists shot an unborn child; and he was born out of the fire. His short life was spent in the struggle for his life. Our hearts with Amichai and Shira. The heart cries out."

"This is the low-life murder carried out by terrorists who have stopped being afraid of us. The lost deterrence must be restored. Otherwise a wave of murders is on the way. Not by declarations, by deeds," he added.

Social Equality Minister Gila Gamliel wrote on her Twitter account: "The heart aches at the terrible news of the passing of the baby whose mother was seriously injured in the attack at the Ofra Junction. I send my condolences to the parents Amichai and Shira Ish-Ran and share their sorrow. My heart is with the family."

"We will catch the despicable murderers and punish with them the full extent of the law."

Former Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon wrote: "Only bloodthirsty terrorists are capable of murdering a child in his mother's womb. We embrace and comfort Shira and Amichai and wish them full recovery.
We trust the IDF and Shin Bet security service to quickly apprehend the murderers. They will not defeat us!"

Agriculture Minister Uri Ariel wrote: "Baruch Dayan Haemet (a blessing traditionally stated after hearing news of a death). The baby whose mother was seriously injured in the attack at the Ofra junction passed away. I visited them at the beginning of the week and prayed for his safety."

"The attack was carried out by terrible torturers. The murderers must be apprehended, their homes demolished, and Ofra should be organized as soon as possible. Consolation will come with the building of the land."

Science and Technology Minister Ophir Akunis stated: ""How cruel, base, and inhumane can a two-legged animal be to shoot a pregnant woman?"

"These are our Palestinian "neighbors," who send out such vermin like the terrorist who sang songs at the entrance to Ofra. My condolences to Shira and Amichai Lev Ran for the terrible loss of their four-day-old baby. And when we know who this abominable culprit is, the entire family that raised such a murderer must be expelled from their home, without the Supreme Court and without B'Tselem."

The Elon Moreh municipality, where Shira and Amichai lived, expressed its shock and sadness at the loss of one of its newest residents.

"The Elon Moreh municipality embraces the residents of the settlement of Shira and Amichai Ish-Ran during their difficult time. We are shocked and hurt and call upon the prime minister and the defense minister to strengthen deterrence against terrorism and at the same time to cut off our enemy's hopes by strengthening our hold on Elon Moreh and settling in Judea and Samaria."

8. ILLINOIS BOARD RULES AIRBNB VIOLATING STATE LAWS
by Elad Benari

An independent board in Illinois voted on Wednesday afternoon to notify online lodging website Airbnb that it is violating state laws barring the economic boycott of Israel, The Washington Free Beacon reports.

Airbnb caused an uproar last month when it decided to remove listings for about 200 homes in Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria.

Tourism Minister Yariv Levin (Likud) blasted Airbnb's decision as "disgraceful and miserable" and demanded that the site cancel the decision.

Similarly, the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations criticized the decision and said it violates the principles of open commerce and the spirit and letter of several federal and state laws prohibiting discriminatory practices, including boycotts.

Airbnb's decision also stoked outrage on Capitol Hill. Illinois Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner and Florida Republican Gov.-elect Ron DeSantis both publicly stated that their states are examining whether Airbnb violated laws barring US companies from engaging with the BDS movement.

With the decision on Wednesday, noted The Free Beacon, Illinois became the first state to take firm action against Airbnb.

The Illinois Investment Policy Board Committee on Israel Boycott Restrictions, which includes appointees of the governor and representatives of the state pension board, unanimously voted to notify Airbnb that it is in violation of state laws.

Shortly after, the full board also unanimously voted to notify Airbnb, which now has 90 days to respond before it is blacklisted in Illinois.

One former top Illinois state official who was involved in creating anti-BDS legislation mandating Illinois divest from any company backing Israel boycotts, the nation's first, told The Free Beacon that a blacklisting by the state could negatively impact Airbnb when it goes public in the near future.

"This is a watershed moment for anti-BDS laws in America," the source said. "If I'm an investor looking at a possible IPO next year, this is very worrisome."

Two weeks ago, a group of Jewish Americans sued Airbnb Inc. in a US federal court following the its decision to boycott Israeli communities, accusing the company of religious discrimination.

A separate lawsuit challenging Airbnb's policy was filed in a Jerusalem court on November 22.
