On Wednesday morning, the traditional Priestly Blessing will take place in Western Wall Plaza in Jerusalem.

Thousands of Jews and hundreds of kohanim (from the priestly tribe) from around Israel and around the world are already at the Wall.

US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman also attended the event.

Speaking to Arutz Sheva, Friedman said, "It is a great privilege to be a kohen and to have the opportunity to bless the Nation of Israel from the Kotel (Western Wall - ed.). This is my third time as Ambassador at Birkat Kohanim (the Priestly Blessing - ed.) and each time gets more exciting and meaningful."

The commandment to bless the Jewish people and the words of the blessing are found in the Bible (Numbers 6: 22-27). Two tiny silver amulets containing scrolls on which parts of the blessing were written were found in a 7th century B.C.E. burial site in Jerusalem in 1979.

2. FIRST TIME: CHINA TO ISRAEL IN 8 HOURS
by Mordechai Sones

Tourism Minister Yariv Levin (Likud) received the first flight of China's Sichuan Airlines, which landed at Ben-Gurion Airport for the first time in Israel.

The flight from Changdao is the shortest flight from China to Israel - 8 hours and 20 minutes long - and was inaugurated this morning in continuation of cooperation with the Tourism Ministry as part of the aviation grants to encourage incoming tourism to Israel.

Tourism Minister Levin congratulated Sichuan Airlines on its decision to start operating in Israel and to open a direct line. "Sichuan Airlines is the second airline from China to operate in Israel as part of its cooperation with the Tourism Ministry, and the new line, the fourth, joins other lines operating from China."

Levin says, "Cooperation with Sichuan Airlines was created following my visit to China last year, when I visited Changdo. I met with the company's management and offered them the ministry grant to open the line.

"I'm convinced the line will lead to further growth in incoming tourism to Israel and will join our extraordinary marketing effort, which already led to breaking all-time highs in incoming tourism to Israel," emphasized the Minister.

3. DUNKIN' DONUTS DROPS THE DONUT
by Arutz Sheva Staff

Dunkin' Donuts will drop the "donuts" from its name as of January, as part of a rebranding effort.

Donuts will still be served at Dunkin' locations.

The chain carried out a test run with a new branch opened last year in Pasadena, CA, and another branch near Boston Common.

According to reports, the company wants customers to think of it as a coffee shop instead of just a donut shop.

The chain will also narrow its menu, focusing more on beverages - which, according to CNBC, represent 60% of sales - and less on food.

The company stressed that its logo, pink and orange with a rounded font, will remain the same, other than the removal of the word "Donuts."

4. IDF CENTRAL COMMANDER VISITS SUKKAH IN BEIT ARYEH
by Mordechai Sones

IDF Central Commander Maj. Gen. Nadav Padan visited Beit Aryeh Council head Avi Naim this morning and was hosted in his sukkah.

During the visit, the general heard from the council head a community survey and the history of the area, and blessed on the four species.

Beit Aryeh Council head Avi Naim said after the visit that "sitting in the sukkah is an opportunity for the Jewish People to reflect on our transience as human beings and on the importance of our mission and strengthening Jewish settlement in the Land of Israel.

"We cherish, appreciate, and love the soldiers and commanders of the IDF and heartfelt thanks to Major General Nadav Padan for his dedication to the people of Israel," concluded Naim.

US President Donald Trump on Tuesday addressed the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York City.

Trump said that America was "stronger, safer and richer" than it was when he first came into office, emphasizing that "America is governed by Americans. We reject the ideology of globalism, and we embrace the doctrine of patriotism."

"America will always choose independence and cooperation over global governance, control and domination," he said.

"I honor the right of every nation in this room to pursue its own customs, beliefs, and traditions. The United States will not tell you how to live or work or worship. We only ask that you honor our sovereignty in return."

He praised "great strides" and "historic change" being made in the Middle East as a result of new US policy.

"Following my trip to Saudi Arabia last year, the Gulf countries opened a new center to target terrorist financing. They are enforcing new sanctions, working with us to identify and track terrorist networks, and taking more responsibility for fighting terrorism and extremism in their own region.

"The UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar have pledged billions of dollars to aid the people of Syria and Yemen. And they are pursuing multiple avenues to ending Yemen's horrible, horrific civil war.

"Ultimately, it is up to the nations of the region to decide what kind of future they want for themselves and their children.

"For that reason, the United States is working with the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jordan, and Egypt to establish a regional strategic alliance so that Middle Eastern nations can advance prosperity, stability, and security across their home region."

Trump slammed the Iranian regime, noting that its leaders "sow chaos, death, and destruction" and "do not respect the sovereign rights of nations," reinforcing his decision to withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal and reimpose sanctions.

"We cannot allow the world's leading sponsor of terrorism to possess the planet's most dangerous weapons. We cannot allow a regime that chants 'Death to America,' and that threatens Israel with annihilation, to possess the means to deliver a nuclear warhead to any city on Earth. Just can't do it," he said.

"We ask all nations to isolate Iran's regime as long as its aggression continues. And we ask all nations to support Iran's people as they struggle to reclaim their religious and righteous destiny."

He also addressed his decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and subsequently to move the US embassy to Jerusalem.

"The United States is committed to a future of peace and stability in the region, including peace between the Israelis and the Palestinians," he said, emphasizing that this aim was "advanced, not harmed, by acknowledging the obvious facts."

"America's policy of principled realism means we will not be held hostage to old dogmas, discredited ideologies, and so-called experts who have been proven wrong over the years, time and time again," Trump said.

6. TAMIMI: OUR GOAL IS TO REMOVE ISRAEL
by Dalit Halevy

Ahed Tamimi, the PA teenager from the village of Nabi Saleh who served an eight-month prison sentence for attacking IDF soldiers, visited France in order to increase public support for the "Palestinian cause" and opposition to Israel.

In a video in which she summarizes her impressions of the visit, Tamimi says, "When I arrived in France I saw how much people loved us and supported us and how they were interested in the Palestinian cause and the liberation of Palestine. That made me very happy. "

"We want the next generation to be liberated like everyone else in the world. Palestine is the land of peace that has never experienced peace. It was important to meet with official figures so they would exert pressure on Israel." she adds.

Speaking during her visit in France, Tamimi presented the true goal of the "Palestinian cause."

"Our goal is not only to remove the settlement in Nabi Saleh, our goal is to remove the occupation, all of it, the large settlement, which is Israel."

7. BOLTON WARNS IRAN: IF YOU CROSS US THERE WILL BE 'HELL TO PAY'
by Elad Benari

[youtube:2047586]

US National Security Adviser John Bolton on Tuesday issued a warning to Iran, telling the regime in a fiery speech in New York that there will be "hell to pay" if it continues on its current course.

"If you cross us, our allies, or our partners ... yes, there will indeed be hell to pay," said Bolton, who was quoted by Fox News, in a speech before the United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI) annual summit.

"According to the mullahs in Tehran, we are 'the Great Satan,' lord of the underworld, master of the raging inferno," Bolton said. "So, I might imagine they would take me seriously when I assure them today: If you cross us, our allies, or our partners; if you harm our citizens; if you continue to lie, cheat and deceive, yes, there will indeed be hell to pay."

"The ayatollahs have a choice to make. We have laid out a path toward a bright and prosperous future for all of Iran, one that is worthy of the Iranian people, who have long suffered under the regime's tyrannical rule," added Bolton.

Iran, he continued, "brazenly supports the criminal Assad regime in Syria" and was "complicit in Assad's chemical weapons attacks on his own people." He also called Iran the world's "worst kidnapper of US citizens."

Bolton also dismissed the Obama-era nuclear deal with Iran, saying it was "the worst diplomatic debacle in American history."

US President Donald Trump withdrew from the Iran deal in May. Recently, the President signed an executive order officially reinstating US sanctions against Iran.

The deal contained numerous provisions -- including "weasel words," Bolton said Tuesday -- that White House officials found insufficient, such as limited inspection mechanisms to ensure Iran's compliance with the deal, as well as sunset provisions that would lift various restrictions on Iran's nuclear program in as little as 10 years.

The deal "did nothing to address the regime's destabilizing activities or its ballistic missile development and proliferation. Worst of all, the deal failed in its fundamental objective: permanently denying Iran all paths to a nuclear bomb," continued Bolton.

"The United States is not naïve," he stressed. "We will not be duped, cheated, or intimidated again. The days of impunity for Tehran and its enablers are over. The murderous regime and its supporters will face significant consequences if they do not change their behavior. Let my message today be clear: We are watching, and we will come after you."

Earlier on Tuesday, Trump addressed the UN General Assembly in New York City and slammed the Iranian regime, noting its leaders "sow chaos, death, and destruction" and "do not respect the sovereign rights of nations."

8. 'ISRAEL WILL THINK TWICE BEFORE ATTACKING'
by Nitsan Keidar

Syria's Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad said Israel should "think twice" before attacking Iranian bases in Syria.

Speaking with China's Xinhua news agency, Mekdad said the next shipment of S-300 missiles sent from Russia to Syria will paralyze Israel's aerial defense abilities.

"Israel got used to this, that whenever it wants, aircraft attack Syrian territory," he said. "From now on, we'll see if their army will attack our territory again."

Mekdad also said that Syria isn't afraid of Israeli attacks.

"Israel can try to attack, and we will defend ourselves well and successfully, just like we have in the past," he added. "The Israeli aggression in Syrian territory is aimed at everyone who wants to reduce terror in our country."
