1. NUMBER OF INFILTRATORS LEAVING ISRAEL SURGES
by Arutz Sheva Staff
New statistics presented by the Israeli government to the Supreme Court show that there has been a significant increase in the number of infiltrators leaving Israel after the Deposit Law took effect, Israel Hayom reported.
The statistics were presented as part of an appeal to force the State to cancel the Deposit Law.
The Deposit Law deducts 20% from infiltrators' salaries, in an attempt to encourage them to leave Israel of their own accord. The infiltrators receive this money when they agree to leave Israel.
The law aims to end the flow of cash via remittances from the infiltrators to their families abroad, thereby reducing the gain from remaining illegally in Israel.
According to Israel Hayom, since Israel began enforcing the law in May 2017, there has been nearly a sevenfold increase in the number of infiltrators redeeming their money when they leave Israel. In 2017, 12 infiltrators redeemed their money each month, while in 2018, the number jumped to 52 infiltrators per month. In the first half of 2019, 82 infiltrators left Israel each month, for a 57% rise since 2018.
According to the statistics, 1,135 infiltrators redeemed their money, which totaled 12,800,576 NIS ($3,592,226), or approximately 11,500 NIS ($3,227) per infiltrator. The average deposit, including the employer's share, was 2,446 NIS ($686) per month. A total of 300 million NIS ($8,4190,500) has been deposited so far.
The statistics also show that the success comes despite the fact that the law is only partially enforced: Deposits were made for only 17,000 of the 34,000 infiltrators, and most employers make the deposits for only a few months. Regular and consistent deposits beginning in May 2017 were only made for 68 infiltrators.
Israel Hayom quoted Yonatan Jakubowicz, Executive Director of the Israel Immigration Policy Center, who initiated the bill: "These statistics prove that the law is achieving its goal, and that the more time passes and the more the money adds up, we see an even more significant number of those leaving. After we closed the Holot detention center, the law became even more important, since it became the only tool to remove infiltrators from Israel. In addition, one-third of Eritrea's gross national income comes from the money sent by expatriates around the world, and a total of 300 million NIS ($8,4190,500) collected i the fund may well bring about a change in the Eritrean government's policy. The government must invest all the resources necessary in order to enforce the law."
2. AUSTRALIA: JEWISH CAFE OWNER WON'T CAVE TO ANTI-SEMITISM
by Marcy Oster, JTA
A Jewish-owned café in a suburb of Melbourne, Australia was hit with anti-Semitic graffiti twice in one week.
On Saturday, the back fence of Aliza's Place Café was painted with "The Holocaust didn't happen but it should have," and a large blue swastika. It came two days after the same fence was painted with the words "The Holocaust is a lie."
The owner, Aliza Shuvaly, told the Australian Jewish News after the first attack that many members of her family were Holocaust survivors.
"I cannot ignore this symbol," Shuvaly told the newspaper. "All my family were Holocaust survivors – my mother's parents, my husband's parents – and for me it's hurting twice. I started to shake, I didn't know what to do."
She said she would not allow the attack to force her to close the café.
Victoria Police is investigating the incidents.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu addressed the opening plenary of the 2019 Christians United for Israel (CUFI) summit Monday.
Addressing the audience in Washington DC from Jerusalem, Netanyahu thanked Pastor John Hagee, the founder and chairman of CUFI.
"I want to greet all of you from Jerusalem, the eternal undivided capital of Israel. It will never be divided again," Netanyahu said.
"Pastor Hagee, I want to thank you for your enduring, tremendous support. For decades, you've been leading the effort to strengthen support for Israel within the Christian community. I remember when you began. Once you were one of a handful of brave voices in the wilderness. Thanks to your leadership, now there are millions and millions of devout Christians who stand with Israel.
"So I want to thank you on behalf of all the people of Israel, and I want to thank the thousands of you who have come to Washington from across America to stand with Israel. You came to Washington DC, and I salute you from Jerusalem, DC: Jerusalem, David's capital."

When Pastor Hagee expressed CUFI's concerns over Iran's recent violations of the 2015 nuclear deal, Netanyahu responded: "They're right to be concerned, but I think we should take some perspective on this."
"The deal was always based on a lie that Iran was not seeking nuclear weapons. We exposed that lie when we sent our brave operatives to the heart of Tehran and brought back the secret atomic archive of Iran. And it just showed that they've been working on developing atomic bombs as early as 20 years ago.
"The deal was not only based on a lie, it's a terrible deal because it gave Iran a path to getting a nuclear arsenal when the restrictions on Iran's nuclear programs were removed. It didn't block Iran's path to the bomb. It paved it. It failed to solve the one problem it was supposed to solve. It made other problems worse by removing sanctions on Iran, thereby helping Iran fuel its war machine in the region."
He thanked US President Donald Trump for renewing sanctions on Iran and called for the international community to increase pressure on Iran to end its aggression.
"It's time for Europe to do what they promised to do. They promised to leave the deal and snap-back sanctions if Iran did this. And I said that's the way you stop aggression."
4. WATCH: POLICE CHASE MOTORCYCLIST
by Mordechai Sones

A motorcyclist in his 30's led police on a merry chase when he refused to obey instructions from a cruiser to halt and ignored repeated public address system calls urging him to stop and not cause an accident.
The chase, that police calling in for backup reported led to the Arab village of Ibelin, was not a high-speed pursuit but a slow, obstinate effort to prevent the offending driver from escaping into side alleys or fields.
Police called out to the driver: "Stop; you'll just cause an accident," but the motorcyclist appeared to be pretending not to hear, neither speeding up nor stopping.
The motorcyclist continued his leisurely evasion until the police car overtook and stopped him. Police report he was driving without a license and had dangerous materials on his person.
5. LIKUD SOURCES: SHAKED MAY JOIN TECHNICAL BLOC WITH LIKUD
by Arutz Sheva Staff
Sources in the Likud proposed a compromise between Ayelet Shaked and the Likud: Instead of joining the Likud, Shaked would join a technical bloc with her own party, and together they would run in one list in the upcoming elections, Kan Bet reported.
According to the report, however, sources close to Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu claim that the opposition to Shaked among the Netanyahu family is so great that the chances of the move succeeding are slim.
Earlier on Tuesday, MK David Bitan (Likud) told Army Radio: "Ayelet Shaked will not be in the Likud elections, the issue is closed. What will she do? It's already up to her."
And MK Miki Zohar (Likud) said senior Likud members are working to thwart any possibility of the inclusion of former minister Ayelet Shaked on the Likud list, and told the Knesset channel that if Shaked did make connections that would not be good for the Likud, since it could bring an end to the party's rule.
Meanwhile, internal polls by the United Right show that Shaked is the only one capable of bringing the list to a double-digit number of seats.
6. ANALYSIS: HOW IRAN IS TRANSFORMING IRAQ INTO A SECOND LEBANON
by Yochanan Visser
The government of Iraq appears to be playing a double game with the United States and Iran over the influence of the Iranian-backed Hashd al-Shaabi umbrella organization of predominantly Shiite militias in the country.
Almost three years after a law was passed making Hash al-Shaabi integral part of the Iraqi security forces Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi issued a decree ordering the Iranian-backed organization to integrate fully into the Iraqi military and abandon previous affiliations.
Mahdi issued an ultimatum which said the offices of Hasd al-Shaabi affiliated militias had to be closed down before July 31 while the militias also must end their practice of erasing checkpoints in areas where they want to increase their influence.
Militias failing to comply with the order will be considered illegal organizations while Mahdi gave them the option to transform into political parties after abandoning their weapons.
At first sight the move appeared to be the result of American pressure to curb the Iranian influence in Iraq. However, if we take a close look at what is actually going on in Iraqi Iranian relations we will see that the decree benefits Iran and that Iraq is playing a double game.
The US Administration of President Donald J. Trump started to pressure Iraq over curbing the activities of Hashd al-Shaabi after a series of attacks on US-related targets in Iraq by militias affiliated with the umbrella organization.
The State Department, furthermore, concluded that it was the Iranian proxy in Iraq and not the Ansar Allah (Houthi) militia in Yemen which was behind a recent drone attack on Saudi Arabia.
Last week, The Wall Street Journal reported the State Department "said it had evidence that drones used in the attack originated from southern Iraq, an area filled with pro-Iran Shia jihadist groups (Hashd al-Shaabi) that fight under the command of the Islamic (Iranian) Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC)."
The conclusions of the State Department came after a visit by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to Iraq where he discussed the Iranian activities in the country.
After meeting with Iraqi leaders Pompeo said he had "urged the Iraqi government, for its own security, to get all of those forces [the militias] under Iraq central control."
Mahdi's decree was welcomed by some Hashd al-Shaabi militias while the powerful Hezbollah brigades did not take a clear stance on the decision and instead urged the Iraqi government to crack-down on alleged spy-rings in Iraq starting with the US Embassy in Baghdad.
The Hezbollah brigades last week published audio recordings and WhatsApp chats between Mahmoud al-Falahi, the commander of Iraqi army operations in the al-Anbar Province and an unnamed CIA agent which showed that al-Falahi had given the CIA detailed coordinates of military bases in the region of the Iranian border.
Fars News, an IRGC controlled media outlet in Iran, said al-Falahi had endangered Iraq's national security and claimed he had also delivered sensitive information to the Israeli spy agency Mossad.
Other Hashd al-Shaabi leaders defiantly vowed that they would ignore Mahdi's order and boasted the prime minister and Americans "are dreaming" if they think they can implement the decision.
The leaders of the largest Hashd al-Shaabi factions such as Asaib Ahl al-Haq and the Badr Organization welcomed Mahdi's decree, however.
The reason these groups are in favor of incorporating Hashd al-Shaabi as an integral part of the Iraqi military is that it would effectively transform Iraq into a second Lebanon where Hezbollah is doing Iran's biding and is calling the shots.
Being a part of the Iraqi military would give Hashd al-Shaabi the same status as the IRGC in Iran and would give them access to sophisticated American weapons.
The US has provided over $22 billion in military aid to Iraq since 2005 and has delivered modern M1A1 tanks to the Iraqi army, for example.
There are other signs Iraq is turning into an Iranian proxy-state where the commander of the IRGC's Quds Force, Qassem Soleimani is taking the real important decisions.
Iraq succeeded in obtaining waivers on the (oil) sanctions imposed on Iran despite being one of the most oil-rich countries in the world.
In addition, Iraq is currently establishing a new financial system which will bypass US sanctions by creating a copy of the EU's Instex.
"The Iraqi government will continue to pay Iran for gas by depositing money into a special bank account inside Iraq, in Iraqi dinars," an Iraqi government official announced.
Last week, Iran, Iraq and Syria also signed a deal which will create a "multimodal transport corridor" from Tehran to Damascus. The deal will allow Iran to complete its land bridge from the Iranian border in the Nineveh Province in Iraq to the Syrian Golan Heights.
Then there is the big increase of Iranian exports to Iraq which have increased 20 percent over the past 100 days compared to the same period last year.
A staggering $25 million worth of goods were exported by Iran to its neighbor every day over the last three months while the Islamic Republic tries to import Iraqi products with the help of the Central Bank of Iraq.
The two countries are also in the process of establishing industrial zones near border crossings in both Iran and Iraq which will further boost economic ties.
So, does Mahdi's decree help the United States or Iran?
The Iraqi Prime Minister owes his appointment to Hashd al-Shaabi which is part of the so-called Fatah-block and issued the order after consultations with his new chief of staff, Mohammed al-Hashimi, also known as Abu Jihad.
Al-Hashimi is affiliated with Hashd al-Shaabi and reportedly takes his orders from Qassem Soleimani, the commander of the IRGC's Quds Force.
7. REPORT: PA RECONSIDERING BOYCOTT OF US
by Elad Benari
Palestinian Authority (PA) officials are re-thinking their boycott of the US administration, the Israel Hayom newspaper reports.
A senior official in Ramallah told the newspaper that mutual messages have been sent recently between Ramallah and Washington in order to straighten things out and end PA chairman Mahmoud Abbas' boycott of President Donald Trump and his representatives - Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner and special envoy Jason Greenblatt. The PA has been boycotting the US since December of 2017, when Trump recognized Jerusalem as Israel's capital.
According to the source, a delegation of senior officials from Ramallah headed by Majid Faraj, head of the PA security services, is expected to depart for Washington soon for discussions with senior US officials, and that secret contacts and talks have recently taken place between Trump's associates and Abbas' associates.
"The two sides have presented a positive attitude and progress has been made towards the possibility of renewing relations," the senior PA official told Israel Hayom.
According to the report, one reason for the PA's change of heart could be its disappointment with the Arab countries which agreed to participate in the US-led Bahrain conference, despite Abbas' pleas to boycott it. Given that one of the goals of the conference was to exert pressure on Abbas to end the boycott, it seems that the move succeeded.
Another reason is the assessment in Ramallah that the political aspect of the "Deal of the Century" will be unveiled after the elections and the establishment of a government in Israel, and the Palestinian Arabs are interested in stabilizing relations with President Trump and his people before that happens.
Proof of the thaw in the relationship between Ramallah and Washington was evident in an extensive interview given by Greenblatt to the Ramallah-based newspaper Al-Ayyam on Monday.
"Greenblatt and Friedman are persona non-grata in the PA, and the interview with Greenblatt is intended to soften the Palestinian public's position towards returning to the negotiating track and accepting the Trump administration as an intermediary between us and Israel," a close associate of Abbas told Israel Hayom.
In the interview with Al-Ayyam, Greenblatt said, "President Trump has not yet decided when the full peace plan will be published. He is weighing the options based on the Israeli elections and the decision to publish the plan will be made soon."
Greenblatt noted that Trump and his administration are aware of the difficulties in the "Deal of the Century", but are determined to move forward with the regional peace plan.
"We are not surprised by the difficulties in the peace plan and by the fact that there are those who do not accept it. Those who do not understand it do not understand the nature of the conflict. At the same time, all the parties must understand that it is impossible to present a perfect plan. We have to sit together and talk about the issues and obstacles in negotiations so that there will be an agreement," added the US envoy.
Greenblatt did not spare the PA leadership from criticism and told the Ramallah-based newspaper, "The Palestinian leadership must internalize that the success of the conference in Bahrain shows that there are those who believe in peace and in the ability of the Palestinian people to create a good and prosperous economy with the help of many investors. This is an opportunity that the Palestinian leadership must not miss."
At the same time, he stressed that Trump does not intend to "impose his positions on Ramallah or buy the Palestinians with money."
"If there is a peace agreement, the Palestinians will have a dream economy, because we believe that without a serious economic plan that includes investments and various projects, there will be no feasibility for a successful peace agreement," explained Greenblatt.

by Dalit Halevi
The Palestinian Authority's (PA) "foreign ministry" condemned a tweet by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu about the Jewish people's connection to the Land of Israel.
Netanyahu, in a series of tweets, had linked to articles on a new study which confirmed that the origin of the Philistines is in southern Europe and that there is no connection between the Philistines and present day Palestinian Arabs.
"The Palestinians' connection to the Land of Israel is nothing compared to the 4,000 year connection that the Jewish people have with the land," he wrote.
"There's no connection between the ancient Philistines and the modern Palestinians, whose ancestors came from the Arabian Peninsula to the Land of Israel thousands of years later," Netanyahu noted in another tweet.

The PA's foreign affairs bureau noted that Netanyahu's "misleading" remarks were an attempt to deny the "national existence of the Palestinian people in its homeland of Palestine" and seek to establish colonialism on the soil of the state of "Palestine" and turn the political conflict into a conflict of a religious and ethnic nature.
"The conflict in Palestine is between a foreign settler who conquered our land, expelled our people by force, and carries out the most abominable type of ethnic cleansing against our people and tries to accommodate foreign settlers in their place," the bureau said in a statement.

Researchers from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, the Israel Antiquities Authority and Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia, believe they have discovered the Philistine town near Kiryat Gat, immortalized in the Biblical narrative.
Ziklag is mentioned multiple times in the Bible in relation to David (in 1 Samuel and 2 Samuel). According to the Biblical narrative, Achish, King of Gat, allowed David to find refuge in Ziklag while fleeing King Saul and from there David also departed to be anointed King in Hebron. According to scripture, Ziklag was also the scene of a dramatic event, in which the Amalekites, desert nomads, raided and burned the town taking women and children captive.
The excavation, which began in 2015 at the site of Khirbet a-Ra'i in the Judaean foothills - between Kiryat Gat and Lachish, has proceeded in cooperation with Prof. Yosef Garfinkel, Head of the Institute of Archaeology at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Saar Ganor of the Israel Antiquities Authority and Dr. Kyle Keimer and Dr. Gil Davis of Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia. The excavation was funded by Joey Silver of Jerusalem, Aron Levy of New Jersey, and the Roth Family and Isaac Wakil both of Sydney. The excavation has been ongoing for seven seasons with large areas being exposed - approximately 1,000 sq.m., leading to this new identification for Ziklag.
The name Ziklag is unusual in the lexicon of names in the Land of Israel, since it is not local Canaanite-Semitic. It is a Philistine name, given to the town by an alien population of immigrants from the Aegean.
Twelve different suggestions to identify Ziklag have been put forward, such as Tel Halif near Kibbutz Lahav, Tel Sera in the Western Negev, Tel Sheva, and others. However, according to the researchers, none of these sites produced continuous settlement which included both a Philistine settlement and a settlement from the era of King David. At Khirbet a-Ra'i, however, features from both these populations have been found.
Evidence of a settlement from the Philistine era has been found there, from the 12-11th centuries BC. Spacious, massive stone structures have been uncovered containing finds typical of the Philistine civilization.
Additional finds are foundation deposits, including bowls and an oil lamp - offerings laid beneath the floors of the buildings out of a belief that these would bring good fortune in the construction. Stone and metal tools were also found. Similar finds from this era were discovered in the past in excavations in Ashdod, Ashkelon, Ekron and Gath--the cities of the Lords of the Philistines.
Above the remains of the Philistine settlement was a rural settlement from the time of King David, from the early 10th century BC. This settlement came to an end in an intense fire that destroyed the buildings. Nearly one hundred complete pottery vessels were found in the various rooms.
These vessels are identical to those found in the contemporary fortified Judaean city of Khirbet Qeiyafa—identified as biblical Sha'arayim—in the Judaean foothills. Carbon 14 tests date the site at Khirbet a-Ra'i to the time of King David.
The great range of complete vessels is testimony to the interesting everyday life during the reign of King David. Large quantities of storage jars were found during the excavation- medium and large-which were used for storing oil and wine. Jugs and bowls were also found decorated in the style known as "red slipped and hand burnished," typical to the period of King David.
Following a regional archaeological study in the Judaean foothills managed by Professors Garfinkel and Ganor, a picture of the region's settlement in the early Monarchic era is emerging: the two sites - Ziklag and Sha'arayim-are situated on the western frontier of the kingdom.
They are both perched atop prominent hills, overlooking main routes passing between the Land of the Philistines and Judea: Khirbet Qeiyafa in the Elah Valley sits opposite Philistine Gath, and Khirbet a-Ra'i, sits opposite Ashkelon. This geographic description is echoed in King David's Lament, in which he mourns the death of King Saul and Jonathan in their battle against the Philistines: "Tell it not in Gath, publish it not in the streets of Ashkelon."
2. PM'S SON HITS LINDA SARSOUR FOR 'JESUS WAS PALESTINIAN' CLAIM
by David Rosenberg
Women's March organizer and far-left activist Linda Sarsour came under fire over the weekend after she claimed that Jesus of Nazareth was a "brown copper skinned" Palestinian.
Sarsour, a long-time critic of the Jewish state, tweeted Saturday that Jesus "was Palestinian", adding that he had "brown copper skin" and "wooly hair".
"Jesus was Palestinian of Nazareth and is described in the Quran as being brown copper skinned with wooly hair."
The tweet quickly drew both criticism and mockery, with social media users pointing out that Jesus was unquestionably Jewish, and that no Palestinian identity or land of Palestine existed at the time. The term Palestine was coined only in the year 132 CE, roughly a century after Jesus' death, when the Roman empire renamed the Land of Israel 'Syria Palaestina'.
"Are you that stupid?" Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's son, Yair Netanyahu, tweeted in response.
"On the cross above Jesus' head was the sign 'INRI'…which means in Latin 'Jesus of Nazareth king of the Jews'."
"The Bible say that Jesus was born and raised in Judea!"
In a follow up tweet, Sarsour wrote that "Palestinian is a nationality not a religion. Your point is not negated. Jews lived with Palestinians in peaceful co-existence before there was a state of Israel."
"Folks reported my tweet that Jesus was a Palestinian. Twitter was obviously like, this doesn't violate our standards. It's also true. Jesus was born in Bethlehem which is in Palestine. Move on."
"Why so upset by the truth. Jesus was born in Bethlehem aka بيت لحم in Arabic. Bethlehem is in Palestine. It's currently militarily occupied by Israel and home to a predominately beautiful Palestinian Christian community. Yes, the birthplace of Jesus is under military occupation."
Sarsour later added: "Palestine is not a religion. Palestinian is someone born in Palestine or a descendant of Palestinians. Palestinian is a nationality. So when someone says Jesus was born in modern day Palestine that doesn't negate that he was a Jew. The hate is real. It breeds ignorance."
In response, Yair Netanyahu pointed out the history of the term Palestine, and its origins with the Hebrew term for the people known in the Bible as the Philistines.
"The Romans changed the name of the province of Judea to province of Palestine on 130 ad as a punishment to the Jews for their revolt. They named it after the ancient philistines that were Greeks and were already extinct at the time."
3. 'THESE ARABS WERE TRYING TO KILL US'
by Arutz Sheva Staff
Arab residents of the Palestinian Authority town of Mukhmas near the Binyamin region Jewish town of Ma'ale Mikhmas on Sunday night threw stones at several Jewish vehicles traveling on the Allon Road near Ma'ale Mikhmas just after 11:00p.m.
No one was hurt but serious damage was caused to the vehicles. A complaint was filed with Israel Police, but it seems none of the rock-throwers have been caught.
Tal, a resident of Kokhav Hashahar, told Arutz Sheva: "We were returning home from Jerusalem. About 300 meters (984 feet) after Route 60 turns, we saw nice-sized stones hitting our car as we drove."
"The Arabs threw stones at two other cars traveling in front of us, as well as at us. Those cars stopped afterwards on the side of the road to inspect what had happened. It seems that afterwards they [the Arabs] escaped towards their village. We immediately reported it to the Binyamin hotline, and were told that IDF forces are on their way to the scene.
"These Arabs tried to kill, and it would be correct to arrest them and their partners and to try them as murderers.
"Unfortunately, the Arabs raise their heads and we see the 'dream of coexistence' disappearing before our very eyes. Or in other words, we see here what 'coexistence at its best' is like."
4. TZIPI LIVNI RETURNING TO POLITICS?
by David Rosenberg
Less than half a year after announcing the end of her political career, former Justice Minister Tzipi Livni is weighing a new Knesset bid – if a broad left-wing bloc is formed for the September elections.
In February, Livni announced that she would not run in the April 9th election, adding that she would be leaving politics after then-Labor chief Avi Gabbay ended his party's alliance with Livni's Hatnuah faction.
"There should have been a single bloc to bring a political revolution, but that didn't happen," Livni said as she announced her departure from politics. "I worked to make a [left-wing] alliance. This time, it didn't happen."
"I'm leaving politics, but I won't let our dream of peace disappear from Israel."
Five months later, however, Livni is already considering a return to politics – under one condition.
While Livni has rejected overtures from both the Labor party's new chairman, Amir Peretz, and Ehud Barak, who recently formed the new Democratic Israel party, she has indicated she may run for the Knesset again if a broad left-wing ticket is formed, Haaretz reported.
Such a left-wing alliance would likely include both Labor, the Democratic Israel party, and Livni's own Hatnuah faction.
Last week, a poll by Maagar Mohot found that a grand alliance of left-wing parties, including Labor, Democratic Israel, and the far-left Meretz faction, would net 19 seats in the next election.

6. IDF OFFICER KILLED IN GAZA OP WAS KILLED BY FRIENDLY FIRE
by David Rosenberg
The Israeli officer who died during a botched undercover operation deep inside the Gaza Strip last year was killed by friendly fire, an IDF report has revealed.
On Sunday, the Israeli military announced that an in-depth report on a November 11th 2018 undercover IDF operation in Gaza, its discovery by Hamas terrorists, and the subsequent battle had been completed and turned over to IDF Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi.
The operation, the details of which remain classified, failed to achieve its goal, Kochavi said, adding that close examination of the events revealed a number of mistakes during the planning and execution of the operation.
A special review committee established to probe the incident reached its conclusions following a lengthy investigation, delivering its report to Kochavi, s well as commanders from the Special Forces, the Deputy Chief of the General Staff, the Head of the Operations Directorate, the Head of the Military Intelligence Directorate, the Commander of the Israeli Air Force, and the Head of the General Staff Review Committee, Maj. Gen (Res.) Nitzan Alon.
According to the report, Lieutenant Colonel M. – whose identity remains classified – was killed by accident, as the result of stray friendly fire.
In the wake of the incident and the subsequent investigation, the Chief of Staff said, the army has modified its own operational protocol to prevent a repeat of the same errors which led to the secret force's discovery while still inside the Gaza Strip.
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, who also holds the Defense portfolio, praised the soldiers involved in the top secret operation, and vowed that the lessons learned from the incident would be implemented.
"The lessons will be learned and the recommendations will be implemented. I commend the courage of the soldiers and pilots who operated in very difficult conditions, and the heroic rescue action. On behalf of the citizens of Israel, I would like to stand by the family of Lt.-Col. M for his heroism and his efforts."
Lieutenant Colonel M., a 41-year-old father of two, was killed and a second Israeli officer seriously wounded after an undercover Israeli force was discovered by Hamas terrorists operating inside the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip, near Khan Yunis last November.
During the ensuing battle, Israeli aircraft provided cover for the IDF unit as it withdrew from the Gaza Strip.
Seven Hamas terrorists were killed during the battle, including Nur Barakeh, commander of the eastern battalion of Hamas' Izz Al-Din Al-Qassam Brigades in Khan Yunis.

7. WHAT HAPPENED TO MOSHE ELIEZER ILOVITZ?
by Joseph Frager, MD
Moshe Eliezer Ilovitz, an American-born father of five living in Israel, disappeared one Saturday morning six weeks ago.
It is hard to believe, but there are as many as 100,000 active missing persons in the United States at any given time. In Israel the numbers are much smaller - but substantial.
Each year, about 30 people in Israel leave home and go missing.
Families often turn to private investigators out of frustration with the police and other agencies.
Yekutiel "Mike" Ben Yaakov, a volunteer who leads a canine search unit, claims the police in Israel just are not up to the task of finding missing persons.
Frustrated families often turn to him, but usually too late.
The search for Moshe Eliezer Ilovitz is active and ongoing. The difference is that he is an American citizen. It means that not only does the Israeli law enforcement establishment and its political leaders have an obligation to find him, but American governmental officials have an obligation to find him as well.

Tens of thousands of parents gathered at demonstrations across Israel to demand reform in Israel's childcare system, including improved safeguards to prevent the abuse of young children at schools or daycare centers.
Ten thousand protesters rallied at Tel Aviv's Azrieli Junction Sunday night, along with thousands more at 24 other demonstrations across the country, following the indictment of a daycare owner and operator.
Protesters blocked roads in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, and Haifa, while police largely avoided confrontations with the protesters. Protesters reportedly lit a fire at the Azrieli Junction protest in Tel Aviv.
The demonstrators are demanding that preschools, nurseries, and daycare centers for children three and under be placed under the authority of the Education Ministry. Organizers of the protests have called for background checks for all care providers at preschools, nurseries, and daycare centers, increased punishments for child abusers, as well as increased use of security cameras in daycare facilities.

According to the indictment, Mauda abused children in a variety of ways, including forcing children to eat their own vomit, covering the children's heads with a blanket and sitting on them to prevent movement; tying a minor's hands using string for minutes to hours; picking up minors by forcefully grasping the arm; swinging them in the air and throwing them onto the floor; shaking babies; placing toddlers facing the wall, sometimes for several hours; whipping the minors with a diaper, slapping them, pinching and pulling toddlers' heads back, blocking their noses and mouths until breathing difficulties arose.

by Arutz Sheva Staff

Prime Minister Netanyahu at Sunday morning's cabinet meeting addressed Iran's declared plans to enrich Uranium beyond limits set in the 2015 deal.
"Iran violated its solemn promise under the UN Security Council not to enrich uranium not to enrich uranium beyond a certain level. The enrichment of uranium is for one reason, and one reason only: the creation of atomic bombs."
"The leaders of the P5+1 promised and committed themselves to snap back sanction the minute Iran did that. It just did. Where are you?"
Iranian chief nuclear negotiator Abbas Araghchi announced on Sunday that Iran will produce uranium at 5% enrichment, above the cap of 3.67%, according to The Guardian.
Araghchi added that Iran's reduction in its commitment to the 2015 deal would continue every 60 days.
Iran had given enough time to diplomacy and its actions were not a violation of the deal, he asserted, adding that European governments had failed to fulfill their obligations under the deal.
2. OVER 500 CIVILIANS KILLED IN RUSSIAN OFFENSIVE IN SYRIA
by Gary Willig
At least 544 civilians were killed and over 2,000 wounded in Russian airstrikes on the last revel stronghold in northwestern Syria over the last two months, human rights organizations reported.
Russia and Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's military have bombarded the rebel-held Idlib province since late April in the largest offensive in the Syrian civil war since summer 2018.
According to the Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR), the dead include 130 children.
SNHR chairman Fadel Abdul Ghany told Reuters that the Russian and Syrian militaries were "deliberately targeting civilians with a record number of medical facilities bombed."
Russia and the Assad regime have denied that they have deliberately targeted civilians or indiscriminately attacked civilian areas with cluster bombs and incendiary weapons.
Over 560,000 people have been killed in the civil war since March 2011, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. 5.7 million Syrians have fled the country as refugees, according to UN figures, and an additional 6.1 million Syrians have been internally displaced.

Energy Minister Yuval Steinitz accused the Iranian regime attempting to blackmail world leaders through its nuclear program after Iran said it would enrich uranium beyond the levels permitted under the 2015 nuclear deal.
"Iran is performing nuclear blackmail against the entire world," Steinitz told Arutz Sheva. "The Iranian announcement that they will enrich uranium beyond the limitations prove what we have said this whole time: that the nuclear agreement is bad and insufficient."
"If it allows Iran to perform nuclear blackmail against the world and to threaten the world that it can very easily march towards fissile material and nuclear weapons, there is only one meaning, that Iran remains too close to [getting] nuclear weapons. Therefore, the world must insist that [Iran] dismantle entirely its nuclear facilities."

The Central District Attorney's Office filed an indictment with the Lod District Court on Sunday against Carmel Mauda, the 25-year-old daycare worker who was arrested on suspicion of abusing toddlers in her home.
The indictment includes 18 charges for offenses of abuse of a minor or helpless person and assaulting a minor or helpless person.
According to the indictment, Mauda was the owner and manager of the "Baby Leo" daycare in Rosh Ha'ayin, for infants and toddlers between the ages of 3 months and 3 years.
During this period, on numerous occasions during her work in the daycare, she attacked 11 infants and toddlers in the daycare by covering the children's heads with a blanket and sitting on them to prevent movement; tying a minor's hands using string for minutes to hours; picking up minors by forcefully grasping the arm; swinging them in the air and throwing them onto the floor; shaking babies; placing toddlers facing the wall, sometimes for several hours; whipping the minors with a diaper, slapping them, pinching and pulling toddlers' heads back, blocking their noses and mouths until breathing difficulties arose. In one case she forced a minor to eat the contents of a plate into which he vomited.
In the request to detain Mauda until the end of proceedings it was written, "The Respondent's actions establish grounds for detention ... since there is reasonable grounds to fear that the respondent will endanger the public's security, in view of the large number of minors injured, the multiplicity of incidents, and the systematic abuse exposed in four cameras almost daily for a considerable period of about three weeks."
"The respondent's dangerousness is reinforced by the fact that the respondent harmed infants and toddlers, some of whom had no linguistic ability at all, and some of them in the initial stages of linguistic development, who are unable to tell and seek help from their parents while those who maintain their physical and mental well-being repeatedly harm them. In addition, it is not possible to give the respondent trust, since she exploited the trust of the parents who deposited in her hands, so to speak, that which is most precious to them."

Five IDF soldiers were injured when a car rammed into them near Hizma, in northern Jerusalem.
Two of the soldiers were moderately injured, while the other three suffered light injuries. The victims were treated by Magen David Adom (MDA) and United Hatzalah paramedics, who transferred them to Jerusalem hospitals.
United Hatzalah volunteer EMT Ariel Ben David, who was one of the first responders at the scene, said: "I together with other first responders treated four young people, one woman and three men, who were injured in the incident. Following their initial treatment at the scene they were transported to Jerusalem hospitals for further treatment."
MDA spokesman Zaki Heller said: "Magen David Adom paramedics are administering medical treatment and transferring four injured people to hospitals. The injured include a man in his thirties who is moderately injured and suffered injuries to his face and limbs, as well as a young woman of about 20 who suffered moderate injuries to her head and limbs." Both are being transferred to Shaare Zedek Medical Center, he added, noting that "two additional people of about 20 who were lightly injured are being brought to Shaare Zedek and Hadassah's Mount Scopus Hospital."
Police and the IDF are searching for the terrorist, who escaped the scene, and the IDF is investigating whether the ramming was nationalistically motivated.
Earlier Saturday evening, an Arab terrorist attempted to run over a police officer in Samaria.
In that instance, as well, the suspect escaped the scene, leading Israel Police and IDF forces to begin searching for the vehicle. However, no one was injured.

Overnight Saturday, following joint intelligence and operational activity of the IDF and the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet), the terrorist suspected of running over five soldiers on Saturday night near the village of Hizma was arrested, the IDF Spokesperson's Unit said.
An initial investigation into the incident revealed that it was a terrorist attack, during which the terrorist identified the soldiers who were standing on the roadside during an operational mission and ran them over.
As a result of the ramming attack, three fighters suffered moderate injuries, and two others were lightly injured. The soldiers were evacuated to hospital for medical treatment.
The terrorist and his father were captured at a checkpoint by IDF forces who were operating in the area following Shin Bet intelligence activity. The two were taken for questioning by security forces.
The IDF Spokesperson's Unit stated that "the IDF will continue to act to maintain security in the area and will act to thwart terrorist attacks and capture terrorists."
Earlier Saturday evening, an Arab terrorist attempted to run over a police officer in Samaria. No one was injured.
In that instance, as well, the suspect escaped the scene, leading Israel Police and IDF forces to begin searching for the vehicle.

by Ido Ben Porat
An Arab terrorist attempted Saturday night to run over a police officer in Samaria.
The attempted terror attack occurred at Hatzofim Square, when a Palestinian Authority Arab driving towards the police checkpoint refused to obey police orders, instead continue to drive towards one of the officers in an attempt to ram him.
Attempting to end the attack, the officer fired his weapon, but the terrorist continued driving wildly and escaped the scene.
Israel Police and IDF forces are searching for the vehicle.
No one was injured.
8. IRANIAN CLERIC: BRITAIN SHOULD BE 'SCARED'
by Elad Benari
Britain should be "scared" about Iran's possible retaliation for the capture of an Iranian supertanker by Royal Marines in Gibraltar, an Iranian cleric said Saturday, according to Reuters.
"I am openly saying that Britain should be scared of Iran's retaliatory measures over the illegal seizure of the Iranian oil tanker," said Mohammad Ali Mousavi Jazayeri, a member of the powerful clerical body the Assembly of Experts.
"We have shown that we will never remain silent against bullying ...As we gave a staunch response to the American drone, the appropriate response to this illegal capture (of the tanker) will be given by Iran as well," he added, according to Reuters.
The British naval force on Thursday seized an Iranian oil tanker in Gibraltar on suspicion that it was carrying crude oil to Syria in what may be the first such interception under EU sanctions.
The detention of the tanker angered Iran, which condemned the move as an "illegal interception" and summoned the British ambassador in protest.
Jazayeri's comment came a day after an Iranian Revolutionary Guards commander threatened to seize a British ship in retaliation for the capture of the Iranian supertanker.
The incident comes at a sensitive time in Iran-EU ties as the bloc mulls how to respond to Tehran announcing it will breach the maximum uranium enrichment level it agreed to in a 2015 nuclear deal.

3. 'IRAN IS PERFORMING NUCLEAR BLACKMAIL'
by Yoni Kempinski

4. DAYCARE PROVIDER INDICTED FOR ABUSE

7. ATTEMPTED TERROR ATTACK IN SAMARIA
by Ido Ben Porat

2. BENNETT: RABBI AVINER'S COMMENTS ARE DISGRACEFUL
by Arutz Sheva Staff
Former Education Minister Naftali Bennett criticized the statement by Rabbi Shlomo Aviner that women should not participate in politics.
If anyone had any doubt about why the New Right is needed, here is the answer," Bennett said in an interview with Reshet Bet.
"These statements represent a tiny percentage of religious Zionism and cause a desecration of G-d's name," he added. "The place of women in politics and in all areas of society is undeniable."
MK Shuli Moalem-Rafaeli also criticized Rabbi Aviner. "I heard Rabbi Aviner's words and was surprised," she wrote on her Facebook account Thursday,
"The world was created in its entirety," wrote Moalem-Rafaeli. "It is complete when women and men are given a place, female and male voices are both listened to, and we work to express the forces of women and men."
"The greatest feminist revolution in the last two decades is the transformation of Torah study for women, and today the leadership of women in general, and religious women in particular, in the public sphere is self-evident.
"I am happy that religious girls see me and my colleagues as a model for leadership and action for women and men," she said.
3. FEIGLIN: WE WANT TO JOIN WITH THE NEW RIGHT
by Arutz Sheva Staff
Zehut chairman Moshe Feiglin on Friday emphasized that his party intends to join a technical bloc with former Education Minister Naftali Bennett's New Right party.
"Regarding the New Right party - as I explained in a lengthy post three weeks ago, this is the proper and natural connection for us," Feiglin said. "We have no intention of joining sectoral parties, because that contradicts the new vision which has opened for the nation of Israel. Therefore, we will not join the United Right."
"We want to join together with the New Right. We've put things on the table, and that's it, we're completely open to it. When it happens it happens, and logic says it will happen."
In a live chat on Facebook, Feiglin emphasized that if the union does not happen, he will run anyways: "I am saying very clearly - Zehut will run with all its might. If for some reason the joint list does not go through, we will with G-d's help win and in a big way, with G-d's help, even without the union. Just like we until the end last time, we will run until the end this time, and we will learn lessons and do the nation of Israel a great service, from the Knesset and from the Finance Ministry."
"But we are interested in a union, we understand the great pain caused to those people who voted for parties which did not pass the electoral threshold. In actuality, people do not want to see this happen, and we will do everything we can to ensure that there is a union which will prevent this concern. If we can prevent this concern, we will do it."
4. AN EMBARRASSING MISTAKE IN A CAMPAIGN AGAINST MUSLIM IMMIGRANTS
by Nitzan Keidar
A German far-right party, Alternative for Germany (AfD) was accused of incitement to racism after publishing a video on its Twitter account on Thursday documenting the violence of Muslim immigrants in a water park in the city of Stuttgart.
However, a review of the video showed that the fight actually took place at the Yamit 2000 Park in Holon, Israel.
📹 To watch the video: https://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/265561
In the video, youths were seen attacking security guards and throwing chairs at them. However, instead of the original soundtrack, the voice of party's deputy chairman, Beatrice von Struch is heard, as she presents the incident as it took place on German soil and was carried out by Muslim immigrants to Germany. "Stuttgart, 50 hooligans. Police operation against rioting youths, attacks on lifeguards," von Struch narrates.
There actually was a fight in the pool in Stuttgart last weekend, but the video didn't share it.
Sharp-eyed viewers noticed that the words on the security guards' shirts were not in German or English and following inquiries it was discovered that the words were Hebrew. "It was dumb of the party, we're not stupid," wrote one of the party's supporters in response to the video.
In the wake of the many comments mocking the party, the video was removed and replaced with a different one.
The background of the scuffle in Holon is unknown but many Israeli news reports said it was a conflict between security guards and "residents of East Jerusalem" or "Arabs."
5. JEWS AND THE NON-JEWS WHO LOVE THEM
by Judy Simon
[audio:2043827]
Dr. Rivkah Lambert Adler chanced upon quite a few non-Jews who had rejected the religions in which they had been raised, commemorated Saturday as the Day of Rest, and refrained from eating pork and shellfish. Some of these folks had been quietly changing their perspective on life for a decade or more. They were not interested in converting to Judaism. "What's going on here?" she asked.
"We read the Bible. We understand that G-d goes with the Jewish People, and we want to go with you too," she was told.
"Why don't you convert to Judaism?" Rivkah asked. "Because G-d created us as we are. We intend to serve the L-rd as non-Jews."
One of the people that Rivkah met had highlighted all of the passages in Tanach (the Bible) that were a message to the nations. Many of them visit Israel frequently. They say that they see G-d's promises to the Jewish People being fulfilled, just as the prophets of old predicted.
Rivkah wanted to write an article about the phenomenon. She ended up publishing a book called "Ten From the Nations." It was after the publication of the book that Rivkah started to realize the sheer number of people who were trying to connect in one way or another to the Jewish People. That's when she started the Torah School for the Nations, a place where non-Jews can learn about the laws of the Torah that apply to them, and to read the Tanach in the original Hebrew, using age-old Jewish commentaries.
It is a process that is not without criticism. And Rivkah understands this. She says that it's natural for Jews to want to put on protective armor. "For two thousand years the actions of the Church against our people were despicable. But the creation of Israel has changed the minds of many Christians, who are waking up to recognize that the Jewish People are indeed G-d's people," Rivkah explains. "If you can picture a bridge, we are a handful of Jews and a few dozen non-Jews who are coming from the opposite sides of the bridge and meeting in the middle. We are misunderstood by the people who are not on the bridge."
Tune in to meet a fine Jewish woman, who leads a good life by example, and who is on a path toward becoming "a light unto the Nations."
6. NETANYAHU EASES RESTRICTIONS ON GAZA STRIP
by Arutz Sheva Staff
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu approved a series of steps to ease restrictions on the Gaza Strip Thursday as part of his efforts to reach an agreement with the Hamas terrorist organization and to prevent the financial collapse of the Palestinian Authority, Kan 11 reported.
According to the report, Netanyahu had agreed to remove items from the "blacklist" of goods banned from entering Gaza, expand the export basket, and increase the number of merchants allowed to enter Israel from the Hamas-controlled enclave.
Among the 18 items removed from the "blacklist" were steel cables for large fishing boats banned for fear that they would be used for transportation within underground tunnels, and fertilizer for agriculture that had previously been banned. In addition, the export of iron doors, aluminum housewares, wipes and toys was permitted.
The age over which Gazan merchants would be permitted to enter Israel was lowered from 35 to 25. In practice, of the 5,000 merchants authorized to enter Israel, only 3,300 enter; Out of an export quota of 100 trucks per day only 30 actually enter Israel. Of the 25,000 meters of steel cables allowed to the Gaza Strip, only half were requested, and despite the approval they received to export plastic, the exportation of the cables has not yet begun.
7. SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA ROCKED BY BIGGEST EARTHQUAKE IN 25 YEARS
by Arutz Sheva Staff
Southern California was rocked by the strongest earthquake in a quarter century Thursday, shaking Los Angeles for some thirty seconds.
The US Geological Survey initially recorded a 6.6 magnitude earthquake southwest of Searles Valley, in a remote area of San Bernardino County, near the Mojave Desert. The estimate of the earthquake's magnitude was later downgraded slightly to 6.4.
The quake struck at 10:33 a.m. local time, some 8.7 kilometers below the surface.
While the earthquake hit in a sparsely populated desert area, the quake shook Los Angeles, North Las Vegas, and was even felt as far south as San Diego.
There are no immediate reports of damage or injuries, though the San Bernardino County Fire Department reported Thursday that it is "conducting assessment of the region".
The last time Southern California was struck by an earthquake of this magnitude was the January 17th, 1994 quake in Northridge, when a 6.6 magnitude earthquake and two 6.0 magnitude aftershocks killed close to 60 people and caused some $50 billion worth of damage.

8. POLL: A 'MEGA ALLIANCE' ON THE RIGHT WOULD BRING 19 SEATS
by Elad Benari
A poll conducted by the Maagar Mochot Institute for the Israel Hayom newspaper finds that without Avigdor Liberman, the right-wing bloc will be unable to secure the required threshold of 61 Knesset seats to form a government, and would win just 56 seats.
Likud wins 31 seats in this poll, Blue and White wins 30, Labor led by Amir Peretz wins 8 seats, and Ehud Barak's new party has only 4 seats.
United Right wins 8 seats in this poll, Shas has 6 and United Torah Judaism has 7. Meretz headed by Nitzan Horowitz wins 6 seats, Naftali Bennett's New Right wins 4 seats, Liberman's Yisrael Beytenu has 7 and the Arab Joint List wins 9.
The poll examined how the map of seats would look if the Jewish Home, National Union, Otzma Yehudit, New Right and Zehut were united. The result is surprising: a united list made up of all these parties would win 19 Knesset seats. In such a scenario, however, the Likud would be affected and win just 25 seats, and the right-wing bloc would still not pass the 61-seat threshold without Liberman.
The poll was conducted among 507 respondents, a representative sample of the adult population in Israel. The sampling error is 4.3%.

1. KUSHNER: ARAB STATES KEPT REFUGEES STATELESS
by Yoni Kempinski
US President Donald Trump's adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner, one of the architects of the administration's peace plan, addressed the issue of the 'Palestinian refugees' in a conversation with journalists.
He noted that the Arab countries had not absorbed Palestinian Arab refugees as Jews had been absorbed into the State of Israel. "You do have a situation when this whole thing started when you had 800,000 Jewish refugees that came out of all the different Middle Eastern countries, and you had roughly 800,000 Palestinian refugees."
"What's happened to the Jewish refugees is they've been absorbed by different places, whereas the Arab world has not absorbed a lot of these refugees over time. This situation exists because it exists. When we put out a political solution, we're gonna try to put forward the best proposed solutions that we think are pragmatic, achievable, and viable in this day and age," he said in response to a question by a Lebanese journalist.
"It's very easy, on this file, to find reasons why we shouldn't do something, and maybe that's why it's been in place for so long. But I think that the people of Lebanon would love to see a resolution to this issue, one that's fair. And I also think that the refugees, the Palestinian refugees in Lebanon, who are denied a lot of rights and who don't have the best conditions right now, would also like to see a situation where there's a pathway for them to have more rights and to live a better life. We'll address that when we get to the political plan."

In honor of Rosh Chodesh Tammuz, hundreds of worshipers arrived Thursday morning for a festive prayer at the Western Wall. The new Minister of Education and Chairman of the Jewish Home, Rabbi Rafi Peretz, joined the worshipers and called for maintaining the sanctity of the Western Wall throughout its length.
After the service, Rabbi Peretz said: "We must remember that we are in the generation of rebirth, meriting to see with our own eyes the return of G-d to Zion. We are making a great 'tikkun' [repair] for Tammuz, in which they would cry throughout the world, in which, unfortunately, we always suffered from the disgrace of destruction. Here we repair, pray and know that the Holy One, blessed be He, is returning His 'Shekhina' [presence] to Zion. This is how we will hold our heads and this is how we will live, for we are truly in a special generation and we are privileged to experience a great G-dly revelation on His nation Israel, with love."
Bezalel Zinni, head of the Joint Headquarters for the Preservation of the Sanctity of the Western Wall, said: "It was only recently reported that senior Jewish Federations in the US admit that most of the public in general and in Israel in particular does not understand or support the Reform campaign at the Western Wall, that remnant of our Holy Temple that was erased from its foundation, but to which the people of Israel are still loyal after 2,000 years."
"Again, it has become clear that all the talk of a 'rift' with Jews of the Diaspora is an invention disconnected from reality. We congratulate the Minister of Education, Rabbi Rafi Peretz, who, as he declared during the elections, arrived today and joined the masses of worshipers to express the widespread and clear public position that the sanctity of the Western Wall must be preserved throughout its length under the authority of the chief rabbinate of Israel only, and we are certain that he will also act to realize his words," Zinni added.
3. REPORT: LIKUD PRESSES TO CANCEL PA LAND THEFT DISCUSSION
by Mordechai Sones
The Regavim movement to preserve Israel's national lands and return of rule of law attacked the Likud today following a report in Yediot Ahronot newspaper that the party thwarted a discussion initiated by the movement that was planned to take place in the Knesset plenum on the issue of illegal Palestinian Authority construction.
The background to the discussion is data published by Regavim in recent days, according to which in the past ten years no less than 28,000 illegal Palestinian structures have been built in Area C, the areas of Judea and Samaria under full Israeli control under the Oslo Accords.
According to the report, after the Likud understood that the discussion was about illegal construction committed during Netanyahu's tenure, Likud MKs who supported holding a special session on the matter were asked to withdraw their signatures.
Regavim was particularly furious at the Likud Spokesman reaction to the report, who said "we oppose and act against illegal Palestinian construction, but we won't cooperate with cynical exercises by the opposition and the Left to garner media headlines."
Regavim noted, "In the last decade, the Palestinians have been encouraging European countries to take over large areas of Area C as part of the Fayyad Plan for establishing a Palestinian state," they said.
"If the just, moral, and right struggle against the ongoing failure that allows the establishment of a terror state around the corner turns the Regavim movement into the Left then we're a proud Left," countered Regavim.
The movement says, "it was clear to us that Likud members would lead the discussion, and we welcome the Likud members who signed the request to discuss the matter and expect Likud leadership to withdraw its opposition to holding this important discussion."
4. IDF TO ALLOW REFORM MILITARY FUNERALS
by Mordechai Sones
The IDF will allow a "Reform rabbi" or "rabbah" to hold military funeral ceremonies, the state's representative announced today at a hearing in the Supreme Court.
The hearing was held following a petition filed by Attorney Uri Regev in 2017 on behalf of the Hiddush Association for Religious Freedom and Equality against the IDF, claiming that Reform soldiers were discriminated against in connection with a military funeral.
The petition claims the IDF does not allow every Jewish soldier to be buried according to his faith and forces him to submit to an Orthodox military funeral run by the military rabbinate.
Following the hearing in the Supreme Court, Regev said, "Conducting a ceremony by a Reform rabbi will be a rare event, but what is more common is a secular military burial. It seems to me that in the wake of our petition, we are entering a new era."
The right to secular military burial was anchored in IDF orders already in 2017, and the novelty now is the possibility of conducting non-Orthodox burial without having to forego the military aspects of the ceremony.

5. ABBAS: BAHRAIN CONFERENCE A 'BIG LIE CONCEIVED BY KUSHNER
by Elad Benari
Palestinian Authority (PA) chairman Mahmoud Abbas responded on Wednesday to senior White House adviser Jared Kushner, who had earlier criticized the PA leadership for boycotting the US-led Bahrain conference last week.
"The Trump administration's peace plan will fail just as the economic conference in Bahrain failed," said Abbas, according to Israeli media outlets, describing the Bahrain conference as "a big lie conceived by Kushner."
"We will not work with the American administration until it walks back its decisions. Since the Oslo Accords, Israel has been working to destroy agreements. If Israel is not committed to agreements, we will not be committed either," he declared.
Abbas further stated that the PA would not accept the United States as a lone mediator in negotiations with Israel.
In a phone briefing with Israeli and Arab journalists earlier on Wednesday, Kushner said that the PA had "made a strategic mistake" by boycotting the Bahrain conference, in which the US administration presented the economic portion of its peace plan.
He did, however, note in response to a question from an Arab journalist about the US perception of Abbas and PA leadership, "I have a lot of respect for President Abbas, he's devoted his life to making peace, he's suffered some setbacks along the way. I believe in his heart he wants to make peace, and that we can give him an opportunity to try to achieve that."
The PA, in fact, has been boycotting the US ever since Trump's recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital in December of 2017 and his relocation of the US embassy to Jerusalem.
6. KUSHNER: PA MADE A FOOLISH & STRATEGIC MISTAKE
by Arutz Sheva Staff
In a phone briefing with Israeli and Arab journalists special advisory & Son-in-Law to US President Donald Trump said that the next step following the Bahrain conference will be announced next week.
In addition, he made clear that: "No plans for economic investments will be implemented before the implementation of a political plan"
"The president was very clear that he wants a solution to this issue and made it clear that he would work hard for that, but the Palestinian leadership will have to enlist and show that it is interested in a better life for the citizens," Kushner said.
Kushner noted that the economic plan presented at the conference has been "widely praised as comprehensive." He added that the US efforts have "definitely started a discussion in the Arab world" about Israel's place in the region.
"We've made a lot of progress in the Middle East in acceptance of Israel as a country," he asserted
"Palestinians are starting to see that Israel is not responsible for their problems, it's their leaders," he added.
Kushner blasted PA leadership for boycotting the Bahrain conference. "They made a strategic mistake by not engaging on this, they looked very foolish."
He added that "The Palestinian leadership will have to step up at some point and show that they want their people to live better lives."
He did, however, note in response to a question from an Arab journalist about the US perception of Abbas and PA leadership, "I have a lot of respect for President Abbas, he's devoted his life to making peace, he's suffered some setbacks along the way. I believe in his heart he wants to make peace, and that we can give him an opportunity to try to achieve that." He slammed as unconstructive the approach of "certain people around" Abbas who "aren't comfortable" with the American proposals and constantly attack them.
When asked about the "Palestinian refugees" he noted that those issues will be dealt with in the deal, however he chose to emphasize that there were thousands of Jewish refugees throughout the generations but they were absorbed by countries, while the Arab refugees weren't, and that's what brought to the situation today.
7. 'TRUMP ASKED IF OPERATION DANGEROUS'
by Mordechai Sones
The Israel Defense Prize was awarded today to a series of projects and activities that contributed to the security of the country and to maintaining its strength and qualitative advantage on the battlefield, both in terms of technology and operational aspects.
The award was presented at a festive ceremony held at the President's Residence in Jerusalem by President Reuven Rivlin, Prime Minister and Defense Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, Chief of Staff Lieutenant-General Aviv Kochavi, and Defense Ministry Director General (res.) Udi Adam.
Prime Minister Netanyahu referred to one of the operations that won the prize: bringing Iran's secret nuclear archive to Israel by the Mossad.
"I approved this action with the thought that the exposure of the plan will help persuade the President of the United States to abandon the dangerous nuclear agreement with Iran," Netanyahu said.
The Prime Minister added, "I want to tell you something I haven't told of to this day: I shared with the US President the idea of the operation even before it was carried out. When I met him in Davos, I told him I was going to send our men into the heart of Tehran to bring the archive. He asked me if it was dangerous. I told him that there was considerable risk in this, but that the result justifies the risk. So when I brought the main findings we uncovered in the archive to the Oval Office at the White House, he already knew what was going on. He expressed his appreciation for the daring and achievement. I have no doubt that this helped to confirm his decision to withdraw from this dangerous agreement."
Netanyahu continued: "Yesterday, Iran announced that it had crossed the threshold of 300 kg of enriched uranium. This is another defiant step in its quest to produce nuclear weapons. Israel will not allow Iran to produce nuclear weapons. Those who threaten us with annihilation there put themselves in danger of extinction and the leadership that thinks in such terms, in similar danger.
"We always defend ourselves by ourselves, but these forces of ours are really the forces, the brains and the hearts that are presented here, and you, the winners of the Israel Defense Prize, have a basic share in strengthening the deterrent force. You all did a great job. Blessings and continued success in your activity to ensure the eternity of the nation," Netanyahu concluded.

A city square on Petah Tikva's Haim Ozer street, the main drag on which City Hall is also located, was renamed "Donald Trump Square" in a festive ceremony on Wednesday night.
The inauguration saw the participation of Foreign Minister Haim Katz, Economics Minister Eli Cohen and Petah Tikva Mayor Rami Greenberg.
"There has never been such a sympathetic and supportive president as US President Donald Trump," Greenberg said. "We value and appreciate his support for the State of Israel and its citizens, and it is fitting that a central square in the fourth largest city in the State of Israel be named after him."
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu sent a letter to Mayor Greenberg in support of the decision.
"President Trump is a true friend of the State of Israel. During his tenure, he has demonstrated uncompromising commitment to ensuring our security and our future - standing firm against the Iranian threat, the decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, the transfer of the American embassy to Jerusalem and recognition of Israel's sovereignty."
"The fact that President Trump is being honored in Petah Tikvah is of great importance: The establishment of Petah Tikva, the mother of the moshavot, in 1878, is considered a pioneering act that paved the way for the redemption of the land. The founders of the colony knew many difficulties, but they did not give up. And their stubbornness paid off - as the years passed Petah Tikva established itself Its status as a city and mother in Israel, whose development has not stopped."

1. KNESSET SPEAKER: NO WAY TO CANCEL ELECTIONS
by Haim Lev
Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein (Likud) on Wednesday said his initiative to cancel September's elections had failed, and that the elections would go on as scheduled.
"In the past few days, I tried to advance for you, the citizens of Israel, a cancellation of these extraneous elections. This would have saved you billions. Unfortunately, not everyone involved cooperated, and therefore we are unable to cancel the elections," Edelstein tweeted.
Blue and White leader Yair Lapid tweeted: "Want to save even more billions, Yuli? Let's create a unity government without [Israeli Prime Minister] Binyamin [Netanyahu], that won't cave to the extortionists."
Last week, Edelstein told 103 FM Radio why he was working to cancel the repeat elections.
"Many people from the various parties said, 'What a huge mistake we made,'" he said then, adding that Blue and White MKs had also expressed regret for the new elections.
But even though members of most parties wanted to turn back the clock, Edelstein made it clear that "it will only work if we reach an absolute majority - not if we find some deserter who's willing to vote against it."
"I come with clean hands, and not as anyone's emissary. There were also people [who regretted the move] who had no fear at all of losing their seats in the next elections," he added.
2. ARE THE 'ETHIOPIAN PROTESTS' REALLY LED BY ETHIOPIANS?
by David Rosenberg
A far-left organization funded by the New Israel Fund has been actively aiding the recent wave of protests – many of them violent – which erupted across the country following the shooting death of Solomon Tekah, an Ethiopian teenager, in Haifa.
While some of the protests across the country have been peaceful, others turned violent, including attacks on police officers, ambulances, and private cars.
The joint Arab-Jewish 'Standing Together' organization, which is funded by the NIF, has taken an active role in the protests, which began Monday, resumed Tuesday following Tekah's funeral, and which are expected to continue Wednesday.
"When police officers shooting people, civilians, and kill them, we go out to the streets," Standing Together said. "When officers with a trigger finger start shooting people – that is everyone's problem, so we're all going out to the streets: blacks and whites, Jews and Arabs. Let's demand that the police protect civilians, or at least to begin with, that they stop killing them."
In many instances, participants in the more violent demonstrations are clearly not members of the Ethiopian community, with a number of Arab and non-Ethiopian Jewish rioters spotted taking part in the riots.
"About half of the demonstrators I saw were Arabs or non-Ethiopian [Jews]," said one witness, Yosef Tavin, who filmed one road-blocking demonstration in central Israel.
"There is, of course, a large group of Ethiopians holding signs and flags, but there is a group that's just as large of Arabs, and you can basically see that the Arabs are the ones running the demonstration and deciding where, who, when to attack, who will get stones and who won't."
"During the demonstration, I filmed a lot of rioting and violence. But then all of the sudden I noticed that there is someone, an Ashkenazi woman, who is bossing around the demonstrators, and they're all listening to her."
During the last wave of protests Tuesday night, 83 people were treated for injuries, with a number of private vehicles, police cars, and ambulances damaged by rioters.
Police and emergency responders have deployed extra units in anticipation of the resumption of the protests Wednesday.
3. LEADING RABBI MOVED BY US AMBASSADOR'S SPEECH
by Eliran Aharon
Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu, the chief rabbi of the northern Israeli city of Tzfat, praised US Ambassador to Israel, David Friedman, for his recent speech at the unveiling of the Pilgrims' Road near the Old City of Jerusalem.
During his speech, Friedman said the discovery and unveiling of the tunnel, which links the historic city of David to the Temple Mount, was important not only as a Jewish archeological treasure, but also held significance for the United States.
Friedman went on to link the foundational values of the United States to the Israeli capital city.
"The spiritual underpinnings of our society in which we honor the dignity of every human life comes from Jerusalem," said Friedman.
Days later, Friedman echoed this sentiment at the US embassy in Jerusalem's celebration marking the 243rd American Independence Day.
Rabbi Eliyahu later said he was moved by Friedman's comments.
"We grew up living in the reality that 'The Torah shall go forth from Zion, and the word of God from Jerusalem'," said Rabbi Eliyahu, citing the biblical verse, "and that verse relates to the entire world. "When we say it, it has one specific meaning. But when they come and say that the root of all of their values is from here, from Zion, that really follows the verse 'And the nations shall see thy triumph, and all kings thy glory.'"
"His comments [Friedman's] fit with what the vice president [Mike Pence] said during his address to the Knesset, exactly in those words. He said 'We Americans are a successful people because we adopted your values'. And President Trump himself, too, said as much in his Passover blessing. Finally, the world recognizes this, thank God."
Rabbi Eliyahu emphasized that the strengthening of the US-Israel relationship was important not only for Israel, or for cooperation in practical issues of policy, but also had a positive effect on American values.
"The closeness of ties between the US and Israel is mutual; it doesn't just strengthen us against Iran; it also gives values to American society. We aren't just economies, running after money, we're also value-based societies; we have values and we fight for them and it is very important for every American child to grow up knowing that American society isn't just about materialism and economics, but also is a society with values."

5. ISRAEL GEARS UP FOR NEW WAVE OF PROTESTS
by Arutz Sheva Staff
New protests against the shooting death of an Ethiopian-Israeli teenager in Haifa by an off-duty police officer are expected to be held across Israel beginning Wednesday afternoon.
The protests, which are slated to include road-blockings, follow two days of demonstrations and riots across the country in response to the killing of 19-year-old Solomon Tekah, an Ethiopian-Israeli man from Haifa's Kiryat Haim neighborhood.
According to a message by protest organizers, Route 38 near Beit Shemesh will be blocked starting at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
Half an hour later, protesters will gather for a demonstration in the northern city of Afula's Azmaut Square.
At 5:00 p.m., demonstrators are scheduled to gather outside of city hall in Petah Tikva.
In addition, road-blocking demonstrations are expected at 5:00 p.m. in Netanya on the coastal road near Ikea and in Tel Aviv at Azrieli Junction. Protesters are also slated to gather at 5:00 p.m. at Hanegev Junction in Beer Sheva.
At 5:30, protests are expected outside of the central police station in Rosh Haayin.
By 6:00 p.m. the protests will expand to Ashkelon, outside of the main sports center, to Ashdod, and to Kiryat Gat.
In Rishon Letzion and Jerualem's Pat Junction, protests are expected beginning at 7:00 p.m.
During the last wave of protests Tuesday night, 83 people were treated for injuries, with a number of private vehicles, police cars, and even ambulances damaged by rioters.
Police and emergency responders have deployed extra units in anticipation of the resumption of the protests Wednesday.
The riots first started Monday, following the death of 19-year-old Solomon Tekah in Haifa Sunday night.
Tekah, a member of the Ethiopian community in Israel, was fatally wounded Sunday night when an off-duty police officer spotted a group of young men fighting in the Kiryat Haim neighborhood of Haifa.
According to the officer who opened fire, when he tried to break up the fight, he was attacked by three of the young men, who allegedly hurled stones at him. Fearing for his life, the officer said, he opened fire at the ground to scare off his attackers.
One of the bullets ricocheted, he claimed, hitting and mortally wounding Tekah.
On Tuesday, hundreds gathered in the Tel Regev cemetery in Haifa for Tekah's funeral.
Relatives of Tekah claimed he was murdered by police.
"It's not 'killing', it's murder," said Tekah's cousin, Amir.
"What was he killed by? A work accident? Being hit by a car? When you take the kids out to the playground, do you go out with a gun? [The officer] saw a black man walking. And after the cop in Bat Yam was cleared of charges, what does an officer care about killing him?" Amir continued, referencing the death of Yehuda Biadga.
Biadga, a mentally-ill 24-year-old resident of Bat Yam and member of the Ethiopian community, was shot and killed this January when he was spotted brandishing a knife.

Approximately 15,000 Chabad Lubavitch hasidim gathered Monday evening in Jerusalem, to mark the 25th anniversary of the passing of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the Lubavitcher Rebbe.
Throughout the event, hasidim and other affiliated individuals close to the Rebbe spoke about how he impacted their lives and how they were influenced by his great light, which continues to shine even today, 25 years after his passing.
Rabbi Yosef Yitzhak Aharonov, who chairs the center for activities of Chabad emissaries in Israel, said the speech given by Poway's Rabbi Yisrael Goldstein at the United Nations (UN) General Assembly last week was one that the Rebbe had proofread 32 years ago, in preparation for planned speech at a UN event at that time.
In the center of the Jerusalem gathering, a screen showed a livestream of events happening at the Rebbe's gravesite.

Days later, Friedman echoed this sentiment at the US embassy in Jerusalem's celebration marking the 243rd American Independence Day.

by Arutz Sheva Staff
Yisrael Beytenu leader Avigdor Liberman responded Tuesday to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, who criticized Liberman for "slandering" the religious Zionist community and the religious pre-military academies during the Herzliya Conference.
"Mr. Prime Minister, you are the last one who should teach me and preach to me about religious Zionism," Liberman said.
"It is you, Mr. Prime Minister, who made the decision to transfer Hevron to the Palestinians. It is you, Mr. Prime Minister, who conducted negotiations with Arafat at the Wye Plantation. It is you, Mr. Prime Minister, who voted in favor of the disengagement in the Knesset. You are paying compensation fees to a terrorist organization Hamas," he added.
"A little modesty will not hurt you," Liberman concluded.
Netanyahu said earlier that "Religious Zionism is the salt of the earth and has a tremendous contribution to the IDF and the State of Israel. Among the graduates of religious preparatory programs and religious Zionism are the late Roi Klein, Uriel and Eliraz Peretz, the late Dror Weinberg and many fighters and commanders who gave their lives for the sake of Israel's security ... Anyone who attacks Israel's heroes just to get a few votes should be ashamed."
The prime minister issued his statement in response to Liberman's address to the 2019 Herzliya Conference Tuesday morning, where Liberman blasted the Religious Zionist establishment – targeting its political leaders, rabbis, and army prep schools.
"What is happening to Religious Zionism is a Greek tragedy. I was friendly with Zevulun Hammer and Yitzhak Levy," said Liberman, referring to lawmakers for the Jewish Home's forerunner, the National Religious Party.
"But now the historic National Religious Party has nothing in common with the Jewish Home or National Union – no connection between Zevulun Hammer and Bezalel Smotrich."
Liberman blamed the change on the "take-over by a small group of fanatical haredi-Religious Zionists [Hardal]."
"I hope it will end," continued Liberman, expressing hope for a return to the pre-Jewish Home days of the National Religious Party. "I want to see the historic National Religious Party, not the National Haredi-Religious Party."
Turning to Religious Zionist pre-army preparatory schools, Liberman accused Religious Zionist rabbis of using the schools to form "private militias".
"The preparatory academies are developing in the direction of private militias, a kind of Falange," referencing the right-wing Spanish Falangist movement, and the Lebanese Phalange paramilitary group.
"I asked students at an army prep academy what they would do if they received an order from their commander, but their rabbi told them to do the opposite. I was shocked to see that most of them took 30 to 40 seconds to think about it. Most of them said they would obey their orders. But some said explicitly: 'I won't go against the rabbi's instructions'."

Australian footage released today shows how important it is to keep an eye on children at the train station, especially when boarding and alighting.
A video from the security camera on one of Sydney's train platforms documents the critical minutes when a mother with a baby in a carriage and a 4-year-old boy wait for the train to reach the platform.
The boy, excited to board the train, left his mother's hand and walked forward carelessly, without noticing the gap between the cab and the platform - and fell in.
The mother, who noticed immediately, waved her hands to other passengers to signal the train driver not to go. A number of other people at the station rushed to extract the child, without his being injured.

6. SYRIA ACCUSES ISRAEL OF 'STATE TERRORISM'
by Arutz Sheva Staff
The Syrian government and state-run media accused Israel on Tuesday of "state terrorism", following a series of military strikes on targets inside Syrian territory that left 15 dead.
"Israeli authorities are increasingly practicing state terrorism," the Assad regime's foreign ministry said Tuesday morning in a statement carried by the SANA outlet, a government mouthpiece.
"The latest heinous Israeli aggression falls within the framework of ongoing Israeli attempts to prolong the crisis in Syria."
The Syrian government filed a complaint against Israel at the United Nations Security Council, calling the strikes "dangerous and hostile", and accusing the US of backing the Israeli strikes.
Sites outside of Damascus and Homs were hit in a series of strikes between Sunday night and early Monday morning.
The London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that airstrikes and fire from Israeli naval vessels killed at least nine soldiers, most of them Iranians.
In addition, the SOHR reported that six civilians, including three children, were killed in the bombings.
The air strikes have been attributed to Israel – both by the SOHR and the Syrian government-run media outlet SANA.
Israel has refused to comment on the strikes, in keeping with its policy of not claiming responsibility for attacks on Iranian and Assad regime targets in Syria.
The attacks targeted Assad regime and Iranian military positions outside of Damascus, SOHR reported, along with facilities used by the Hezbollah terrorist organization.
At least 10 sites in the Damascus area were struck, SOHR reported.
Among the targets hit by the strikes were the headquarters of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards' 91st Brigade, stationed south of Damascus; a military research center, and ammunition storage facilities near Qara, just east of the Lebanese border.

Representatives from around the world gathered in the City of David, just outside of the Old City of Jerusalem, on Sunday, for the unveiling of the Pilgrim's Road, a key archeological site in the Israeli capital city.
US Ambassador David Friedman, White House special envoy Jason Greenblatt, South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham, Israeli ministers Rafi Peretz and Uri Ariel, Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon, Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's wife Sara Netanyahu, American Jewish philanthropists Sheldon and Miriam Adelson, and the US ambassadors to Portugal, Denmark, and France were among those in attendance at the ceremony.
Addressing the gathering, Ambassador Friedman hailed the discovery of the Second Temple-period walkway as one of the greatest archeological discoveries of the 20th century.
"The discovery in the City of David... is one of the greatest archeological discoveries, perhaps in the century," said Friedman.
"The centrality of Jerusalem to the Jewish people and the two Jewish temples - we all knew that, but now we have the irrefutable evidence."
"The Pilgrimage Road and Pool of Silwan allow us to go back in time, back in history. It brings the Bible to life. We can walk that path and imagine the great rabbinical figures walking that path."
Friedman called the walkway, which linked the ancient City of David to the Temple Mount and was used for bringing sacrifices to the Temple, a "living, breathing piece of history", "not a relic".
Noting the protests outside of the event by far-left activists who decried the participation of senior US officials, Friedman explained his decision to participate in the unveiling ceremony.
"Whether there was ever any doubt of the propriety and accuracy...of President Trump recognizing Jerusalem, I think this lays it to rest."
"Why did an American ambassador come to this event to speak here?"
"What the Declaration of the Independence did was to rethink the relationship between government and the citizens… but how did the founding fathers know what rights to enshrine?"
"They came from the Bible," continued Friedman. "And what place did the Bible come from?"
"The spiritual underpinnings of our society in which we honor the dignity of every human life comes from Jerusalem."

[Above: Relatives of Solomon Tekah gather for his funeral in Kiryat Haim]
The funeral procession for an Ethiopian-Israeli teenager who was killed by an off-duty Israeli police officer over the weekend made its way to the Tel Regev cemetery in Haifa, Tuesday afternoon.
Solomon Tekah, a member of the Ethiopian community in Israel, was fatally wounded Sunday night when an off-duty police officer spotted a group of young men fighting in the Kiryat Haim neighborhood of Haifa.
Hundreds joined the funeral procession for Tekah Tuesday afternoon, including some relatives who accused the police of murder.
Tekah's death, like that of Biadga, sparked protests in the Ethiopian community.
While the officer responsible for Tekah's death has been taken off of duty and arrested as the investigation continues, protests across Israel broke out, including several violent demonstrations.
Three police officers were injured Monday night in Haifa, outside of a police station in the Kiryat Haim neighborhood where the shooting took place.
Hundreds of rioters clashed with police, throwing rocks and shooting fireworks at officers, prompting police to respond with stun grenades to break up the crowd.
Police expect the riots to continue after the funeral, while hoping to defuse the situation by reaching out to the Ethiopian community.
One thousand demonstrators remained gathered Tuesday outside of the Kiryat Haim police station where three officers were injured, police spokesman Mickey Rosenfeld told AFP Tuesday afternoon.
"Yesterday evening there were disturbances in Kiryat Haim. Three police officers were injured," he said.
"There were about 1,000 people in the area of the police station."
"Police are speaking to leaders of the Ethiopian community to calm the situation down," added Rosenfeld."
Aside from the riots in Kiryat Haim, most of the protests Monday night were peaceful, but included lengthy traffic disruptions as demonstrators blocked roads including Highway 4 in central Israel.

by Arutz Sheva Staff
2. PLANE SAFELY MAKES EMERGENCY LANDING AT BEN GURION AIRPORT
by Arutz Sheva Staff
An emergency was declared at Ben Gurion Airport after a plane tire blew out upon its launch. The plane landed safely.
The plane, an Electra Airways Boeing 737-400 experienced the malfunction upon takeoff from the airport in Cologne, Germany. 152 passengers and crew were aboard. The plane landed shortly after 4 PM.
The alert level at Ben-Gurion Airport was raised to level 3 after the remains of one of the wheels of the plane were found on the runway in Germany, and all flights were diverted to land at Ramon Airport.

Magen David Adom teams, officers, firefighters and paramedics were rushed to the airport from Gush Dan to secure the landing of the plane, and ambulances and intensive care ambulances were making their way to Ben-Gurion Airport before the plane landed.
It is still unclear how much damage the plane has sustained.
