In a special interview with Arutz Sheva, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that his declaration regarding the application of sovereignty in Judea and Samaria does not come suddenly ahead of the elections, but rather is the continuation of a trend he has been promoting for several months.
"I prefer to do it with American support. I spoke about it with the relevant authorities and it takes time to coordinate. I am not talking about the entire area, but first of all about the settlements. Not just the blocs, but the blocs and the isolated settlements, I do not abandon them or transfer them to Palestinian rule, which would destroy them."
When asked whether he is committed to the non-establishment of a Palestinian state, the prime minister says, "There will be no Palestinian state, not as people talk about it. It will not be because I am making sure of it. I am not uprooting settlements, rather applying sovereignty to them. I am maintaining a united Jerusalem and I am maintaining our control on the entire area west of the Jordan River to prevent another Gaza. This is my policy. I told that to the Americans, President Trump and President Obama. Vice President Biden told me that this is not a state. I told him to call it whatever he wanted. He said it was not sovereignty. I said that that's what I'm willing to do, that's all. "
"No one has fought for Judea and Samaria as I fought. Who could have stood against a government of more than eight years of Obama's administration that came and pressed you all the time? I stood up and pushed off those pressures. I brought President Trump's recognition of Jerusalem, the transfer of the embassy and the recognition in the Golan Heights, which is very important to what I plan in Judea and Samaria," says Netanyahu, who added he intends to carry out the annexation gradually and with agreement.
On the historic 2009 Bar-Ilan speech in which he endorsed Palestinian statehood, Netanyahu says that he does not regret it, but added that what he said afterward deserves attention. According to him, when asked to explain his intentions, he made it clear the next day that he intended to give the Palestinians all the capabilities to manage their lives and nothing beyond that, a statement which was told did not actually speak of a state. "The point is that I repelled pressure for withdrawal. I am against uprooting not one just one community, but one resident."
On the evacuations carried out under his leadership in Judea and Samaria, Netanyahu says that these were three evictions forced upon him by the court, and he gave them a proper response when Amichai was built in place of Amona; after the destruction of nine houses in Ofra, 90 houses began to be built; after the destruction in Netiv Ha'avot, 350 houses were approved. "We destroyed a little and built a lot, and now we have approved 18,000 housing units. There was no such construction before. In the next term, I intend to gradually apply Israeli law to the settlements in Judea and Samaria."
2. WATCH: THIS MAY BE ISRAEL FIVE YEARS AFTER A PEACE DEAL
by Arutz Sheva Staff
📹 To watch the video: https://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/261540
A new pre-election video released by the Zionist organization Im Tirtzu depicts a simulated news broadcast several years in the future in which Israel is suffering from an array of security issues due to the establishment of a Palestinian state.
In the video, the presenter Maayan Adam – a TV presenter on Channel 12 – reports on rockets and incendiary balloons beings fired on Ben-Gurion Airport, the closure of Highway 6 due to terror riots, and the closure of the Western Wall for Jews.
Rotem Sela, a left-wing Israeli model, is presented as emigrating from Israel after a rocket landed near her home.
She is presented as explaining her emigration with a social media post stating that, "We didn't do enough to make Palestinians feel that we are a country of all its citizens."
At the video's conclusion, Adam states: "This is the news that we might be seeing in the near future if we don't vote in the upcoming elections for parties whose DNA is against dismantling Jewish communities and dividing Jerusalem."
3. FOX NEWS HOST ENDORSES NETANYAHU AHEAD OF ELECTION
by David Rosenberg
Mark Levin, a popular conservative pundit and Fox News television host, has endorsed Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's reelection bid, and called on Israeli voters to back the incumbent premier in his effort to win a fifth term as Israel's head of government.
Netanyahu, whose Likud party is narrowly trailing the Blue and White party of ex-IDF chief Benny Gantz in the final pre-election polls, received Levin's endorsement on last week's Wednesday evening edition of The Mark Levin Show radio program.
Levin's radio show is one of the top ten most popular radio programs in the US, with a weekly audience in excess of 11 million listeners. Levin is also the host of the Life, Liberty & Levin show on Fox News and LevinTV on the Conservative Review's CRTV.
During last Wednesday's program, Levin accused the Obama administration of working to undermine Netanyahu's 2015 campaign.
"We had Barack Obama use the State Department and American tax dollars to try and defeat Benjamin Netanyahu last time around," Levin said. "We have the New York Times that has a daily drumbeat of anti-Israel, anti-Netanyahu stories by cretins, malcontents, miscreants, and that sort of crowd."
The conservative talk-radio host went on not only to endorse Netanyahu, but said the Israeli leader had been the "most important leader" of the free world during the Obama administration.
"I just want to encourage the Israelis as strongly as I know how to vote for Benjamin Netanyahu and his Likud Party. Benjamin Netanyahu has not only been a great leader for Israel but during the time when Obama was President he was the most important leader of the free world."
"He is a tremendous ally of this country, and he's hated by the Left because he's a strong leader. He's hated by the Left because he's made Israel a strong, economic country. He's moved it towards the free market and away from socialism. He's hated by the Left because the Israelis know how to defend themselves, and they've built up a military second to none in the Middle East."
Levin went on to deride Netanyahu's opponents – without naming them – as "political munchkins", while comparing the Israeli premier to popular conservative leaders of the 1980s including Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher.
"I cannot believe that the people of Israel having witnessed these incredibly historic events, having benefitted from the rational, free market policies of their Prime Minister and his government, having benefited from the security decisions of their Prime Minister and his government, that they would dislodge him from office. It would be like the British after World War II voting out Winston Churchill. Benjamin Netanyahu is, for lack of a better parallel, Israel's Winston Churchill, Israel's Ronald Reagan, Israel's Margaret Thatcher, if you get my drift in terms of policies. He is a strong statesman surrounded by little, political munchkins."
Last year, Levin hosted Netanyahu on Life, Liberty & Levin on Fox News for a 14-minute sit-down interview which focused on the Iranian threat, the relocation of the US embassy, and even Netanyahu's relationship with 2012 Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

4. SAUDI NUCLEAR FACILITY MAY BE COMPLETED WITHIN A YEAR
by Arutz Sheva Staff
New satellite images show rapid construction on an experimental nuclear reactor in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, CNN reported.
According to International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) former director for nuclear inspections Robert Kelley, the reactor could be completed in "nine months to a year."
He also told CNN that the facility is designed for training scientists, noting that "it's the size of a wastebasket and has no strategic importance."
It would take 100 years to process enough plutonium for a nuclear weapon, he added.
Saudi Arabia has not kept its ambitions secret, but promised that its nuclear program will be used to supply domestic electricity, enabling the country to export more of its oil.
However, Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman warned last year that "without a doubt" if Iran develops nuclear weapons, "we will follow suit as soon as possible."
Last month, the US approved the sale of nuclear technology and assistance to Saudi Arabia.
Israel has requested that the Americans remove all the nuclear fuel used from Saudi Arabia so that it would not be reprocessed.
5. NETANYAHU: I DISCUSSED ANNEXATION WITH TRUMP OFFICIALS
by Arutz Sheva Staff
Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu spoke out Monday morning regarding his pledge over the weekend to annex Israeli settlements in Judea and Samaria, pushing back on accusations that he has no intention of carrying out the proposal.
Netanyahu, who is seeking a fifth term (and fourth consecutive term) as premier in this Tuesday's general election, is in an effective dead-heat with the center-left Blue and White party of former IDF Chief of Staff Benny Gantz.
The final three days of polling give the Blue and White party a slight edge – within the margin of error – over the Likud, with an average of about 29 seats, compared to an average of about 28 seats for the Likud.
"There is a gap of several mandates between us and Gantz," Netanyahu said in an interview with Channel 12 on Monday. "The Likud and the right-wing are complacent; some are staying home [on election day], but they need to turn out."
"In this present situation, there is no way that we will be given the task of forming the government," adding that the Blue and White party would likely form a narrow left-wing government.
"They will go with the Labor party and Meretz and form a blocking majority with the Arabs, and we'll end up with a left-wing government."
On Saturday, just days before the election, Netanyahu announced that he would annex Israeli towns in Judea and Samaria in his next term if he is reelected, a declaration that won him praise from the Israeli Right, while drawing criticism from the Blue and White party and condemnation from the Palestinian Authority.
Some, including Netanyahu's chief election opponent, Benny Gantz, dismissed the pledge as an insincere campaign promise designed to bring in right-wing voters.
"Why not ask how in 13 years Netanyahu could have annexed and didn't?" Gantz said on Sunday, calling the pledge a "meaningless statement."
"It's a shame to play with people like that."
During the interview Monday, however, Netanyahu pushed back, saying that he had already begun laying the groundwork for annexation, and had broached the idea with senior Trump administration officials, and that the process hadn't been implemented yet because it "takes time".
"Why did it take two years to get recognition of the Golan Heights even with such a friendly president? It takes time," said Netanyahu.
"I prefer to do this [annex] with agreement. I discussed this with representatives of President Trump and I told them, in my opinion, there is no way around it, and I think it is also the right thing to do. But it is going to happen. This isn't something I cooked up for the elections."
"I had to go through three phases: the first phase was the intense pressure put on me," Netanyahu continued, referring to the Obama White House's demands Israel cease all construction in Judea and Samaria.
"The Obama administration told me: 'Not even a single brick'. But, thank God, we overcame that. From there we moved on to the stage of expanded construction, and now we'll move to the next stage, that is, applying sovereignty to [Israeli] towns. That's all I said. I prefer to do this in stages, with American support."
6. ANALYSIS: WHY BENNY GANTZ IS UNFIT TO BE ISRAEL'S PRIME MINISTER
by Yochanan Visser
Blue and White supporters, hopeful for the premiership of Israel Benny Gantz, raised eyebrows last week when he compared Premier Binyamin Netanyahu to Turkish dictator Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
"What we do see is a phenomenon reminiscent of Turkey, where Erdogan is protecting himself from investigations and from other efforts aimed at preventing corruption," Gantz told Times of Israel founder and editor-in-chief David Horovitz.
"You really fear the State of Israel could become like Turkey?" Horovitz asked Gantz.
"Yes, and we are headed there. I am very worried about it," Gantz answered without blinking an eye.
Gantz then seemed to be backtracking on his outrageous accusation by pointing to Jewish democratic history and the tradition of open debate which started back in pre-Talmudic times.
The Blue and White leader, nevertheless, doubled down on his claim that Netanyahu was turning Israel into a second Turkey, the country where the Kurdish minority is brutally oppressed, journalists and academics are jailed by the droves and where Erdogan has transformed his country into the second Islamic Republic.
"What did Erdogan do? He made sure that you can't investigate him, and you can't put him on trial, and not his family either. You are going to get the Israeli version of the Turkish system. It won't be the same, it will be something like it. That's what will happen here," Gantz warned.
Asked again if he really thinks Israel's future as a democratic country is at stake if Netanyahu is re-elected, Gantz pointed to ministers in Netanyahu's cabinet and the Prime Minister himself who are, according to Gantz, undermining Israel's democratic character by attacking state institutions.
It wasn't the first time Gantz didn't make good on his promise, repeated during the same interview, that he would be a "positive alternative" to the current leadership and would refrain from mudslinging and would keep "the high ground" in his campaign.
After launching his Israel Resilience Party last February, Gantz let loose a blistering below-the-belt attack on Netanyahu, who he described as a US-trained fake who spent his time learning flawless English and attending cocktail parties in the US while he, Gantz, was risking his life in trenches with IDF soldiers.
Netanyahu condemned the attack as "shameful", and pointed to his participation in daring IDF operations as a member of the Sayeret Matkal elite combat unit of the Israel Defense Forces and the injuries he suffered during battles with Israel's enemies.
To understand how wrong Gantz was when he compared Netanyahu to Erdogan one only has to look at Erdogan's political track record.
Erdogan slowly transformed secular and democratic Turkey into an Islamist country where freedom of press and speech are a thing of the past. The Turkish strongman also interferes in the internal affairs of other countries, including Israel where he is trying to turn Jerusalem into a bastion of Islamists and aids terrorist groups hell-bent on the destruction of the Jewish state.
The Turkish dictator used a botched coup, which some say was a false flag operation, to start a massive crackdown on political opponents which is continuing to this day and even goes as far as chasing down and intimidating opponents of his regime in Western countries.
The best example of this was the harassment of US citizens in Washington June 2017, when Erdogan's security detail kicked and punched demonstrators near the Turkish embassy in Washington after he returned from a disappointing meeting with US President Donald Trump.
Erdogan also betrayed his allies in NATO when he purchased the Russian S-400 missile shield and threatened to lay siege on the Incirlik NATO base after the botched coup, citing CIA involvement in the attempt to overthrow his regime.
The current Muslim Brotherhood chief is responsible for the oppression of Christians in Turkey and is even threatening foreign journalists who dare to expose his crimes against humanity and his expansionist policies in the Middle East, as I can testify.
In 2016, six years after the Israeli raid on the Mavi Marmara, a Turkish lawyer affiliated with the Erdogan regime sent a threatening letter to my former employer The Western Journal in Arizona, USA in which the regime demanded I apologize for and correct a report of the raid on the Turkish ship by Israeli naval commandos.
My 'crime' was I had written that Turks belonging to the IHH organization in Turkey, an Islamist organization affiliated with Erdogan's AKP party, had initiated the violence on the Mavi Marmara by using iron rods and knives to attack Israeli soldiers who boarded the vessel.
I later was informed that it was dangerous for me to board a plane to Istanbul because of the risk that the Turkish regime would arrest me.
If we now take a look at Gantz' accusation that Netanyahu is turning Israel into a new Turkey because he and other ministers in his cabinet are 'attacking' state institutions and media or are defending themselves against corruption charges, we will see how dead wrong the Blue and White leader was and how he showed he hasn't a clue about what's going on in Turkey.
As Ruthie Blum pointed out in a column for The Jerusalem Post, the 'dangerous trend' Gantz signaled in Israeli politics "is actually a positive progression in a system based on the will of the people, not the whim of despots like Erdogan."
Israelis enjoy free speech but don't want their tax money spend on art which portrays them as criminals Blum wrote what she did in reference to Culture Minister Miri Regev's policy of halting state-funding of artists or art projects which distort the truth about Israeli society or the Israeli army.
Israelis also support efforts by Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked to curb the power of a Supreme Court which intervenes in political matters or overturns democratic decisions taken by the government and the Knesset.
As for Netanyahu's alleged attempts to crack down on the freedom of the press in Israel, law experts have pointed out that the charges brought against Netanyahu by Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit endanger Israeli democracy, not the PM's attempts to get more favorable coverage from staunchly anti-Netanyahu media outlets.
Professor Alan Dershowitz warned that these charges would open a Pandora\s box of horribles since every government official who seeks more positive coverage by the press and then did something which would help the media would become subject to police investigation.
Gantz has said that Israel deserves a leader who is more "statesmanlike and serious". Someone who tries "to maintain the high ground as far as possible"
The former IDF Chief of Staff's interview with The Times of Israel made clear he has a lot to learn before he is able to become that statesman and obviously cannot compete with the man he wants to replace as the Prime Minister of Israel.
After all, even Gantz admitted during the same interview Netanyahu has done "fine things" for Israel.
7. SENATOR CALLS FOR MUTUAL DEFENSE AGREEMENT WITH ISRAEL
by Ben Ariel
Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) on Saturday called on the United States to enter into a mutual defense agreement with Israel to tell the world that "an attack against Israel would be considered an attack against the United States", The Associated Press reports.
Graham made the comments at the annual meeting of the Republican Jewish Coalition in Las Vegas.
He added that it is time for the US to declare to the world how important its relationship is with Israel.
America should tell Israel's enemies that if they seek "to destroy the one and only Jewish state, you have to come through us to get them," said Graham.
The Senator also suggested the Republican-controlled US Senate would vote in a month or so to formally recognize Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights and force Democrats to go on the record on the issue.
US President Donald Trump recently signed a proclamation recognizing Israeli sovereignty of the Golan Heights which was liberated by Israel from Syria during the 1967 Six Day War. Israel annexed the Golan Heights in 1981, in a move that has never been recognized by the international community.
Trump spoke earlier at the same gathering, where he discussed the upcoming Israeli elections.
"Well, it's going to be close -- I think it's going to be close. Two good people," he said, referring to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and rival Benny Gantz.
"Unlike other presidents, I keep my promises," he emphasized, adding that moving the US Embassy to Jerusalem was a "historic action that had been decades in waiting" and that the US-Israel relationship has never been better.
"I stood with your prime minister at the White House to recognize Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights," continued Trump.
"Some of you won't like this, maybe, but I would love to see peace in the Middle East," Trump said, adding that if White House adviser Jared Kushner and US Special Envoy to the Middle East Jason Greenblatt can't broker peace in the Middle East, "nobody can."
8. RECORDING INDICATES J'LEM CAR-RAMMING WAS TERROR ATTACK
by Arutz Sheva Staff
Eyewitnesses confirmed the accounts of the victims of a vehicular attack at the Jaffa Gate of the Old City of Jerusalem two weeks ago.
The witnesses were a newly married couple who were the first to report the attack to the police.
The police quickly classified the incident as a traffic accident even after hearing from the couple.
During their call to the police the couple expressed their alarm at the time of the attack. "This was a terrorist attack right here in Jerusalem, a ramming and a stabbing at the entrance to the Old City under Jaffa Gate. A stabbing. They ran at them with knives. They got out of the car. He went the other way and crushed him against the wall. They went after those two students, and I had no idea what to do."
The couple added: "He ran over him, pinned him to the wall, backed up over him, and they ran at them with knives. The two of them with knives ... I saw a car turn right and wildly knock a man into the fence, they attacked him. I saw a knife. They jumped on them."
According to the couple, the victims were clearly haredim. "Two haredim and two men dressed in black. The victims were haredim and the assailants were dressed in black, really dark. My wife said that she saw I knife. I saw them running and attacking them."
Later in the phone conversation, the couple directed the police cars to the location of the stabbing.
When asked to describe the vehicle involved in the attack, the husband said that he could not remember the color of the car. "The right bumper broke and fell off. I was just behind the vehicle that was driving. As I stood there, he just turned right wildly, struck them, and they left [the car]. I'm sure I saw two attacking two. My wife says she saw the knife."
The police refused the request of attorney Haim Bleicher of the Honenu organization to recognize the victim of the attack as a victim of terrorism. The police informed Bleicher that the "investigation of those involved in the incident did not raise suspicions of a terrorist attack but that it was a traffic accident. The investigation file was transferred for further processing to the traffic accident department."
However, the couple who reported the attack were not called upon to testify and went on their honeymoon with no idea that the police were not treating the incident as a deliberate attack. They agreed to testify after the Honenu organization reached out to them.
Bleicher said: "This is a very serious mishap in which a terrorist caught after a brutal terrorist attack is released a few hours later, while the police accept the version of the assailant and explain it to all the media, while the immediate and clear evidence speaks of deliberate acts."
"In this case, there is no logical explanation for the conduct of the police, the silencing of the attack and the severe injury to the wounded who were accused by the police officers of a fight. We hope that the police and theirs superiors will come to an immediate conclusion too examine the causes of the problem, and to examine a chain of additional cases in which suspicion of similar conduct arises," he said.

1. NETANYAHU SAYS 'NO' TO PALESTINIAN STATE
by Arutz Sheva Staff
In an interview with the editor of a conservative Israeli weekly, Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said that he has already told White House adviser Jared Kushner and US Special Envoy to the Middle East Jason Greenblatt that there can be no Palestinian state.
In the interview, published this Friday in Hebrew, Makor Rishon editor Hagai Segal raised the issue of US President Donald Trump's "Deal of the Century" which, he said, would "probably be on the table immediately after the elections."
But Prime Minister Netanyahu said that he did not know when the Americans would present the plan.
"I asked that question in a visit to Washington now, and I did not get an answer: If they had wanted to present the plan right after the elections, they would have said so. In any event, I stated my guidelines for the plan. I will not accept any plan that uproots even a single settlement or settler," Netanyahu said.
Hagai Segal: Could there be Palestinian sovereignty over Jewish settlements?
Netanyahu: "Certainly not. Not even a single one. Governance west of the Jordan River will remain in our hands. We have the responsibility for governing from a security point of view over the entire area. That is our condition. We will not commit suicide to win a positive article in the New York Times, which will not last more than two hours. "
Hagai Segal: So what will the Palestinians get from you?
''They will run their own lives," PM Netanyahu responded. "We have no interest in running Nablus." He repeated that "As far as I'm concerned, there are three iron conditions: No settlers are displaced and secondly, we are sovereign from a security point of view in the entire area west of the Jordan River. Third, I will not divide Jerusalem."
2. AMBASSADOR FRIEDMAN TO TAKE PART IN MARCH OF THE LIVING
by Arutz Sheva Staff
US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman will lead a delegation of US ambassadors to the 31st March of the Living in Poland on Holocaust Memorial Day.
Some 10,000 Jewish and non-Jewish youth from all over the world will walk 3.2 kilometers between the Auschwitz and Birkenau camps, in memory of those who perished in the Holocaust and in a call to fight anti-Semitism. This year the main event of the Holocaust Day will be devoted to the memory of Greek Jewry and the singer Yehuda Poliker will participate in the march and perform at the ceremonies.
The marchers will call for a global fight against anti-Semitism amid the growing number of of hate crimes against Jews around the world in the past two years. They will also take part in a large-scale digital ad campaign under the slogan: #SayNoToAntisemitism.

20 young people from all over the world, some of whom have experienced anti-Semitism on their own, will sign a joint treaty to combat racism and antisemitism and call on young people around the world to take part in an international event on the eve of Holocaust Remembrance Day in Krakow.
"Unfortunately, lately anti-Semitism has reared its ugly head, and studies in the US and Europe have shown that about half of the youth have never heard of Auschwitz before. One of our goals here in the March of the Living is to fight against it, "said Dr. Shmuel Rosenman, chairman of the March of the Living, "We are here to say in a clear voice: 'Never again.' We are marching to remind the world of the horrors and to lead a global move to fight anti-Semitism."
Along with thousands of young people from around the world, dozens of Holocaust survivors will also attend the march to tell their stories. They will be joined by a special delegation headed by the US ambassador to Israel, David Friedmann, US Ambassador to Germany Richard Grenell, US ambassador to Poland Georgette Mosbacher, and US Special Envoy for Monitoring and Combating Anti-Semitism Elan Carr.
Greece will also send a distinguished delegation to the march, headed by Patriarch Bartholomew Patriarch Constantinople, the new Rome and the Ecumenical Patriarch, leader of tens of millions of Orthodox Christians around the world; And the Speaker of the Greek Parliament, Mr. Nicholas Watsis.
Also participating in the march will be Romanian Prime Minister Vasilica Viorica Dăncilă, Tel Acic Chief Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau, who has been marching since the first march in 1988. Jewish Agency Chairman Yitzhak Herzog will head the Jewish Agency delegation,
The March of the Living is an annual educational program that brings people from all over the world to Poland and Israel on a journey from Destruction to Revival. The purpose of the march is to instill in the younger generation the history of the Holocaust and to instill in it values of tolerance, acceptance of the other, volunteerism and mutual responsibility.
More than 250,000 participants, from 52 countries have marched on the 3 km railway from Auschwitz to Birkenau on Holocaust Memorial Day since the first march in 1988.
In the framework of the program, various youth delegations, Jews and non-Jews alike, visit the ghettos, monuments and death camps, culminating in a march between Auschwitz and Birkenau.
After that, the participants from the March of the Living will continue their journey from Poland for a week of study in Israel, where they take part in the Memorial Day ceremonies for the IDF Fallen Soldiers, the Jerusalem March, where 6,000 youth will march and Independence Day celebrations will take place.
3. ANTI-SEMITIC ATTACK ON BUENOS AIRES SYNAGOGUE
by Arutz Sheva Staff
Anti-Semitism again hits Argentina. A man broke into a synagogue during Shabbat evening services on Friday night and threatened worshipers in in Buenos Aires.
The attack took place at the Mikdash Yosef congregation in the Palermo neighborhood of Buenos Aires.
During the attack, the assailant threatened the worshipers with a sharp object and threw stones at the congregants and a security guard. He also threw oil on the floor, causing several worshipers fell on the synagogue's entrance floor. One of the guards prevented further violence by pepper spraying the attacker.
The attacker shouted anti-Semitic slogans and curses against the Jewish people during the attack. He was arrested when the police arrived.
Rabbi Uriel Husni, the leader of the congregation, told Vis a Vis that "I never thought that something like this could happen. We had terror here. Together with security we were able to stop it. We are asking for police protection for the door of the synagogue."
4. WATCH: NETANYAHU DOLL WITH CROWN PLACED IN TEL AVIV SQUARE
by Arutz Sheva Staff
📹 To watch the video: https://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/261485
A doll resembling Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with a crown on his head was placed Sunday morning at Habima Square in the center of Tel Aviv.
Inside the doll was a loudspeaker that was projecting Netanyahu's voice saying: "The Right-wing government is in danger" and "Leftist media."
Next to the Netanyahu doll was a charity box with the words "Thank you," apparently a response to Netanyahu's request to allow him to receive donations for his legal representation.
The sculpture was erected by two female students from Sderot who are studying animation at Sapir College, in order, they said, to let the public to "say goodbye" to Netanyahu.
"They call him 'Mr. Security' - but this feeling is fictitious," the two students, Yael Solomonovich and Paz Bernstein, told Channel 12 Sunday morning. "Like you have a teddy bear when you are a little kid, but he does not really help you. Makes sure to frighten and incite, and presents himself as the only thing that will protect us at night."
5. FIRST SUCCESSFUL MANEUVER AROUND THE MOON
by Yoni Kempinski
On Sunday morning at 04:36, the engineering team of SpaceIL and IAI, successfully performed the first maneuver around the moon.
During the maneuver, Beresheet's engines operated for about 271 seconds and the amount of fuel burned was approximately 55 kg.
In this maneuver, all the engines operated at the same time to slow the spacecraft with maximum thrust to date.
The maneuver, reduced the Apolune (farthest point from the moon) from 10,400 km to 750 km from the moon.
The Perilune (the closest point to the moon) is approximately 460 kilometers from the moon.
During the weekend "Beresheet" took more photos of the far side of the moon from 550 km from the moon and from 2500 km from the moon.

6. FINAL POLLS: RIGHT-RELIGIOUS BLOC 66, LEFT-ARAB BLOC 54
by David Rosenberg
A pair of new polls Friday show the right-wing – religious bloc maintaining a wide lead over the left-wing - Arab bloc ahead of next Tuesday's general election, even as the center-left Blue and White party continues to lead the Likud party.
With a ban on the publication of new polls slated to go into effect on Saturday, one of the final polls in the election cycle was released Friday by 103FM Radio, showing the combined right-wing – religious bloc with a total of 66 seats out of 120 if new elections were held today, compared to 54 for the left-wing – Arab bloc.

8. GANTZ: NETANYAHU ISN'T THE MESSIAH
by Hezki Baruch
Blue and White leader Benny Gantz on Saturday night met with residents of the central Israeli city of Rosh Ha'ayin.
"We created an alternative to the government which has not existed for the past ten years," Gantz said. "This is a historic hour and we have a historic opportunity. We're at a crossroads. We can go in the direction of hope, unity, and reconciliation, or we can choose a model of extremism which will get worse and worse."
"We've seen the intentions to allow [Otzma Yehudit candidate Itamar] Ben-Gvir and [National Untion MK Bezalel] Smotrich to appoint judges, pass the French Law, and lead [Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin] Netanyahu to a situation where he's in charge here. This is a democratic country, no one's in charge."
The "French Law" would prevent sitting prime ministers from being indicted.
"Netanyahu is not the messiah and he's not a legend that can't be replaced," Gantz emphasized. "We'll do it in a democratic fashion, not via incitement or slander. We'll fight against corruption in general, as well as specifically relating to security issues. This isn't acceptable. We'll put an end to it."
"We're going to win, but we want the victory to be big and by a large margin. Everyone who knows we're a meter away from victory needs to understand that it'll only end at the end of election day.
"I want to call on you to be our partners, and that means two things: Until April 9, you'll be active partners. After that, we'll be your partners. We're really here for you."
On Friday, one poll gave the Blue and White party a 4-seat lead over the Likud, while another poll had the two parties tied at 28 seats each. Both polls gave the right-religious bloc a majority over the center-left bloc.

One of our goals here in the March of the Living is to fight against it, "said Dr. Shmuel Rosenman, chairman of the March of the Living, "We are here to say in a clear voice: 'Never again.' 3.

2. HOW DO YOU FLY A SPACESHIP ON SHABBAT?
by Yoni Kempinski
It's Shabbat eve for the Beresheet lunar lander, Israel's first spacecraft, which is on track to land on the moon on April 11. How will the first Jewish spacecraft be operated on Shabbat without violating Jewish law?
Arutz Sheva interviewed staff members of Beresheet who are involved in the research, consultation and technology needed to minimize the violation of Shabbat while simultaneously ensuring the continued safety of the spacecraft
According to Beresheet system engineer, Ariel Gomez, the staff consulted their advisor on Jewish law, Rabbi Shraga Dahan, on how to operate the Beresheet on Shabbat. Furthermore, all their Shabbat procedures to maintain Beresheet have been approved by the chief rabbi of Israel.
"The head of staff of Beresheet is a Chabad chassid and avoiding the violation of Shabbat is very important to him," Gomez said. "The launch of Beresheet itself was pushed back to Thursday so it wouldn't take place on Shabbat. In fact, in our contract with the American company, there's a clause that the launch won't take place on Shabbat."
"The chief of staff wants to connect all sectors of the Jewish people. We see Beresheet's mission as a mission of the entire Jewish people and therefore it's very important to us that there won't be any procedures on Shabbat there were not approved by the chief rabbi. We used technological innovations designed for us by Machon Lev (Jerusalem College of Technology) and approved by the chief rabbi. Machon Lev provided us with keyboards and mice which can be operated through a Grama (an indirect action which involves a less serious violation of Shabbat). Additionally, we instructed the staff to do only what is strictly necessary to ensure the safety of Beresheet on Shabbat and no more."
Rabbi Shraga Dahan said that "working with the staff of Beresheet has been a wonderful experience. I feel as I'm dealing with heavenly matters in the double meaning of the word. When I see the Jewish people involved with the Beresheet, it fills me with meaning. We were able to successfully adjust the environment to suit the lifestyle of each staff member involved with Beresheet. We can truly be proud of the Jewish nation."
3. 'I WAS TARGETED FOR SUPPORTING ISRAEL, OPPOSING OBAMA'

An advisor to the 2016 Trump campaign who was arrested and convicted as part of the Mueller investigation into allegations of collusion with the Russian government says he was targeted by the investigation for his support for Israel, including his work challenging the Obama administration's Middle East policy.
George Papadopoulos, the 31-year-old consultant who worked as a policy advisor for President Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign, said in an interview with the One America News Network Wednesday that he came into the Mueller investigation's sights not because of any allegations of collusion with the Russian government, but rather because of his support for Israel.
"The targeting on me had to do with my ties to Israel, not to Russia," said Papadopoulos, who claimed that he had been targeted over his support for Israel, and opposition to the Obama administration's Middle East policies, even before the Mueller investigation was launched.
"I was working at the Hudson Institute in Washington D.C., where we were promoting an agenda, it was a conservative think tank at a time when the Obama administration was in power, we were promoting an agenda that was anathema to what the Obama administration wanted done, in terms of U.S. security and U.S. energy policy in that part of the world."
"There are many various U.S. State Department officials who are coming into my life to threaten me. Why are you working on these deals? Why are you at this conference? You shouldn't be advising the president or the candidate about your particular ideas…What are you up to in the Middle East? How do you have these contacts? And what are you advising the campaign about?"
While Papadopoulos ended up pleading guilty to making false statements to the FBI in 2017, resulting in a 14-day prison term and $9,500 fine, the former Trump campaign advisor says the Mueller investigation had sought to charge him with acting as an unregistered agent of a foreign country, citing his pro-Israel positions.
"They wanted to charge me for acting as an unregistered agent of Israel. I just happened to be an advisor to two presidential campaigns who had extremely high connections not only in Israel, but in that part of the world."
In March, Papadopoulos also denied having any contacts with Russian officials – despite allegations of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia being at the heart of the Mueller investigation.
"I never met a single Russian official in my entire life. Even on the Trump campaign. All the characters in my story that were described falsely by the FBI and Bob Mueller to be Russians were, in fact, Western intelligence operatives that were sent to try to sabotage the Trump campaign."
He said that the real reason he was targeted was for his connections with Israel.
"That's actually the key of my case. What I was really targeted for by the Mueller team and these individuals had nothing to do with Russia. It had to do with my work in Israel, my work as an energy lobbyist."
4. US CANCELS VISA OF INTERNATIONAL COURT'S CHIEF PROSECUTOR
by Arutz Sheva Staff
The United States has imposed a visa ban on Fatou Bensouda, chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) due to her investigations of alleged war crimes by Americans, Bensouda's office announced on Friday.
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo warned last month that the US would revoke entry visas for members of the Hague who investigate possible war crimes by US forces in Afghanistan.
"I am announcing a policy on those individuals directly responsible for any ICC investigations of US personnel," Pompeo said. "This includes persons who take or have taken action to request or further such an investigation."
Bensouda, an African-born Muslim from Gambia who had been the prosecutor since 2012 is the first member to be sanctioned by the US.
"We can confirm that the US authorities have revoked the Prosecutor's visa for entry into the US," Bensouda's office wrote in a statement. "It is our understanding that should not have an impact on the Prosecutor's travel to the US to meet her obligations to the UN, including regular briefings before the UN Security Council.
"The Office of the Prosecutor has an independent and impartial mandate under the Rome Statute of the ICC. The Prosecutor and her Office will continue to undertake that statutory duty with utmost commitment and professionalism, without fear or favor."
5. '1 MILLION PALESTINIANS TO SETTLE IN JORDAN UNDER TRUMP PLAN'
by David Rosenberg
A report released Friday morning claims that the soon-to-be released Middle East peace plan drawn up by the Trump administration – dubbed the "Deal of the Century" – includes large-scale resettlement of Palestinian Arabs in Jordan, the ceding of Jordanian territory to Israel, and the formation of a tripartite confederation between Jordan, the Palestinian Authority and Israel's Civil Administration to administer Judea and Samaria.
According to the report, published by the Beirut-based Al-Akhbar, sources in Jordan and Egypt say that the much-anticipated peace plan would include a broad regional agreement, with a number of Arab states taking an active role in the deal.
Jordan, for instance, will be asked to permanently settle one million Palestinian Arabs currently listed as refugees. Under the plan, according to the Al-Akhbar report, Jordan would first naturalize 300,000 Palestinian Arabs, including those already living in Jordan, which the report said number no more than 200,000.
Details regarding the present location of the remaining 800,000 were not provided in the report.
Similarly, Lebanon will be urged to grant citizenship to all Palestinian Arabs currently living in the country. The roughly 450,000 Palestinian Arabs in Lebanon have largely been denied citizenship by the Lebanese government, which has restricted their rights since their entry in 1948.
Aside from taking in Palestinian Arabs, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan will also be asked to cede to Israel two areas currently leased by the Jewish state.
Naharayim (Al-Baqoura), which straddles the border between northern Israel and northern Jordan, and Tzofar (Al-Ghamr), adjacent to the Arava district of Israel, were leased to Israel following the Israel-Jordan peace treaty in 1994.
Last year, however, Jordan's King Abdullah announced that he would not extend the least for another 25-year period, leaving Israeli farmers who use the sites uncertain of their future access to the areas.
According to Friday's report, both Naharayim and Tzofar would be ceded to Israel.
In exchange for Jordan's cooperation, the Hashemite Kingdom would be compensated to the tune of roughly $45 billion dollars in foreign grants and funding for various projects. In addition, Saudi Arabia would cede to Jordan territory along the Saudi-Jordanian border roughly equivalent in size to Naharayim and Tzofar.
Jordan would also be asked to form a tripartite confederation with the Palestinian Authority and Israeli Civil Administration in Judea and Samaria, the report claimed – a request Jordan has expressed concerns about.
Egypt would also play a major role in the peace deal, the report claimed, citing Egyptian sources which said American officials have floated the idea of opening up large swathes of the Sinai Peninsula near the Gaza Strip for the establishment of industrial zones for Gaza's burgeoning population.
While the territories in question would not be annexed to Gaza under the Trump plan, according to the report, Egypt would grant Gazan workers expanded access to portions of the northeastern Sinai.
In exchange – and as part of the effort to develop the industrial zones – Egypt would receive some $65 billion in foreign grants and payments for projects in northern Sinai.

Thirty-seven years after the Battle of Sultan Yaqub during the Lebanon War, the body of one of the MIA IDF soldiers has been returned to Israel.
A special team of the IDF headed by the head of the manpower division, Major General Moti Almoz, informed the Baumel family Wednesday that the body of their loved one, Sergeant Zachary Baumel, who has been missing since the battle of Sultan Yaqub in the summer of 1982, was found, brought to Israel and identified.
Sergeant Baumel was clearly identified at the Institute of Forensic Medicine at Abu Kabir, as well as by the Chief Military Rabbi, Brigadier General Eyal Krim.
The IDF Spokesperson stated that "the IDF is committed to continuing efforts to locate [other MIAs from the Battle of Sultan Yaqub] Sergeant Major Yehuda Katz, Sergeant Tzvika Feldman and all the missing IDF soldiers whose burial place is unknown. The Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Aviv Kochavi, IDF commanders and soldiers, embrace all the families, including families Baumel, Feldman and Katz in these complex moments."
Details of the funeral ceremony will also be given when decided.
Zachary Baumel immigrated with his parents to Israel from Brooklyn, New York in 1970, later joining a Hesder military unit combining combat service with yeshiva study.
He had nearly completed his service when he was called up to serve in the Lebanon War. On June 11, 1982, he was sent into battle with his comrades near the Lebanese village of Sultan Yaqub.
At least 20 Israelis were killed in the battle and 30 wounded, with 3 MIAs: Baumel and fellow soldiers Tzvi Feldman and Yehuda Katz, who are still missing.
After Zachary went missing, his parents, Miriam and Yonah, traveled the world seeking any information they could find about their son, eventually becoming an address for the parents of other MIAs seeking help in the search for their own children.
Zachary's father, Yonah, passed away 7 years ago. His mother is now in her eighties and lives close to his sister, Osnat.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu attended an official ceremony of the Russian Ministry of Defense on Thursday afternoon, during which the remaining items belonging to the late Zachary Baumel were handed over to the prime minister.
Among the objects delivered were Baumel's tank suit and military boots. The ceremony was attended by Chief of Staff of the Russian Army Valery Gerasimov.
Prime Minister Netanyahu thanked the Russian defense establishment. "Thank you very much, sir, thank you again to President Putin and the Defense Ministry of Russia. This exciting day and ceremony are another expression of the special connection between the Russian people and the Jewish people."
"We never forget the enormous sacrifice of the Russian people and the Red Army to save humanity and save the Jewish people from the Nazi monster. Hundreds of thousands of Jews fought valiantly in the service of the Red Army and many of them we know in Israel are still bearing medals, and many others helped establish the Israel Defense Forces," Netanyahu added.
"It is therefore heartwarming to see the partnership of values, respect for soldiers, brotherhood of soldiers, camaraderie of soldiers, and the important principle that no one is left behind," added the prime minister.
"I want to thank you, sir, on behalf of the people of Israel, on behalf of the soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces and on behalf of all the fathers and mothers of our soldiers," Netanyahu concluded.
During the ceremony, a mourning song was played by the Russian defense ministry band. At the end of the ceremony an Israeli flag placed on a coffin bearing the items was folded by the Guard of Honor and given to the prime minister.

Dr. Lara Kollab, who was fired from her residency at the Cleveland Clinic after old anti-Semitic tweets surfaced, was accepted to a residency program in California and then fired from it.
Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield, California, said in a statement dated Monday that it notified Kollab on March 15 that her position as a first-year internal medicine resident was withdrawn effective immediately.
"Dr. Kollab submitted information that was false, misleading, and incomplete to Kern Medical during the interview and match process," the statement said.
The statement continued: "Kern Medical is dedicated to the health and wellbeing of our patients and expects the highest level of integrity and compassion from our staff. We value that a key part of our mission is to teach and train our resident physicians to always provide exceptional care to all patients, regardless of race, religious background or social standing."
Kollab wrote scores of anti-Semitic social media posts between 2011 to 2017, which she said in an apology after they publicly resurfaced were written because she had "difficulty constructively expressing my intense feelings about what I witnessed in my ancestral land," following visits to Israel and the West Bank.
Among the posts that got the most attention was a tweet from 2012, when she was a medical student, which said: "hahha ewww.. ill purposely give all the yahood [Jews] the wrong meds…." Kollab graduated from the Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in New York, which calls itself "the largest private university in the U.S. with Jewish roots."
She worked for the Cleveland Clinic from July 2018 to September 2018. The Clinic said it fired her over the social media post that threatened Jewish patients.
The tweets resurfaced through the Canary Mission, a website that hosts dossiers on anti-Israel student activists, professors and organizations, focusing on North American universities.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said Thursday at the start of his meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that "as you know, it was our military personnel who located missing IDF soldier Zachary Baumel's grave in coordination with the Syrian army."
Netanyahu replied, "Two years ago, I turned to you with a personal request that you help us find the remains of the soldiers, including Zachary Baumel's, and you responded immediately."
"You have done outstanding work and even endangered Russian soldiers for this purpose. I want to thank you, in my name and that of the people of Israel, for what you did, and for the courageous friendship. it is important to us and our relationship," added Netanyahu.
Baumel had gone missing during the Battle of Sultan Yaqub in the 1982 Lebanon War. After 37 years, it was announced yesterday that his remains had been brought back to Israel.

2. NETANYAHU: CONQUERING GAZA 'STILL ON THE TABLE'
by Tal Polon
Prime Minister Netanyahu explained in an interview on Thursday morning with Kan why he has never given the order to defeat Hamas since the terror group took power in the Gaza Strip in 2007.
"We have done much in Gaza, but we haven't done one thing: We haven't conquered it, because then we would either have to hold onto it and take 2 million Palestinians under our control, or give it to someone else."
Netanyahu related that his efforts to achieve the latter scenario proved unsuccessful.
"I spoke with many Arab leaders about the possibility [of taking control of Gaza], but nobody volunteered and followed through with it.
"I hoped that someone would take it, but nobody wanted it," he explained. "So what we did since then was to strike them. After all, you can't enter diplomatic negotiations with someone who wants to destroy you."
Still, Netanyahu asserted that "All options, including entering and conquering Gaza, are on the table, in accordance with what is good for the state of Israel," noting that the IDF is now "encircling Gaza with great power."
He emphasized, however, that he won't embark on "unnecessary wars," and that he would only order a war in Gaza after all other options have been exhausted.
"I don't know if we will succeed in reaching long-term quiet, but I do know one thing: I do not embark on unnecessary wars. I exert the force that is needed, and I am willing to pay the price, but only when it is needed. Indeed, I am ready to pay the political price [for not going to war] when it is not needed."
"I want every mother and father to know that I don't send their children into war before we have exhausted all other options.
"It could be that we will be forced to embark on an extended military campaign in Gaza," he said. "The forces are in place, but that is the last option, not the first."
3. REPORT: 'DEAL OF THE CENTURY' TO BE PRESENTED ON MAY 15
by Yehonatan Gottlieb
The Arab website Al-Khaleej Online reported Thursday that US President Donald Trump is expected to present his "Deal of the Century" on May 15.
This date is also the date on which the Arabs in Israel mark the so-called "catastrophe" of the establishment of the state as "Palestinian Nakba Day." According to the report, Trump has completed all preparations for the deal, including approvals for funding from other Arab countries to ensure the economic side of the deal.
According to estimates, the Arab countries that will be partners in the deal are Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and even the United Arab Emirates.
A senior Hamas official said that "setting the date of the declaration on the anniversary of the Nakba is a slap in the face to all those who still see America as a fair mediator in resolving the conflict."
Arab commentators and officials warn their peoples that Trump's deal will be the "elimination of the Palestinian dream" and will include an Arab "concession" of territories for the benefit of the State of Israel.
As reported by Arutz Sheva, it is estimated that the deal includes land swaps between Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Egypt and economic aid to Palestinians by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
The deal also includes a plan to lay a pipeline from Saudi Arabia to the Gaza Strip and to build refineries in Gaza to add jobs for the residents and, in the future, even the construction of desalination plants.
According to a draft agreement that was revealed in the book "Kushner Inc," during the deal, Jordan will give land to the Palestinians, and in return it will receive territory from Saudi Arabia. Egypt will return to Saudi Arabia two islands in the Red Sea which the latter gave to Egyptian administration in 1950.

by Arutz Sheva Staff
A new poll published by Haaretz revealed that if the elections had been held today, the Likud would have defeated the Blue and White party by multiple seats.
According to the poll, which was conducted by pollster Camille Fuchs, if the elections were held today the Likud party would receive 30 mandates while the Blue and White party would receive 27 seats, three seats less.
The survey further showed that the Labour party would receive ten Knesset seats while the United Right and Hadash-Ta'al lists would receive seven seats each.
United Torah Judaism would receive six seats while the New Right, Kulanu, Shas, Zehut, and Meretz would receive five seats each.
Yisrael Beyteinu and the United Arab List-Balad would receive four seats each.
The poll showed the right-wing bloc strengthening to 67 seats while the leftist bloc receives only 53 Knesset seats. Under this scenario the right would still win the elections even if one of the smaller right-wing parties failed to clear the electoral threshold.
The Haaretz poll showed very different results compared to another poll conducted by the Panels Politics for Walla! which predicts that if the elections were held today, the right-wing bloc would get 62 seats in the next Knesset and the center-left bloc 58.
The poll shows a strengthening of the left-wing bloc compared to a poll conducted by the institute last week, in which the gap was more significant: 68 for the right-wing bloc and 52 for the center-left bloc.
According to the data, the Blue and White Party wins 30 seats and remains the leader in the race. Trailing by a small gap, the Likud Party receives 29 seats.

7. IRAN COMMITS 'MAJOR CYBER ASSAULT' ON UK INFRASTRUCTURE
by Mordechai Sones
Sky News reports Iran committed a wave of cyber attacks targeting key parts of Britain's national infrastructure in a major assault last December.
The report says private sector companies, including banks, were also compromised in what they describe as an "ongoing" campaign.
The National Cyber Security Centre said it was "aware of a cyber incident affecting some UK organisations in late 2018" and that it was "working with victims and advising on mitigation measures".
Analysis by cyber security experts cited by Sky concluded that a group connected to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard was responsible for this attack and an attack on the parliamentary network in 2017.
Sky says the mobile phone numbers of at least 10 peers and MPs were among the compromised data.

1. PUTIN: OUR SOLDIERS FOUND ZACHARY BAUMEL'S REMAINS
by Nitzan Keidar

1. POLL: LIKUD LEADS, LIBERMAN OUT
by Arutz Sheva Staff
A survey conducted by Prof. Camil Fuchs and published Tuesday evening on News 13 reveals that if the elections were held today, the Likud would win 29 seats, the most of any political party.
The Blue and White party would finish a close second with 28 seats while the Labor party would be a distant third with 14 seats.
The United Right would win seven seats. Hadal-Talash, United Torah Judaism, and Zehut would receive six seats each.
The New Right, Shas, Joint Arab List-Balad, and Meretz parties would win five seats each, while Kulanu would just pass the electoral threshold with four seats.
According to the poll, the Yisrael Beiteinu party led by Avigdor Liberman would not receive enough votes to clear the electoral threshold and would not have any representatives in the next Knesset.
In addition, 46% of respondents said that Binyamin Netanyahu is most suited to be prime minister, while only 38% said that Benny Gantz is most suited for the position.
2. THE RIGHT COULD LOSE POWER, WARNS EX-MINISTER AHEAD OF ELECTIONS
by Arutz Sheva Staff
Former Education Minister Gideon Saar (Likud) warned that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and the ruling Likud party face a difficult election next week, hinting that the center-left Blue and White party could win the premiership if the Likud's base fails to turnout in high enough numbers.
Speaking at a conference hosted by Maariv Wednesday, Saar said that the Likud's return to power in 2009, following a term headed by a Kadima-led government, had led to a dramatic strengthening of Israel's economy, security, and geo-political prestige and influence. That progress, Saar warned, would be in jeopardy should the Likud lose power after next week's election.
"Recently, Israel has enjoyed a wide-range of positive political developments, relating to the close ties between Trump and Netanyahu."
"With all of the challenges over the past decade, we've experienced the quietest decade since the establishment of the state. Economically, there have been improvements by every measure and index. That's the reality. The question now facing Israeli citizens is whether to continue forward, on the path that strengthens Israel, or to go backwards to the bankrupt approaches of the past."
"We are now facing a period of major challenges – and also opportunities. The opportunities are related to our strengthening political position, and our relationship with Washington. The question is who knows how to face our challenges and solve them. A right-wing government led by Netanyahu, or a left-wing one led by Lapid and Gantz? A team of our best and most experienced, or a hodge-podge group [of candidates] with no connection to each other?
While polls show the Likud rising relative to the Blue and White party, cutting the Blue and White's average lead from five seats in early March to a single seat, Saar warned that the Likud could be denied the premiership if its base fails to turnout in full.
"If there isn't a large vote for the Likud, the question of whether we will be given the opportunity to form the next government will be left with a big question mark."

An 18-year-old Israeli woman from Tel Aviv who hurled a tomato at Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu during a tour of a Tel Aviv market Tuesday was detained by police for questioning Wednesday morning.
On Tuesday, the Prime Minister visited the Hatikva Market in Tel Aviv, to rally supporters ahead of next Tuesday's general election.
As Netanyahu toured the marketplace, a young woman hurled a tomato at the premier, in an incident which was captured on camera.
After police identified the young woman responsible, officers detained her for questioning Wednesday, before releasing her, with restrictive conditions.
Blue and White chief Benny Gantz condemned the incident Tuesday, saying Israel "needs unity, not violence."
4. BENNETT: EVERY VOTE FOR FEIGLIN BRINGS THE BULLDOZER CLOSER
by Arutz Sheva Staff
Education Minister Naftali Bennett, who also chairs the New Right party, attacked Zehut leader Moshe Feiglin at the Jerusalem Post's 2019 election conference.
"I call upon most of the Feiglin voters, the young people of religious Zionism: There are six or eight behind Feiglin, form both Left and Right," Bennett said, adding that Feiglin is "like Raful [Rafael Eitan], who put in people like Gonen Segev and destroyed our home."
"Every vote for Feiglin brings the bulldozer closer to your home. It will be a vote you regret casting.
"Now a new generation has sprung up who didn't know the old Feiglin - but it's the same old Bess in a new dress."
Bennett also promised that if he serves as Defense Minister, he will bring quiet to southern Israel.
"People think that there is nothing to be done about Hamas," he explained. "Generations of defense ministers and generals with 117 and 217 years of experience have been explaining to us that there is no solution."
"The first thing I will do as defense minister will be to restore quiet to the south. It will take a few months but we know how to do it. In a very sophisticated air operation, we will not bring in soldiers if there is no need. I promise that we will restore security to the residents of the south for decades to come. This is not a decree of fate, whatever we are told."
5. BRITAIN CONDEMNS TRUMP'S GOLAN RECOGNITION
by Elad Benari
Britain's Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt on Tuesday condemned US President Donald Trump's recognition of the Golan Heights as sovereign Israeli territory, the Jewish News reports.
Answering questions in the House of Commons on Tuesday morning, Hunt did not shy in criticizing the Trump White House for breaking the international consensus for not recognizing sovereignty over land seized during war.
Hunt made British policy clear in response to a question from Conservative grandee Sir Nicholas Soames, who said it was "a matter of the greatest regret that our allies, the United States, are in clear contravention of UN Resolution 497."
Soames said Trump's recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the Golan was illegal because "annexation of territory is prohibited under international law" and asked Hunt to "condemn unreservedly this breach of the rules-based order."
Hunt said he was "absolutely happy to do that," adding, "We should never recognize the annexation of territory by force… that has been one of the great achievements since the founding of the United Nations."
The foreign secretary added that he condemned Trump's actions "with a heavy heart" because Israel was also "an ally and a shining example of democracy in a part of the world where that is not common… We want Israel is to be a success and we consider them to be a great friend but on this we do not agree."
Trump last week signed a proclamation recognizing Israeli sovereignty of the Golan Heights which was liberated by Israel from Syria during the 1967 Six Day War. Israel annexed the Golan Heights in 1981, in a move that has never been recognized by the international community.
As expected, the move was met with condemnation from the Arab world, with Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar and Kuwait all saying that the Golan Heights is "occupied Arab land".
Iran, which is the regional rival of all these states, joined in on the criticism as well.
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani accused Trump of "colonialism" in the wake of the Golan move, saying, "Nobody could have believed that a man would come in America and unilaterally and against all international laws and regulations give away a land belonging to one country to an aggressor."
Syria accused Trump of "blatantly attacking" its sovereignty with the decision and also vowed to recover the Golan Heights in the wake of Trump's declaration.
The criticism was not limited to the Arab world, as the European Union blasted the move as well and said it regarded the Golan Heights as "occupied territory".

7. HISTORIC ACHIEVEMENT: UN CONDEMNS ANTI-SEMITISM
by Arutz Sheva Staff
The UN General Assembly convened a special session on Tuesday to adopt a resolution condemning hate crimes.
In its original version, the proposal only referred to Islamophobia, but after a diplomatic effort led by Israel's ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, with many UN states, the proposal was changed and condemned anti-Semitism as well.
Danon said, "It seems that the memory of history is fading over time, but the diplomatic effort that we have led has shown that we will not allow the international community to remain silent while a wave of anti-Semitism spreads throughout the world."
"Unfortunately, we return to the days when kippot and Stars of David are targets, including marked Jewish businesses and desecrated synagogues," added Danon.
"This is an Israeli achievement at the UN and a crushing loss to the forces of hatred. However, it is very unfortunate that we should have fought to include anti-Semitism in the draft resolution. I remind the world that denying the right to self-determination of the Jewish people in its land and being anti-Israel is no different from being anti-Semitic. "
"The time has come for the world to channel its power to act uncompromisingly against hatred and anti-Semitism and to stop ignoring the forces, both inside and outside the corridors of the United Nations, who seek to harm these efforts," concluded Ambassador Danon.

Jewish Home Chairman Rabbi Rafi Peretz, who leads the United Right party's joint list, responded Wednesday morning to the attempted stabbing attack in Samaria.
In the attack, a terrorist attempted to stab a young girl However, the girl's father, who was driving her to school at the time of the attempted attack, shot the would-be terrorist, neutralizing him.
No injuries were reported among Israeli civilians or security personnel.
"The terror attack and attempted murder of a Jewish family this morning in Samaria is the direct result of Israel's policy of accepting ongoing terror," Rabbi Peretz said.
"The father's immediate response...saved lives and sends a clear message: We're here to stay. Anyone who tries to murder Jews is a dead man. It's time to move from acceptance to attack, from avoidance to sovereignty."

by Mordechai Sones
Channel 13 News' Barak Ravid reports that following US intelligence, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo warned Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri during his visit to Beirut ten days ago that Hezbollah and Iran have secretly set up a new factory to produce precision rockets on Lebanese soil.
Two weeks ago, Pompeo visited Israel and met twice with Prime Minister Netanyahu. An American source said that during his visit, Netanyahu presented information to Pompeo indicating that Iran and Hezbollah secretly established a new factory for manufacture of precision rockets in Lebanon, the existence of which was not known until recently.
In September, Netanyahu revealed in his speech at the UN General Assembly the existence of two precision missile manufacturing plants in Lebanon and following the speech, Hezbollah shut down the factories.
After his visit to Israel, Pompeo traveled to Beirut. The American source said the US Secretary of State met with Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri and conveyed a strong message about the new missile plant. Pompeo warned Hariri the missile plant could have implications for Lebanon's security.
"Pompeo made clear to senior officials in Beirut that Hezbollah is doing something inside Lebanon, and the danger of escalation against Israel as a result of this is real," the source said. "We made sure all the information we have in this context (of the missile factory) is also in the hands of the Lebanese government."
The US State Department commented: "We do not give details about the contents of quiet diplomatic contacts."
2. KINNERET RISES ADDITIONAL 10 CENTIMETERS
by Arutz Sheva Staff
The Kinneret's (Sea of Galilee) rose 10 centimeters (approximately about four inches) since Monday, the Water Authority noted.
The rise, similar to the one reported Monday, brings the Kinneret to 21 centimeters more than it was at the end of last week.
Since the beginning of the rainy season, the lake has risen by 2.8 meters. Now standing at 1.14 meters above the lower red line, the Kinneret would have to rise another 3.06 meters to be full.
Local rainfall is expected to continue in northern Israel on Tuesday, lessening in the afternoon. Temperatures will remain lower than seasonal average.
Wednesday will be partly cloudy, and temperatures will rise but remain lower than seasonal average. During the night, light local rains will fall across the country.
Thursday will be partly cloudy, and northern Israel will see light local rains during the morning hours. Temperatures will rise to seasonal average.
Friday will be partly cloudy with a drop in temperatures.
3. FORCE-FEEDING OF TERRORISTS ON HUNGER STRIKE?
by Yehonatan Gottlieb
The Israel Prison Service and the Ministry of Public Security are preparing for a hunger strike of terrorists imprisoned in Israel.
Orientalist Yoni Ben Menachem reported on his Twitter account that doctors in the reserves will be recruited to man the force-feeding facilities if the hunger strike is indeed launched on Sunday.
The security prisoners intend not to drink or eat in order to collapse quickly and thus to exert pressure on Israel.
A senior member of the "Palestinian Prisoners' Club" in Ramallah said that the initiative was that of the leadership of Hamas prisoners in Israel, whom dozens of Fatah prisoners and former Tanzim secretary-general Marwan Barghouti, who is serving five life sentences, are expected to join.
The strike is part of the efforts of the imprisoned terrorists against the intention of the Israel Prison Service to prevent them from receiving cell phone reception in the prison cells.
The Prisons Service informed some of the organizing prisoners that they may be deprived of their rights under the law following the strike.
4. SENIOR HAMAS OFFICIAL DENIES REPORTS OF PRISONER SWAP
by Arutz Sheva Staff
A senior Hamas official on Tuesday denied reports that the ceasefire deal expected to go into effect in the coming days includes a section on prisoner swaps, the the Israel Public Broadcasting Corporation reported.
Denying the report, senior Hamas official Moussa Dudin, who is responsible for the prisoners' portfolio in the terror organization, emphasized: "These are rumors intended to calm the prisoners' spirits in the prisons and their unity."
Earlier on Tuesday, Hamas' Al-Quds TV channel reported that the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas will include a section on prisoner swaps.
Previous reports regarding the ceasefire claimed that it would ease the restrictions on the fishing area and gradually open the Gaza crossings to allow additional goods through, as well as allow the Qatari money into Gaza.
Israel has already begun implementing the deal, but a balloon attached to an explosive device landed Monday in Sderot, and another explosive balloon failed to cross the border before exploding within Gaza.
5. US STOPS DELIVERY OF F-35S TO TURKEY
by Elad Benari
US officials said on Monday that Washington has stopped delivery of F-35 fighter jet parts to Turkey in response to Ankara's decision to move ahead with the purchase of a Russian surface-to-air missile system, The Associated Press reported.
The officials spoke anonymously to discuss the decision before it was announced.
Ankara's push to buy the systems from Moscow has caused tensions with the US, its NATO ally.
Military experts are concerned that the deployment of S-400s would put the security of allied weapon systems, particularly F-35 aircraft and radar facilities, in danger.
The US believes the S-400 sale is part of Russian efforts to disrupt the alliance amid Western concern over Erdogan's burgeoning relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The US has been warning Turkey for months that buying the Russian S-400 system would jeopardize its planned purchase of the advanced fighter aircraft. The halt in the delivery of parts and manuals is the first step toward ending the actual aircraft sale.
A top US general said last month he would recommend that the United States withhold delivery of F-35 fighter jets to Turkey if Ankara goes through with the purchase of the Russian S-400 air defense system.
Monday's move comes just days after Turkey's foreign minister said his country was committed to a deal to buy the Russian system and was discussing delivery dates.
In January, Turkey rejected a US offer to cancel its purchase of S-400 missiles from Russia. This came after a spokesman for President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made clear that Turkey's purchase of US missiles will not affect its deal to acquire rival S-400 missiles from Russia.
Erdogan insisted last month that Turkey's deal to buy Russian S-400 missile defense systems had "nothing to do" with the security of the US.
6. DE BLASIO DEMANDS APOLOGY FOR 'THERE IS NO PALESTINE' STATEMENT
by Sara Rubenstein
Jewish New York City Councilman Kalman Yeger became the subject of controversy last week when he denied the existence of Palestine and called congresswoman Ilhan Omar an antisemite. Palestinian activist Linda Sarsour then attacked Yeger by calling his statement "this kind of hate" and "bigoted."
New York Mayor Bill de Blasio joined in the fray on Friday by giving Yeger an ultimatum to apologize or be removed from the City Council committee on immigrant issues.
"If you're asking my personal opinion, yeah, I think someone who has the ability to say that about Palestinian people by definition should not be on the Immigration Committee," the mayor said on WNYC radio, according to the New York Post.

"Now, if he comes out and he apologizes, and says, 'Look, I was wrong and I realize what I did was hurtful and I've got to change,' different discussion. But if he's not going to apologize, he shouldn't be on that committee," de Blasio said.
As of last week, Councilman Yeger, who represents Brooklyn, was not apologetic. "There is no state by that name; there is no place by that name. That's a fact. I did not make it up,"
According to the Post, Yeger doesn't care whether he remains on the committee. "Whatever the speaker wants to do is fine by me…," he said. "I didn't ask to serve on the Immigration Committee. If he wants me there, I will be there. If he doesn't want me there, then that's the speaker's choice."
However, Yeger admitted that it may not have been judicious of him to publicly deny Palestine. "Did it need to be said on Twitter?" he said. "Probably not,… but it doesn't make it untruthful."
7. 'IT'S NOT ANTI-SEMITIC TO HATE THE JEWS OF ISRAEL'
by Sara Rubenstein
Ken Livingstone, the former mayor of London, already notorious for his past anti-Zionist statements, said at a meeting last week, "It's not antisemitic to hate the Jews of Israel."
"You can't have a proper functioning democracy in a world in which the media, whether it's the press or internet, can just spread lie after lie after lie," he added. Livingstone's comments were first reported in the United Kingdom's Daily Mail newspaper.
Livingstone, who quit Labour last year following a two year suspension for his comment that Hitler supported Zionism was speaking at a meeting of "Labour Against The Witchhunt." The "Labour Against The Witchhunt" group says that criticism of anti-Semitism within Labour is a "witchhunt" designed to push Corbyn out of power.
Livingstone also blamed accusations of anti-Semitism in Labour on 'ghastly old Blairites... doing everything possible to get rid' of Corbyn."
"Blairites" is a reference to former allies of former prime minister Tony Blair - Labour members who were not part of the party's hard left and would have spoken about against anti-Semitism in the party.
Livingstone served as London's mayor from 2002 until 2008 and prior to that was a Member of Parliament (MP) for Brent East from 1987 to 2001.

Arutz Sheva contributor Joe Fraeger spoke to Chaim Silberstein, the grandfather of the baby who was murdered in a terrorist attack in Samaria in December, at the National Council of Young Israel Gala in New York City Sunday night.
Silberstein called on Prime Minister Netanyahu to ensure that the houses of both of the terrorists who shot his pregnant daughter and son-in-law be demolished.
"The house of one of the terrorists has not been destroyed. There were two terrorists, one that shot my daughter and the other that drove the car. The one that drove the car was eliminated a few days later. But we've been carrying on a public campaign for the army to destroy his house, which is the minimum deterrence that should be done. And just a few days ago we finally got the general of the Central Command to issue a destruction order against his house," he said.
"Amazingly enough there are over 30 accomplices who helped him - and also the terrorist from Barkan, 60 accomplices - who helped them, gave them arms, gave them food, gave them shelter. These people's homes should also e destroyed. So there's a lot that can be done even before the next elections," he added.
Silberstein also called on the government to expel the families of terrorists and renew the policy of targeted assassinations of terrorist leaders.
"The new government needs to take actions which will send clear messages to our enemies that we are sovereign here and we are strong and we will be victorious against them.
"Annex at least Area C in Judea and Samaria. Increase our deterrence in a way that they'll feel it very, very deeply. But begin with the small steps. like the destruction of houses, like the expelling of families and targeted assassinations, that people will see that we mean business."
Thousands saluted the "Young Israel" network of synagogues at the National Council of Young Israel Gala in New York City, including Mike Huckabee, Rudy Giuliani, Congressman Kevin McCarthy, the Moskowitz family, Oded Revivi, Tommy Hicks and others.
