1. PARENTS AND CHILD KILLED IN CAR ACCIDENT NEAR THE DEAD SEA

A couple, a man in his 30s and a woman in her 20s, and their baby son were killed Thursday morning in a serious car accident between a bus and a private car on Route 90 near the Neot Hakikar junction at the southern part of the Dead Sea.
MDA personnel who were called to the scene of the accident were forced to confirm the deaths of the three at the scene. Suspicions that the collision was the result of a flat tire on the bus are being investigated. "The wheel exploded, the bus veered off the path, and then the collision happened," said one of the bus passengers.
Fourteen of the passengers on the bus involved in the accident were also injured. Their is light and they were treated by MDA teams and evacuated to Soroka hospital in Be'er Sheva by helicopter and ambulance.
Road 90 was blocked to traffic from the Arava junction to the Zohar junction in both directions following the accident. Police are asking the drivers to use alternative routes.
MDA medic Maor Leav described the scene. "When we arrived at the scene, it was shocking. We saw a bus standing by the side of the road with the passengers standing beside it. Nearby, in a ditch by the side of the road, we saw a private car upside down, smashed and crushed. Outside the car there was a baby of about a year in critical condition. Two MDA medics who had been passing by and were called to the scene through the MDA app began performing CPR."
"A young woman in her 20s lay outside the car and a man in his 30s suffering multi-systemic injuries was trapped in the driver's seat. The man and woman lacked a pulse and were not breathing and, after medical checks, we had to confirm their deaths at the scene. The baby of about 1 was transferred to an intensive care ambulance and, after CPR, we were forced to confirm his death."
MDA paramedic Itai Orion added, "The baby of about 1 year was unconscious, without a pulse and not breathing, with multi-systemic injuries. With the aid of a doctor who rushed to the scene we performed sustained CPR but his condition was critical, and we were forced to confirm his death at the scene after several long minutes. This was a very serious accident. The bus passengers were at the scene all the time and there was a commotion."
Senior MDA medic Sarah Yisraeli said, "When we got to the scene of the accident we saw about 50 passengers outside the bus, all of them were fully conscious and walked around. I did a scan of the bus and began sorting out the passengers who complained. 13 passengers suffered minor injuries and signs of anxiety. We gave them first aid and we helped them. We drove the driver, a man of about 50, to the MDA helicopter that landed nearby and the other passengers we took to the ambulances and evacuated them to Soroka Hospital, all of them in light condition."
2. LOUIS FARRAKHAN: JEWS ARE TERMITES

Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan posted a video segment to his Twitter account on Tuesday in which he tells his followers that he is not an anti-Semite but, rather, "anti-termite."

Twitter said in response on Wednesday that it would not be suspending Farrakhan's account in the meantime, noting that its policy barring "dehumanizing" language, which was announced in late September, has not yet gone into effect.
Therefore, the company established, "Louis Farrakhan's tweet comparing Jews to termites is not in violation of the company's policies."
Chelsea Clinton, the daughter of Bill and Hillary Clinton, responded to Farrakhan's words by tweeting, "Comparing Jews to termites is anti-Semitic, wrong and dangerous. The responsive laughter makes my skin crawl."
"For everyone who rightly condemned President Trump's rhetoric when he spoke about immigrants 'infesting our country,' this rhetoric should be equally unacceptable to you," she added.

3. WOMAN LAID TO REST AFTER BEING MISSING SIX MONTHS

In Ashdod, the late Tarak Tayik was buried on Tuesday, about a month after being spotted by special search and rescue forces of the Israel Dog Unit (IDU) about six months after it became known she was missing.
On her last journey, Tayik was escorted by hundreds of people, mostly members of the Ethiopian community. Her family and dignitaries made eulogies and stories of her life as a devoted and righteous mother.
In the months of her absence, the IDU conducted extensive searches with ZAKA, Israel Police, and other bodies.
About a month ago, her body was found by a pair of IDU members, Meshulam Sones and Aryeh Yavin, who note that the burial place of the late Tayik at the edge of the Ashdod cemetery is located only 200 meters away from the spot where she was located under a tree near the cemetery. The searchers estimate that she went to rest under the tree, became dehydrated, and died after an unclear period of time.
"Any search is a puzzle, a mystery, a crossword puzzle that requires a game of assembly," says Israel Dog Unit Commander Yekutiel ben Yaakov, stressing that "searching for a missing person isn't a game but a race against the clock, especially in the first few days. After that, even if we can't save the missing person, the search will continue as long as necessary to bring the missing person to Jewish burial, as long as bones can be found to bring a certain closure to the family and partially heal the open wounds of doubt."

To achieve quick and effective results, search teams and commanders must act quickly and professionally to solve the crossword puzzle by mapping the relevant field cells. This is done while taking into consideration the missing person's profile, the trigger that caused the absence, and the missing person's history and physical condition, while analyzing the topography of the region, the climate, along with the IDU's tools and resources.
"In the case of the late Tarak Tayik, as in many other cases, the incident took place with information provided to our headquarters about testimonies and cameras that documented her walking in the city's different neighborhoods. The general direction was northward, near the cemetery. IDU command had to examine and weigh the reliability of the evidence and decide which areas and orchards to survey first. We acted on the assumption that she left the urban area and that's why the flow of information about her movements stopped coming at some point.
In addition, the IDU said a considerable problem facing the forces was the size of the areas they had to scan, which stretched over many kilometers to the Lachish River that surrounds Ashdod. "The prevailing opinion in the family and the police was that she left Ashdod or that she was trying to distance herself from the area," she said, adding that "Indeed, evidence was found that she was supposedly observed in various cities that later turned out to be wrong."

4. TWO JAFFA RESIDENTS ACCUSED OF TRYING TO JOIN FIGHTERS IN SYRIA

An indictment was filed at the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court today against two Arab Jaffa residents, Abd al-Malik Asfur and Adam Abu Shehadeh, for attempting to illegally leave Israel to join the jihad arena in Syria.
According to the indictment, Asfur has in recent years been increasingly interested in the ISIS Islamic State and Jabhat al-Nusra organizations and their activities, while developing ideological identification with terror organization values.
At the end of 2015, Asfur decided to go to the war zone of the Syrian organizations, and at the beginning of 2016 contacted a person connected to these organizations via the Twitter social network.
The same person referred Asfur to the Telegram network where he could use secret chat to contact a Syrian agent to help him enter Syrian territory. Asfur suggested that Abu Shehadeh join him, and the latter agreed.
As a result, the two decided to leave Israel and enter Syria via Turkey to join ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra, or Ahrar A-Sham forces, to participate in their activities, and to assist in fighting the Syrian regime.
Upon arriving in Istanbul, the defendants waited to hear from the Syrian source who ordered them to wait a day or two for instructions, but when he did not contact them, the defendants understood connection with him had been broken and they returned to Israel.
5. GAZA ENVELOPE TO RESUME NORMAL ROUTINE

The Home Front Command on Thursday morning lifted the restrictions that were imposed on the Gaza envelope. The decision was made following an assessment of the situation.
The restrictions were announced on Wednesday morning after a Gaza rocket landed in a residential building in Be'er Sheva. As part of the restrictions, schools were closed and public events were limited to 300 people in an open area and 500 people in a closed area.
Earlier, the meeting of the Political-Security cabinet, in which the ministers discussed the latest escalation in the south, concluded after about five and a half hours.
The Cabinet meeting was supposed to take place on Wednesday morning, but was postponed to the evening hours to allow for the participation of IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eizenkot, who cut short his visit to New York following the latest developments.
6. 'WE LOST EVERYTHING'

Hours after a powerful rocket fired from the Gaza Strip into Israel struck a private home in the southern city of Beer Sheva, the now homeless family which resided in the now destroyed house is calling on the public to help them rebuild their lives.
"I don't have a home," said Miri Tamano, the mother of three whose home was destroyed when a rocket fired from the Gaza Strip overnight landed in her yard. "I have three kids, each of them means the world to me."
Tamano said her family was left without even the bare essentials, and would need help from the public.
"In particular, [we need] the bare essentials, so that we can get on our feet. Everything has been lost."
The family will be staying in a hotel while repairs are made to the house.
Tamano and her three children were treated for shock after the rocket landed next to their house, but were saved from far more serious injury by the fact that Tamano had rushed the family into a specially fortified shelter room.
The rocket was fired overnight by terrorists operating in the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip.
The IDF attributed the rocket attack to the Hamas terror organization, a claim denied by Hamas leaders.
Hours after the attack, Israeli fighter jets attacked 20 terrorist positions across the Gaza Strip, killing at least one terrorist.
7. TRUMP PLAN INCLUDES UNIFICATION OF JUDEA, SAMARIA WITH GAZA

The Trump administration's 'Deal of the Century' to promote a final status agreement between Israel and the Palestinian Authority includes plans to reunite the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip with the Palestinian Authority, a senior White House official said Tuesday.
While details of President Trump's 'Deal of the Century' to achieve a lasting peace in the Middle East have yet to be released, White House special envoy Jason Greenblatt revealed in an interview with Yediot Ahronot Tuesday that the plan includes a provision for Palestinian Arab unity.
"Let's be clear about something: Gaza and the West Bank have been separated for 10 years, not only physically, but politically—between the Palestinian Authority and Hamas. It's absurd to deny that reality," Greenblatt said Tuesday.
"In contrast, our peace plan intends to bring them together. Make no mistake; we are in this to help all Palestinians, in both the West Bank and Gaza. The type of disinformation being spread by some parties who have not even seen the plan yet wish to be spoilers does nothing to benefit ordinary Palestinian lives."
Greenblatt did not reveal further details of the White House peace plan, which has yet to be finalized, but implored all parties involved to withhold judgment until the specifics of the plan are released.
"Once our plan is released, all parties should read it and judge it by its merits. The PLO should be a positive force to change people's lives for the better, and not try to sway people before they have even seen our plan," Greenblatt added.
Former Israeli Ambassador to the US Michael Oren (Kulanu), who now serves as Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Office, said the White House's plans to bring together the Gaza Strip and Palestinian Authority testified to the governments seriousness in pursuing a final status agreement.
"Greenblatt's statement regarding the connection between Gaza and Judea and Samaria proves that the government is very serious about its intentions to reach an agreement, on the basis of an uncompromising obligation to the security of Israel and all of its citizens – including [Israeli] citizens in Judea and Samaria."
While the Gaza Strip was included as part of the Palestinian Authority under the terms of the Oslo Accords, the coastal enclave has been ruled by the Hamas terror organization, following its takeover of Gaza in 2007.
Despite reconciliation talks between Hamas and the Palestinian Authority, culminating in the signing of a full reconciliation deal in 2017, Gaza has remained under de facto Hamas control, leading the Palestinian Authority to withhold payments to the Strip, including purchases of electricity from Israel.
8. BET EL ANNOUNCES GUEST SPEAKER AND HONOREES AT WINTER GALA

The 36th Annual Bet El Institutions Gala Dinner will be held this year at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in Manhattan, NY on Sunday, December 2 at 6pm. The dinner, headed by President and Chairman of the Board of Bet El Institutions Eugen Gluck, has announced the following honorees:
Thomas and Debbie Herman from Lawrence, NY for the Shomer Eretz Yisrael Award, Daniel and Razie Benedict from Kew Gardens, NY for the Builder of Eretz Yisrael Award, and Yair and Chana Leah Matan from Kew Gardens Hills, NY for the Keter Torah Award. Additionally, the dinner will host guest speaker MK Yuli Edelstein, Speaker of Knesset.
Bet El Institutions consists of several organizations, including the Bet El Yeshiva Center (350 students, including 100 married students), the Bnei Tzvi Boys Yeshiva High School (220 students), the Jeanie Gluck Girls High School Academy (380 students), Arutz Sheva Israel National News (Israel's 3rd largest English online news site), and the Gluck IDF Preparatory Academy (130 students).
To supply the demand for additional students, Bet El is building dormitories for several of their institutions. But the largest project underway is the construction of a new campus for the Gluck IDF Preparatory Academy, a $16 million undertaking which includes two buildings totaling 60,000 sq. ft.
Chairman of the Board Eugen Gluck presides over what has grown to be the largest Zionist dinner on the east coast. Executive Vice President Sheila and Sholom Simanowitz are preparing for over 1,000 attendees. Mrs. Jeanie Gluck of blessed memory, who passed away in May of this year, will be remembered at the dinner. In attendance will be her three children Sidney Gluck, Rosie Friedman and Barbara Weichselbaum who continue the leadership of their father Eugen and late mother.
Mr. Gluck sums up the Institutions' work and accomplishments as follows: "Bet El Institutions truly exemplifies the unity of Israel: the Torah, the Land, and the People. 2. 'NEVER WAS AND NEVER WILL BE ONE LIKE HIM'

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu attended the funeral of his attorney and friend Dr. Yaakov Weinroth tonight, and eulogized him in the Netanya cemetery where he was laid to rest.
"This morning we received the bitter news, our beloved friend Yaakov, our friend for 20 years, one of the greatest judges of the Jewish People, who died during the night. Sara and I are shocked and grieved. Many of the Israeli public feel a great man has left us, a jurist who in some ways there never was and never will be one like him," said Netanyahu.
"We'd sit in his office and he'd bring some children and some grandchildren, proudly show me them, redheads, little Weinroths, so proud of them. You also saw their pride in him," said Netanyahu.
"The Weinroth family went through so much grief in one year, one thing after another. The cursed disease overcame the daughter-in-law, the brother, the brother-in-law, and we came to comfort Yaakov and I thought what he was thinking - he had the same disease. With his huge heart, he knew what I was thinking. This cursed disease has now taken him away from us. We embrace the family and take them into our hearts."

The son, Rabbi Yechiel Weinroth, eulogized his father earlier, "Forgive me, dear father, and may all those gathered here forgive me that the obituary will be short. I find it difficult to find the words that can contain the scope of the personage, the meaning, the images that pass before me in no order.
"The role of everyone in the world is to strive to achieve high aspirations, to strive for the highest. On the other hand, don't forget to see the other, the sharing. Combine these two. This is the description most suitable for you, Father. When it all started you said a few times that you're not so afraid of death itself. You were afraid the disease would take away your humanity. I want to tell you that not only did it not take human dignity from you, it multiplied it a lot more. We've all been privileged to see a model of sensitivity to others is in the most difficult situations."
Tel Aviv-Jaffa Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau eulogized: "Many years ago, a 17-year-old boy entered the home of my father-in-law, Rabbi Yitzchak Frankel zt"l, in the Florentine neighborhood. He came as a young man in Ponevezh to be examined on Shulchan Aruch to receive rabbinical ordination. Rabbi Frenkel would sit with such young men for half-hour or an hour.
"They sat in the library for three hours. After that the young man came out and my mother-in-law the Rebbetzin asked the rabbi, 'Yitzhak, what was it that you spent so long with this young man?' He told her, 'Mark my words: From this room a true genius emerged.'
"Everyone knows about Yaakov Weinroth, the great lawyer, but not many people know about the chavruta learning with the head of the Ponevezh yeshiva, and they don't know about Yaakov Weinroth as a secret provider to institutions and organizations. It's hard to know what precedes what: The brilliant mind that had no match or the mighty heart that was compassionate and merciful. Weinroth was a righteous man and a great man."

3. DEFENSE MINISTER REPRIMANDED FOR CALLING ARAB MK A TERRORIST

Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman (Yisrael Beytenu) on Wednesday was reprimanded by the Knesset's Ethics Committee for calling MK Hanin Zoabi (Joint Arab List) a 'terrorist."
The reprimand comes after Zoabi complained about a June tweet in which Liberman wrote, "Terrorist Hanin Zoabi is in the Knesset and advancing terror against IDF soldiers and Israeli citizens, because MKs from the Zionist Union, Yesh Atid and the haredi parties refuse to sign MK Oded Forer's (YIsrael Beytenu) bill to lawfully remove her."
In response, Zoabi requested the Ethics Committee "discuss the issue and issue a severe punishment, since [the offender] is a minister, and not just any minister but the Defense Minister. This will send a very clear and unambiguous message regarding the honor and immunity of a Knesset member."
She also claimed that by calling her a terrorist, Liberman "exposed her to a real threat."
Liberman for his part refused to apologize to Zoabi. In his response to the Ethics Committee he wrote, "At the end of the day, we're talking about a terrorist."
Last October, Zoabi declared that "Jews have no right to self-determination" and that Jews should leave the entire State of Israel.
In February 2017, Zoabi was booted from an Education Committee discussion after she called IDF soldiers "murderers." In March 2017, the Ethics Committee suspended Zoabi for one week as punishment for that statement.
She has also said she has a moral duty to defend terrorists who kidnap IDF civilians, and called for a mass intifada instead of "lone wolf" terror attacks.
4. MDA BILLS WIDOW OF MURDERED TERROR VICTIM FOR AMBULANCE RIDE

The widow of an Israeli rabbi murdered in a stabbing attack earlier this year has been charged for the emergency ambulance evacuation of her husband following the fatal attack.
In February, a 19-year-old Arab terrorist stabbed 29-year-old Rabbi Itamar Ben-Gal at a bus stop in the city of Ariel in Samaria.
Ben-Gal, an eighth grade teacher and a father of four, was evacuated to Beilinson Medical Center in Petah Tikva, only to be declared dead shortly after his arrival.
Miriam Ben-Gal, Itamar's widow, received a painful reminder of her loss recently, when she received a bill from MDA for the ambulance evacuation.
The bill was issued despite a policy exempting from payment those admitted for treatment at a hospital.
In the case of Itamar Ben-Gal, however, since his death was declared upon his arrival at Beilinson, he was not recorded as a patient of the hospital, prompting MDA to issue a charge to his widow.
"Nine and a half months after my sister buried her husband, my sister received a letter from MDA demanding that she pay for his evacuation to Beilinson," said Emunah Ki-Tov, Miriam Ben-Gal's sister.
"A woman in mourning, alone in her home one evening, opens a letter from MDA demanding payment because they checked and found that the health insurance doesn't cover ambulance rides that don't end in hospitalization."
After Arutz Sheva reached out to MDA for comment the bill was cancelled, and a statement apologizing for the accidental charge issued.
"This was a case of human error made with good intentions, despite the fact that for such [hospital] visits no payment is necessary, of course. We apologize to the family for the distress."
5. "MY NAME WASN'T ALWAYS CHANA"

6. TERRORIST KILLED AS IDF LAUNCHES AIRSTRIKES AFTER ROCKET ATTACK

The Israeli military launched a series of airstrikes on terrorist positions across the Gaza Strip Wednesday morning, hours after a rocket launched from Gaza hit the Israeli city of Beer Sheva.
In one strike, Israeli aircraft opened fire on terrorists in the city of Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip, an IDF spokesperson said Wednesday. According to the IDF, the terror cell was preparing to launch additional rockets at Israeli territory when the IDF aircraft opened fire.
"An IDF aircraft struck a terror cell in the northern Gaza Strip while they were attempting to fire rockets at Israeli territory," the Israeli military said.
"During the operation, warning sirens were sounded in the Hof Ashkelon Regional Council."
Hamas claimed that the Israeli airstrikes hit six separate targets in the Gaza Strip.
One terrorist was reported killed in the airstrikes. Gaza health officials identified the man as 25-year-old Naji al-Za'aneen.
The Israeli strikes came just hours after terrorists operating in the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip fired a rocket at the Israeli city of Beer Sheva.
The rocket landed next to a private home, damaging the building.
Nine people were treated for shock, including several who were evacuated to Soroka Hospital.
IDF spokesman Brig. Gen. Ronen Manelis said Wednesday morning that the rocket which landed in Beer Sheva was fired by terrorists affiliated with Hamas.
Hamas leaders, however, disavowed the attack, rejecting Israeli claims the Gaza-based group was responsible.
Manelis added that the IDF had struck 20 terrorist targets across the Gaza Strip, including tunnels used by terror groups.
In the wake of the rocket attack, Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman ordered the closure of the Erez and Kerem Shalom crossing points to Gaza.
Liberman also ordered the area open to fishing along the Gaza coast reduced to three nautical miles.
7. TRUMP PLAN INCLUDES UNIFICATION OF JUDEA, SAMARIA WITH GAZA

The Trump administration's 'Deal of the Century' to promote a final status agreement between Israel and the Palestinian Authority includes plans to reunite the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip with the Palestinian Authority, a senior White House official said Tuesday.
While details of President Trump's 'Deal of the Century' to achieve a lasting peace in the Middle East have yet to be released, White House special envoy Jason Greenblatt revealed in an interview with Yediot Ahronot Tuesday that the plan includes a provision for Palestinian Arab unity.
"Let's be clear about something: Gaza and the West Bank have been separated for 10 years, not only physically, but politically—between the Palestinian Authority and Hamas. It's absurd to deny that reality," Greenblatt said Tuesday.
"In contrast, our peace plan intends to bring them together. Make no mistake; we are in this to help all Palestinians, in both the West Bank and Gaza. The type of disinformation being spread by some parties who have not even seen the plan yet wish to be spoilers does nothing to benefit ordinary Palestinian lives."
Greenblatt did not reveal further details of the White House peace plan, which has yet to be finalized, but implored all parties involved to withhold judgment until the specifics of the plan are released.
"Once our plan is released, all parties should read it and judge it by its merits. The PLO should be a positive force to change people's lives for the better, and not try to sway people before they have even seen our plan," Greenblatt added.
Former Israeli Ambassador to the US Michael Oren (Kulanu), who now serves as Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Office, said the White House's plans to bring together the Gaza Strip and Palestinian Authority testified to the governments seriousness in pursuing a final status agreement.
"Greenblatt's statement regarding the connection between Gaza and Judea and Samaria proves that the government is very serious about its intentions to reach an agreement, on the basis of an uncompromising obligation to the security of Israel and all of its citizens – including [Israeli] citizens in Judea and Samaria."
While the Gaza Strip was included as part of the Palestinian Authority under the terms of the Oslo Accords, the coastal enclave has been ruled by the Hamas terror organization, following its takeover of Gaza in 2007.
Despite reconciliation talks between Hamas and the Palestinian Authority, culminating in the signing of a full reconciliation deal in 2017, Gaza has remained under de facto Hamas control, leading the Palestinian Authority to withhold payments to the Strip, including purchases of electricity from Israel.
8. SECOND ORTHODOX JEWISH MAN ATTACKED IN BROOKLYN IN 2 DAYS

A second identifiably Orthodox Jewish man was assaulted in Brooklyn for the second day in a row.
The attack took place in the racially mixed Crown Heights neighborhood on Monday afternoon, crownheights.info first reported.
A black teenager carrying a stick began chasing an older Jewish man who attempted to run away. The Jewish man attempted to duck inside a Jewish-owned laundromat, where the teen managed to hit him on his back and shoulders, breaking the stick, according to the report.
Witnesses chased the teen, who was apprehended and arrested by police with the assistance of the Shomrim volunteer patrol.
The teen, who had been released by police about a half hour earlier after he was caught shoplifting, was charged with felony assault, menacing, harassment, and criminal possession of a weapon, as well as a hate crime.

On Sunday, an identifiably Orthodox Jewish man was beaten at a traffic intersection in Brooklyn in an assault that was investigated as a possible hate crime. The assailant has been identified as 37-year-old cab driver Farrukh Afzal. He has been charged with assault, criminal mischief, and harassment. He reportedly attacked the victim, identified as Rabbi Lipa Schwartz, 62, because he thought he was an Orthodox Jewish man who had stepped in front of his car earlier in the day.
Yeshiva World News reported hate crime charges were dropped and the incident was labeled a road rage incident. Schwartz claims that Afzal shouted "Allah, Allah," said he wanted to "kill all Jews," and made references to Israel throughout the attack. Afzal's wife told the New York Daily News that her husband, who is from Pakistan and is Muslim, is schizophrenic and was acting out because he did not take his medication.

1. 'WE LOST EVERYTHING'

Hours after a powerful rocket fired from the Gaza Strip into Israel struck a private home in the southern city of Beer Sheva, the now homeless family which resided in the now destroyed house is calling on the public to help them rebuild their lives.
"I don't have a home," said Miri Tamano, the mother of three whose home was destroyed when a rocket fired from the Gaza Strip overnight landed in her yard. "I have three kids, each of them means the world to me."
Tamano said her family was left without even the bare essentials, and would need help from the public.
"In particular, [we need] the bare essentials, so that we can get on our feet. Everything has been lost."
The family will be staying in a hotel while repairs are made to the house.
Tamano and her three children were treated for shock after the rocket landed next to their house, but were saved from far more serious injury by the fact that Tamano had rushed the family into a specially fortified shelter room.
The rocket was fired overnight by terrorists operating in the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip.
The IDF attributed the rocket attack to the Hamas terror organization, a claim denied by Hamas leaders.
Hours after the attack, Israeli fighter jets attacked 20 terrorist positions across the Gaza Strip, killing at least one terrorist.
2. 'NEVER WAS AND NEVER WILL BE ONE LIKE HIM'

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu attended the funeral of his attorney and friend Dr. Yaakov Weinroth tonight, and eulogized him in the Netanya cemetery where he was laid to rest.
"This morning we received the bitter news, our beloved friend Yaakov, our friend for 20 years, one of the greatest judges of the Jewish People, who died during the night. Sara and I are shocked and grieved. Many of the Israeli public feel a great man has left us, a jurist who in some ways there never was and never will be one like him," said Netanyahu.
"We'd sit in his office and he'd bring some children and some grandchildren, proudly show me them, redheads, little Weinroths, so proud of them. You also saw their pride in him," said Netanyahu.
"The Weinroth family went through so much grief in one year, one thing after another. The cursed disease overcame the daughter-in-law, the brother, the brother-in-law, and we came to comfort Yaakov and I thought what he was thinking - he had the same disease. With his huge heart, he knew what I was thinking. This cursed disease has now taken him away from us. We embrace the family and take them into our hearts."

The son, Rabbi Yechiel Weinroth, eulogized his father earlier, "Forgive me, dear father, and may all those gathered here forgive me that the obituary will be short. I find it difficult to find the words that can contain the scope of the personage, the meaning, the images that pass before me in no order.
"The role of everyone in the world is to strive to achieve high aspirations, to strive for the highest. On the other hand, don't forget to see the other, the sharing. Combine these two. This is the description most suitable for you, Father. When it all started you said a few times that you're not so afraid of death itself. You were afraid the disease would take away your humanity. I want to tell you that not only did it not take human dignity from you, it multiplied it a lot more. We've all been privileged to see a model of sensitivity to others is in the most difficult situations."
Tel Aviv-Jaffa Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau eulogized: "Many years ago, a 17-year-old boy entered the home of my father-in-law, Rabbi Yitzchak Frankel zt"l, in the Florentine neighborhood. He came as a young man in Ponevezh to be examined on Shulchan Aruch to receive rabbinical ordination. Rabbi Frenkel would sit with such young men for half-hour or an hour.
"They sat in the library for three hours. After that the young man came out and my mother-in-law the Rebbetzin asked the rabbi, 'Yitzhak, what was it that you spent so long with this young man?' He told her, 'Mark my words: From this room a true genius emerged.'
"Everyone knows about Yaakov Weinroth, the great lawyer, but not many people know about the chavruta learning with the head of the Ponevezh yeshiva, and they don't know about Yaakov Weinroth as a secret provider to institutions and organizations. It's hard to know what precedes what: The brilliant mind that had no match or the mighty heart that was compassionate and merciful. Weinroth was a righteous man and a great man."

3. DEFENSE MINISTER REPRIMANDED FOR CALLING ARAB MK A TERRORIST

Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman (Yisrael Beytenu) on Wednesday was reprimanded by the Knesset's Ethics Committee for calling MK Hanin Zoabi (Joint Arab List) a 'terrorist."
The reprimand comes after Zoabi complained about a June tweet in which Liberman wrote, "Terrorist Hanin Zoabi is in the Knesset and advancing terror against IDF soldiers and Israeli citizens, because MKs from the Zionist Union, Yesh Atid and the haredi parties refuse to sign MK Oded Forer's (YIsrael Beytenu) bill to lawfully remove her."
In response, Zoabi requested the Ethics Committee "discuss the issue and issue a severe punishment, since [the offender] is a minister, and not just any minister but the Defense Minister. This will send a very clear and unambiguous message regarding the honor and immunity of a Knesset member."
She also claimed that by calling her a terrorist, Liberman "exposed her to a real threat."
Liberman for his part refused to apologize to Zoabi. In his response to the Ethics Committee he wrote, "At the end of the day, we're talking about a terrorist."
Last October, Zoabi declared that "Jews have no right to self-determination" and that Jews should leave the entire State of Israel.
In February 2017, Zoabi was booted from an Education Committee discussion after she called IDF soldiers "murderers." In March 2017, the Ethics Committee suspended Zoabi for one week as punishment for that statement.
She has also said she has a moral duty to defend terrorists who kidnap IDF civilians, and called for a mass intifada instead of "lone wolf" terror attacks.
4. MDA BILLS WIDOW OF MURDERED TERROR VICTIM FOR AMBULANCE RIDE

The widow of an Israeli rabbi murdered in a stabbing attack earlier this year has been charged for the emergency ambulance evacuation of her husband following the fatal attack.
In February, a 19-year-old Arab terrorist stabbed 29-year-old Rabbi Itamar Ben-Gal at a bus stop in the city of Ariel in Samaria.
Ben-Gal, an eighth grade teacher and a father of four, was evacuated to Beilinson Medical Center in Petah Tikva, only to be declared dead shortly after his arrival.
Miriam Ben-Gal, Itamar's widow, received a painful reminder of her loss recently, when she received a bill from MDA for the ambulance evacuation.
The bill was issued despite a policy exempting from payment those admitted for treatment at a hospital.
In the case of Itamar Ben-Gal, however, since his death was declared upon his arrival at Beilinson, he was not recorded as a patient of the hospital, prompting MDA to issue a charge to his widow.
"Nine and a half months after my sister buried her husband, my sister received a letter from MDA demanding that she pay for his evacuation to Beilinson," said Emunah Ki-Tov, Miriam Ben-Gal's sister.
"A woman in mourning, alone in her home one evening, opens a letter from MDA demanding payment because they checked and found that the health insurance doesn't cover ambulance rides that don't end in hospitalization."
After Arutz Sheva reached out to MDA for comment the bill was cancelled, and a statement apologizing for the accidental charge issued.
"This was a case of human error made with good intentions, despite the fact that for such [hospital] visits no payment is necessary, of course. We apologize to the family for the distress."

Israeli attorney Jacob Weinroth, one of Israel's leading lawyers and an attorney for Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, passed away Tuesday at the age of 71 following a battle with cancer.
The Prime Minister eulogized Weinroth Tuesday, praising Weinroth on Twitter for his "sense of justice and loyalty to his people".
"My wife and I are saddened by the passing of attorney Jacob Weinroth. Jacob had a great personality, great wisdom, sharpness of mind, and a great sense of justice and loyalty to his people."
"This is a great loss to his family, to his acquaintances and admirers, and it is a great loss to the Israeli world of law."
Born in 1947 in Ansbach, Germany, Weinroth and his family made Aliyah to Israel in 1949.
An alumnus of Ponovezh and Mir yeshivas, Weinroth was ordained as a rabbi by Rabbi Bezalel Zolti, Rabbi Shmuel Rozovsky, and Rabbi David Povarsky.
Weinroth earned his LL.B. and master's degree in jurisprudence from Tel Aviv University in 1972 and 1974, earning his Ph.D in law from Tel Aviv University in 1982.
Widely considered to have been one of Israel's leading litigators, Weinroth represented a number of high-profile clients including Prime Minister Netanyahu, former President Ezer Weizman, former IDF Chief of Staff Rafael Eitan, as well as the Jewish Underground of the mid-1980s.

Diplomats from across the Arab world warned Australia on Tuesday that Canberra risked both its relations with Arab states as well as the viability of the peace process in the Middle East if it recognizes Jerusalem as Israel's capital.
Ambassadors from 13 Arab states gathered in the Australian capital city of Canberra on Tuesday to discuss the new Australian premier's decision to consider relocating his country's embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
Egypt's Ambassador to Australia, Mohamed Khairat, told Reuters that the Arab ambassadors were drawing up a letter to the Australian Foreign Minister, Marise Payne, to highlight the consequences they say would result from Australian recognition of Jerusalem.
"We have agreed that we will send a letter to the foreign minister expressing our worries and our concern about such a statement," Khairat said.
"Any decision like that might damage the peace process," Khairat continued, "this will have very negative implications on the relations between Australia and not only Arab countries but many other (Islamic countries) as well."
Australia's new Prime Minister, Scott Morrison, who replaced Malcolm Turnbull in late August after members of the ruling Liberal Party ousted Turnbull, suggested Monday that his government may recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital city, following President Trump's decision last December to relocate the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
Morrison said his cabinet would weigh in on the question, but added that no decision was likely for the next couple of months.
"I intend to discuss this further with cabinet colleagues in the coming months," Morrison said.
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu spoke with Morrison earlier on Monday and thanked him for considering officially recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and relocating the Australian embassy there.
A small but growing number of countries have recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel since US President Donald Trump announced that the US would officially recognize the city as the capital of the Jewish State last December. These countries include Guatemala, the Czech Republic and Honduras.
Another country which relocated its embassy to Jerusalem was Paraguay, though its President Mario Abdo Benitez recently reversed his predecessor's decision and announced the embassy would move from Jerusalem back to Tel Aviv.
3. MAN SHOT DRIVING TRACTOR TOWARDS ISRAELI AMBASSADOR'S HOUSE

A man driving a tractor near the home of the Israeli ambassador in Ankara, Turkey was shot Tuesday morning, Turkish media outlets reported.
According to a report by Maariv, the driver, who has been identified as 45-year-old Aydin Sakarya, refused to respond to police demands that he stop his vehicle, and continued driving towards what was initially reported as the Israeli embassy compound.
Ankara police opened fire on Sakarya, wounding him in the leg. Police took the suspect into custody for questioning.
The Associated Press earlier reported that the driver was shot near the Turkish parliament building.
Later on Tuesday, the Israeli Foreign Ministry clarified that the incident took place near the Israeli ambassador's residence, not the embassy itself.
According to a report by Turkey's Anadolu media outlet, the driver told investigators he had wanted to drive to the Israeli embassy to stage a protest.
On Monday, Turkish security forces evacuated the Iranian embassy in Ankara, following a suicide bomb threat.
4. ARABS DESTROY ANCIENT JEWISH VILLAGE

At the end of last week, inspectors from the Israel Antiquities Authority's (IAA) antiquities robbery prevention unit and Border Police volunteers caught red-handed two Arab antiquities robbers, breaking and smashing with the help of a bulldozer an antiquities site identified in research with the biblical Dovrat in northern Israel.
A few days prior to the incident, IAA inspectors located damage that was carried out at the site, and since then the site has been under constant surveillance. At the end of the week the suspects returned to the site with a bulldozer and began to carry out destructive work in search of antiquities.
During the search, they uncovered and destroyed underground cavities and uprooted masonry stones that were part of the remains of a 2,000-year-old settlement. Fragments of basalt millstones used to grind flour in antiquity and potsherds from the Hellenistic period could be found in the debris of the destruction.
IAA inspectors and Border Police volunteers who arrived shortly afterwards caught two suspects from the nearby village of Daburiya. The two, brothers in their thirties, were brought to the Tiberias police station, interrogated by the Israel Antiquities Authority investigators, and their detention was extended. Yesterday afternoon they were brought before a magistrates court in Tiberias and released on bail. The bulldozer used to carry out the destruction of the antiquities was confiscated, and the authority intends to request that it be impounded.
According to Nir Distelfeld, the inspector of the Antiquities Authority's robbery prevention unit in the northern region, "The illegal and brutal excavations at the archeological sites are causing terrible destruction of heritage sites, and the history of all of us has been damaged forever. This excavation site, near the village of Daburiya from where the robbers came, gets hit time after time with attempts at illegal digging in searches for antiquities. The pursuit of money takes the sense out of people. The scenes at the site are shocking and cause one to shudder, and fortunately they were stopped and greater damage was prevented. It is important to know that digging at an antiquities site is a criminal offense, and that the maximum penalty prescribed for it in the law is up to five years in prison," he said.
The antiquity site known as Horvat Devorah is identified in research with the biblical Dovrat, and with Dvora, described as a Jewish village in the Zippori region in the Roman period. In the past, foundations of buildings, hewn water cisterns and ancient tombs have been found at the site.

Four residents of the haredi town of Beitar Illit were hospitalized after they reported feeling ill shortly after coming in contact with a powdery material found in packages they received from an online retailer.
The four Beitar Illit residents – including a 47-year-old mother, a 20-year-old daughter, 17-year-old son, and a 7-year-old son – called emergency medical services after they fell ill Sunday afternoon.
Initial reports indicate the four fell ill after they opened two packages they had received in the mail from China, as part of an online order from the Ali Express website.
The packages apparently contained a suspicious powder, which authorities later identified as magnesium carbonate.
Police were dispatched to the scene and cordoned off the Rebbe MeZvhil Street.
United Hatzalah emergency first responder teams treated the four family members at the scene, before evacuating them to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem, following tests at Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital. The four were listed in light condition.
"There were four family members," said United Hatzalah paramedic Haim Blau, "who felt ill after they opened a package with an unidentified substance in it. Fire and rescue teams as well as security forces are working at the scene. The four victims were evacuated for testing at Hadassah Ein Kerem in Jerusalem, and at this stage they are in light condition."

An Orthodox Jewish man was assaulted on his way to morning prayers in Brooklyn, New York Sunday morning in an unprovoked attack.
The incident occurred on Church Avenue in Brooklyn, as the victim was walking to a synagogue on nearby 13th Avenue at approximately 7:30 a.m. While the victim was making his way to the synagogue, a taxi marked "Church Ave. Car Service" pulled up to the curb, and the driver exited the vehicle.
The driver shouted at the victim, and then proceeded to physically assault him, punching the victim in the face repeatedly.
According to a report by the Yeshiva World News website, the victim is 62 years old.
Members of the local 'Shomrim' neighborhood watch group responded to the attack, and helped capture and detain the assailant, who was later transferred to police custody.
Emergency medical teams treated the victim on the scene before evacuating him to Maimonides Hospital in light condition.
8. HOSTAGE SITUATION FOLLOWING SHOOTING IN GERMAN TRAIN STATION

At least one person was taken hostage at a train station Monday afternoon in the city of Cologne in western Germany.
Witnesses reported hearing shots being fired at the Cologne Central Station, German media outlets reported.
Local police have cordoned off roads around the station and have warned the public to keep away from the station and the surrounding area.
There are reports that one person has been taken hostage.
According to a report by The Associated Press, police officer Christoph Schulte said that the incident occurred at approximately 12:45 p.m. in a pharmacy inside the Cologne central train station.

Israeli attorney Jacob Weinroth, one of Israel's leading lawyers and an attorney for Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, passed away Tuesday at the age of 71 following a battle with cancer.
The Prime Minister eulogized Weinroth Tuesday, praising Weinroth on Twitter for his "sense of justice and loyalty to his people".
"My wife and I are saddened by the passing of attorney Jacob Weinroth. Jacob had a great personality, great wisdom, sharpness of mind, and a great sense of justice and loyalty to his people."
"This is a great loss to his family, to his acquaintances and admirers, and it is a great loss to the Israeli world of law."
Born in 1947 in Ansbach, Germany, Weinroth and his family made Aliyah to Israel in 1949.
An alumnus of Ponovezh and Mir yeshivas, Weinroth was ordained as a rabbi by Rabbi Bezalel Zolti, Rabbi Shmuel Rozovsky, and Rabbi David Povarsky.
Weinroth earned his LL.B. and master's degree in jurisprudence from Tel Aviv University in 1972 and 1974, earning his Ph.D in law from Tel Aviv University in 1982.
Widely considered to have been one of Israel's leading litigators, Weinroth represented a number of high-profile clients including Prime Minister Netanyahu, former President Ezer Weizman, former IDF Chief of Staff Rafael Eitan, as well as the Jewish Underground of the mid-1980s.

An Arab terrorist attempted to carry out a stabbing attack near Highway 5 in Samaria Monday afternoon, but was eliminated by Israeli security forces before he could reach his target.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred near Gitti Avisar junction on Highway 5 outside the Israeli town of Barkan when the terrorist lunged at IDF soldiers while brandishing a knife.
Soldiers at the scene opened fire on the terrorist, seriously wounding him.
The terrorist later succumbed to his wounds.
There no injuries reported among the IDF soldiers at the scene.
Samaria Regional Council chief Yossi Dagan arrived at the scene of the attempted attack shortly after the terrorist was neutralized.
"I spoke with the officers in the field and I was given a situation briefing from both the officers on location and from the Samaria Regional Council security division," said Dagan.
"The vigilance of our soldiers and their dedication prevented a terror attack and saved lives."
"The terrorist tried to stab soldiers, but thank heaven, there were no injuries [among the soldiers] and the terrorist has been neutralized."
Earlier on Monday, a Supreme Court justice was attacked while driving on Route 463 in the Binyamin district of Samaria.
The judge, Justice David Mintz, managed to escape after a group of three Palestinian Arabs approached his car carrying hammers. During the apparent carjacking attempt, the would-be assailants used their car to block the road, and force Mintz to stop.
2. 'WHY IS HEBREW UNIVERSITY BACKING ANTI-ISRAEL ACTIVIST?'

A Zionist NGO has launched a campaign to pressure an Israeli college to drop its support for an American graduate student facing deportation from Israel over her support for the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement.
On October 2nd, 22-year-old Florida resident Lara Alqasem arrived at Ben Gurion International Airport, with plans to study in a master's degree program at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
Upon her arrival at Ben Gurion International Airport, however, Interior Ministry officials refused to grant Alqasem entry, despite the fact that she had already been issued a student visa prior to her arrival.
Alqasem, who had served as the University of Florida chapter president of the radical anti-Israel group Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), was denied entry based on her support for the BDS movement, which the SJP has endorsed.
Alqasem appealed the decision to bar her from entering the country, but the Tel Aviv district court upheld the ban in a ruling on Friday.
On Sunday, however, the Supreme Court ordered that Alqasem's deportation not be carried out until the court has time to consider her case.
As Alqasem pursues legal challenges to her deportation order, the Hebrew University has backed her efforts to remain in the country.
Im Tirtzu, a pro-Zionist NGO which monitors anti-Israeli rhetoric on college campuses, is lobbying donors to the Hebrew University in a bid to pressure the school to drop its support for Alqasem.
In a series of letters penned by Im Tirtzu's CEO Matan Peleg to Hebrew University donors, Peleg wrote that Hebrew University's defense of Alqasem not only harms students in Israel, "but harms every pro-Israel student in the United States and around the world who is struggling to combat the BDS movement."
"By defending Alqasem," the letter continued, "Hebrew University is sending a demoralizing message to pro-Israel students around the world and is providing a boost to the BDS movement."
The letter also called attention to Alqasem's support of Rasmea Odeh, a convicted terrorist who murdered two Hebrew University students in 1969. During Alqasem's tenure as president of "Students for Justice in Palestine" in the University of Florida, she organized a demonstration in support of Odeh.
Urging donors to bring up this matter with the university leadership, the letter concluded: "We cannot stand idly by as the great Zionist legacy of Hebrew University becomes tarnished by political agendas on behalf of those who oppose Israel's right to exist."
3. IT'S OFFICIAL: PRINCE HARRY, MEGHAN MARKLE EXPECTING FIRST CHILD

The British royal family will be gaining another member early next year, roughly a year after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tied the knot.
The royal couple, who carry the titles of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, say they are expecting their first child in the spring of 2019.
The announcement was made via the Kensington Palace official Twitter account Monday morning.
"Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019," the post read.
Prince Harry, 34, and Meghan Markle, 37, were married this May in a ceremony at St. George's Chapel in Windsor castle.
This April, The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, wife of Prince William, gave birth to a baby boy.

On Sunday morning, a taxi driver with a vehicle marked "Church Ave. Car Service" pulled up to the curb on Church Avenue in Brooklyn, next to a Hassidic man making his way to a nearby synagogue for morning prayers.
In an unprovoked attack, the driver proceeded to beat the Hassidic man, while cursing at him in Arabic.
The assailant was later identified as 37-year-old Farrukh Afzal of Staten Island.
The victim, 62-year-old father of nine Lipa Schwartz, suffered light head injuries during the attack, and was evacuated to Maimonides Hospital.
A passerby confronted Afzal, forcing him to flee. Members of the local neighborhood watch group, the Shomrim, were notified of the attack and helped detain Afzal until police were able to take him into custody.
According to CBS2, the attack was a case of mistaken identity. Afzal had apparently been involved in a traffic accident with another Hassidic man just prior to the attack, and mistook Schwartz for the man involved in the traffic incident.
Seeking revenge, Afzal spotted Schwartz while looking for the man involved in the accident.
Speaking with reporters Sunday evening, Schwartz recalled the assault, and his attempts to flee Afzal.
"A car came and made such a short stop," Schwartz told Vos Iz Neias. "I was in shock. I turned around to see what's going to happen, and all of the sudden he came out. He looks like a real murderer."
"All of the sudden boom-boom-boom, he starts to hit me. I'm screaming and I tried to run away from him. The whole time he was cursing me out. He didn't talk English – it was Arabic the whole time."
Schwartz said he was lucky Afzal was unarmed at the time of the attack, saying that the assailant was so enraged during the assault, that he would likely have stabbed Schwartz if had been able to.
"He came out from the car. I couldn't explain to you how angry he was. He was screaming the whole time," Schwartz told CBS2.
"I'm telling you if he had a knife he would stab me right on the place [sic]. No doubt," Schwartz said.
Schwartz was later released from the hospital.
"Baruch Hashem I'm out of the hospital with some minor bruises," Schwartz told Boropark24.
"But the trauma of being attacked by someone who seemed to want revenge will stay with me forever."

5. SUPREME COURT JUDGE NARROWLY ESCAPES ARAB ATTACK IN SAMARIA

An Israeli man narrowly escaped an attempted carjacking in western Samaria Monday morning, the latest in a string of such incidents in the Binyamin district of Samaria.
The incident occurred at a junction on Route 463 in Samaria Monday morning, when an Israeli resident of a Binyamin-area town spotted an Arab car blocking the road.
The driver, who has been identified as Supreme Court Justice David Mintz, is a resident of the Israeli town of Dolev.
When Justice Mintz stopped his car, three men stepped out of the parked Palestinian Authority vehicle. According to the report filed with police, the three men were armed with hammers.
After he spotted the three men approaching him, Mintz managed to escape the scene and avoid the apparent carjacking attempt.
Mintz reported the incident to Judea and Samaria district police, who launched an investigation into the attempted carjacking.
In recent months there have been a number of carjacking attempts in the central and western Binyamin district of Samaria.
In July, a 60-year-old Israeli man from the town of Ofra was beaten by a pair of Arab carjackers on Route 465.
In June, an Arab car thief stole an Israeli vehicle near the city of Modiin Illit in western Samaria.
6. HAREDI FAMILY HOSPITALIZED AFTER OPENING ALI EXPRESS ORDER

Four residents of the haredi town of Beitar Illit were hospitalized after they reported feeling ill shortly after coming in contact with a powdery material found in packages they received from an online retailer.
The four Beitar Illit residents – including a 47-year-old mother, a 20-year-old daughter, 17-year-old son, and a 7-year-old son – called emergency medical services after they fell ill Sunday afternoon.
Initial reports indicate the four fell ill after they opened two packages they had received in the mail from China, as part of an online order from the Ali Express website.
The packages apparently contained a suspicious powder, which authorities later identified as magnesium carbonate.
Police were dispatched to the scene and cordoned off the Rebbe MeZvhil Street.
United Hatzalah emergency first responder teams treated the four family members at the scene, before evacuating them to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem, following tests at Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital. The four were listed in light condition.
"There were four family members," said United Hatzalah paramedic Haim Blau, "who felt ill after they opened a package with an unidentified substance in it. Fire and rescue teams as well as security forces are working at the scene. The four victims were evacuated for testing at Hadassah Ein Kerem in Jerusalem, and at this stage they are in light condition."
7. JERUSALEM MOTEL ARSON ATTACK VICTIM DIES

Ronen Oz, who was critically injured in an arson attack at a Jerusalem motel in July, died of his wounds overnight at the Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer.
The Oz parents had come to Jerusalem with their two children to celebrate the 45th birthday of father Ronen. All of them were severely injured in the fire.
They were sleeping in a room of the motel when a fire suddenly broke out due to arson. The family slept on the first floor and apparently succeeded in escaping due to the father's resourcefulness.
An Arab resident of eastern Jerusalem arrested on suspicion of setting the motel on fire recounted the act to police investigators. An Arab woman originally from Shechem who now lives with her Jewish partner and two children in Jerusalem, was also involved in setting fire to the motel and was arrested in the course of the investigation into the affair.

With a month remaining until the chuppah, exasperation has set in. Moshe, a father who once lovingly provided for his children, has been forced to record an emotional video begging strangers to help him to marry off his daughter. Sara, who at just 18 has focused her efforts on helping her parents to raise her siblings, longs for the chance to start anew. The situation is bad: Moshe's treatments are now longer affordable, and the family has yet to purchase Sara a wedding dress, a hall, or any of the necessary wedding expenses.
Their state of poverty and need is so extreme that their cause has been picked up by charity organization Kupat Ha'Ir. Donations are being accepted to "Sara's Fund" here for a limited time. The campaign shows touching pictures of a young kallah and her chassan. If one did not know the desperate suffering of her family, they might even think she was happy. With the help of strangers however, she could be.

An Arab terrorist attempted to carry out a stabbing attack near Highway 5 in Samaria Monday afternoon, but was eliminated by Israeli security forces before he could reach his target.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred near Gitti Avisar junction on Highway 5 outside the Israeli town of Barkan when the terrorist lunged at IDF soldiers while brandishing a knife.
Soldiers at the scene opened fire on the terrorist, seriously wounding him.
The terrorist later succumbed to his wounds.
There no injuries reported among the IDF soldiers at the scene.
Samaria Regional Council chief Yossi Dagan arrived at the scene of the attempted attack shortly after the terrorist was neutralized.
"I spoke with the officers in the field and I was given a situation briefing from both the officers on location and from the Samaria Regional Council security division," said Dagan.
"The vigilance of our soldiers and their dedication prevented a terror attack and saved lives."
"The terrorist tried to stab soldiers, but thank heaven, there were no injuries [among the soldiers] and the terrorist has been neutralized."
Earlier on Monday, a Supreme Court justice was attacked while driving on Route 463 in the Binyamin district of Samaria.
The judge, Justice David Mintz, managed to escape after a group of three Palestinian Arabs approached his car carrying hammers. During the apparent carjacking attempt, the would-be assailants used their car to block the road, and force Mintz to stop.
2. 'WHY IS HEBREW UNIVERSITY BACKING ANTI-ISRAEL ACTIVIST?'

A Zionist NGO has launched a campaign to pressure an Israeli college to drop its support for an American graduate student facing deportation from Israel over her support for the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement.
On October 2nd, 22-year-old Florida resident Lara Alqasem arrived at Ben Gurion International Airport, with plans to study in a master's degree program at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
Upon her arrival at Ben Gurion International Airport, however, Interior Ministry officials refused to grant Alqasem entry, despite the fact that she had already been issued a student visa prior to her arrival.
Alqasem, who had served as the University of Florida chapter president of the radical anti-Israel group Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), was denied entry based on her support for the BDS movement, which the SJP has endorsed.
Alqasem appealed the decision to bar her from entering the country, but the Tel Aviv district court upheld the ban in a ruling on Friday.
On Sunday, however, the Supreme Court ordered that Alqasem's deportation not be carried out until the court has time to consider her case.
As Alqasem pursues legal challenges to her deportation order, the Hebrew University has backed her efforts to remain in the country.
Im Tirtzu, a pro-Zionist NGO which monitors anti-Israeli rhetoric on college campuses, is lobbying donors to the Hebrew University in a bid to pressure the school to drop its support for Alqasem.
In a series of letters penned by Im Tirtzu's CEO Matan Peleg to Hebrew University donors, Peleg wrote that Hebrew University's defense of Alqasem not only harms students in Israel, "but harms every pro-Israel student in the United States and around the world who is struggling to combat the BDS movement."
"By defending Alqasem," the letter continued, "Hebrew University is sending a demoralizing message to pro-Israel students around the world and is providing a boost to the BDS movement."
The letter also called attention to Alqasem's support of Rasmea Odeh, a convicted terrorist who murdered two Hebrew University students in 1969. During Alqasem's tenure as president of "Students for Justice in Palestine" in the University of Florida, she organized a demonstration in support of Odeh.
Urging donors to bring up this matter with the university leadership, the letter concluded: "We cannot stand idly by as the great Zionist legacy of Hebrew University becomes tarnished by political agendas on behalf of those who oppose Israel's right to exist."
3. IT'S OFFICIAL: PRINCE HARRY, MEGHAN MARKLE EXPECTING FIRST CHILD

The British royal family will be gaining another member early next year, roughly a year after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tied the knot.
The royal couple, who carry the titles of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, say they are expecting their first child in the spring of 2019.
The announcement was made via the Kensington Palace official Twitter account Monday morning.
"Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019," the post read.
Prince Harry, 34, and Meghan Markle, 37, were married this May in a ceremony at St. George's Chapel in Windsor castle.

2. GOLAN HEIGHTS CROSSING TO REOPEN MONDAY

The United Nations (UN), Israel, and Syria have agreed to reopen the Quneitra crossing between Israel and Syria in the Golan Heights on October 15.
The reopening is part of an ongoing effort of UN peacekeepers in the UN Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) to carry out their mandate, which includes maintaining the ceasefire between Israel and Syria.
UNDOF's mandate was established in a UN Security Council resolution as well as the 1974 Disengagement of Forces Agreement between Israel and Syria.
"The United States welcomes the reopening of this crossing, which will allow UN peacekeepers to step up their efforts to prevent hostilities in the Golan Heights region," US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley said. "We look to both Israel and Syria to provide UN peacekeepers the access they need as well as assurances of their safety."
"We also call on Syria to take the necessary steps so UNDOF can safely and effectively deploy and patrol without interference.
"While this is an important step, all sides must abide by the 1974 Agreement and keep any military forces other than UN peacekeepers out of the area."
3. DM: NO FUEL FOR GAZA UNTIL VIOLENCE ENDS

Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman (Yisrael Beytenu) on Saturday said that Israel will not provide fuel or gas to Gaza if conflicts continue.
Liberman halted the transfer of fuel to Gaza on Friday, after several Gaza terrorists who detonated a bomb on the Israel-Gaza border fence and attacked an IDF position inside Israel.
"As long as the violence in Gaza - including sending incendiary balloons and burning tires opposite Israeli towns - does not cease completely, we will not renew the provision of fuels and gas to Gaza," Liberman tweeted.
Earlier on Saturday, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh said that conflict would continue until Hamas' demands are met.
"Woe betide you if you cease the March of Return before the siege is lifted," Haniyeh told Gazans. "Our marches are not for the sake of fuel and money. They are our nation's natural right."
On Saturday morning, an explosive device was found attached to a balloon in an Israeli town in the Eshkol Region. The device was hidden in a carton and neutralized by a sapper. No one was injured and no damage was caused.
Earlier this week, Israel permitted Qatari-purchased fuel to enter Gaza in a bid to ease tensions in the region.
Gaza terrorists began sending incendiary kites and balloons into Israel in May, endangering lives, wasting precious water resources, burning tens of thousands of dunams of land, and causing millions of shekels in damage.
4. IDF MEDICAL FORCES IN ROMANIA FOR SPECIAL EXERCISE

Today, Sunday, a delegation of soldiers and officers from the IDF Medical Corps landed in Romania to participate in an international exercise which is held in cooperation with the European Union.
The delegation is comprised of 160 active duty and reserve medical and logistics personnel, who will simulate establishing a field hospital in an earthquake scenario as well as other on ground and airborne scenarios.
This is the most distant and largest exercise the IDF Medical Corps has conducted. The purpose of the exercise is to preserve the readiness and qualifications of the corps and in particular, the
General Staff Surgical - Hospitalization Unit.
This unit, which has already been deployed as part of IDF aid delegations to countries such as Nepal and Haiti, has been recognized by the World Health Organization as the first Level 3 Field Hospital in the world – this is the highest existing level, which enables the performance of surgical procedures in the hospital. During the exercise, the unit will be deployed in its fullest extent and will include an emergency room, an intensive care unit, a hospitalization department, an imaging institute and a laboratory, which will all be synchronized by a 24/7 operations room.
The delegation departed from the Ben Gurion International Airport on Saturday night and landed in Bucharest early this morning. The head of the delegation is the Deputy Chief Medical Officer and Head of the Operational Medical Department, Col. Dr. Hagay Frenkel. The Commanding Officer of the General Staff Surgical - Hospitalization Unit is Col. (res) Dr. Ofer Merin.
The delegation includes -36 doctors, 21 nurses, 2 pharmacists, 7 military paramedics, a mental health professional, a veterinarian, a physiotherapist, 5 X-ray technicians, 4 laboratory personnel, 4 biologists, 13 medical assistants, a medical clown, a military rabbi and 7 kitchen staff members.
Within the delegation members there are 90 reservists, 3 IDF employed civilians and 3 academic soldiers. The remaining staff members of the delegation are mandatory and career service soldiers. During the Aerial Evacuation Exercise, an additional 10 doctors, 10 medical professionals, the Airborne Rescue and Evacuation Unit (Unit 669) and a flight team will take part.
The most advanced equipment was brought to the field hospital. The equipment includes 50 beds (hospitalization, emergency and operation beds), dozens of various medications, 200 test tubes, 8 respirators, an operation table, an anesthesia machine, 2 ultrasound machines, a vehicle carrying a water purifier and an oxygen producing device. All of the above will be spread out in 10 air conditioned tents.
The Israeli camp will be placed beside the camps of Romania, Britain, Germany, Sweden, Italy, Norway and the European Union representatives, and delegations will be housed in 120 tents.
The electricity will be supplied by two large and advanced generators.
"This is the largest operational exercise of the Medical Corps yet," Dr. Frenkel said. "The exercise contributes to strengthen the cooperation between the IDF and the European Union. We are performing this exercise in order to improve the preparedness of the Medical Corps to save lives."
5. LIBERMAN ANNOUNCES NEW JEWISH NEIGHBORHOOD IN HEVRON

The cabinet today approved the decision to bypass government bureaucracy to allocate a budget to promote constructing a new Jewish neighborhood in Hevron.
The purpose of the budget is to finance evacuating the military camp in the area, so construction work can begin.
Defense Minister Liberman referred to the decision to approve the new neighborhood's construction, called the Hezekiah Quarter, and thanked the partners for the move.
"A new Jewish neighborhood in Hevron; for the first time in 20 years, instead of a military camp we will build a new neighborhood," he said.
Liberman added, "I thank the Prime Minister and the ministers who signed to approve the Hezekiah Quarter Plan that I formulated, and this is yet another important milestone in the extensive activities we're leading to strengthen settlement in Judea and Samaria."

6. UN SPECIAL COORDINATOR CONDEMNS ARAB WOMAN'S DEATH

UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, former UN SRSG for Iraq, Foreign and Defense Minister of Bulgaria Nickolay E. Mladenov responded to allegations that an Arab woman in Samaria was killed by "settlers" near Tapuach junction. The Shin Bet is investigating the 47-year-old woman's death.
"I condemn this Friday's attack in the West Bank in which a Palestinian woman was killed and her husband injured by stones allegedly thrown by Israeli assailants," Mladenov said. "Those responsible must be swiftly brought to justice. I urge all to stand up to violence and terror."
Palestinian Authority (PA) leadership announced on Thursday it would no longer work with Mladenov, accusing him of overstepping his role by seeking a deal between Israel and Hamas.

Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) executive committee member Ahmed Majdalani said it informed the UN Secretary General that Mladenov was "no longer acceptable" to the PA government.

7. PRIME MINISTER THREATENS HAMAS: 'VERY STRONG BLOWS'

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu opened the weekly cabinet meeting this morning, Sunday, by addressing the security situation in the south.
Netanyahu took advantage of the opportunity to issue threats against Hamas following the escalation of the situation along the Gaza Strip border during the past week.
"Hamas has apparently not understood the message: If they do not stop the attacks, they will be stopped in another way and it will be painful, very painful," Netanyahu said.
The prime minister added, "We are very close to activity of a different kind that will include very strong blows. If Hamas has any sense, it will stop the fire and the violent riots now."
At the meeting of Likud ministers, Netanyahu referred to the coalition crisis surrounding the draft law, saying, "The draft law is good, we have to put it behind us, and the coalition must continue to work."

American pastor Andrew Brunson, who was released from a prison in Turkey on Friday, on Saturday met President Donald Trump and thanked him for the administration's work to free him.
The President introduced Brunson and praised his resilience throughout the two years he spent in jail.
"I just want to congratulate you because you have galvanized this country," Trump said, according to CNN. "There's so much interest, and it's your faith, it's your strength, what you've done, gone through."
Trump also thanked Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for facilitating Brunson's return.
"I do want to thank President Erdogan for making this possible," Trump said. "It wasn't easy, it wasn't easy for him."
After introducing his family, Brunson thanked Trump for working to negotiate his release "from the time you took office."
"We especially want to thank the administration, they really fought for us, unusually so," Brunson said, addressing the President. "From the time you took office, I know that you've been engaged."
Brunson also thanked Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Vice President Mike Pence, and Sens. Thom Thillis of North Carolina, Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and James Lankford of Oklahoma.
Brunson then prayed aloud for the President, asking that Trump be blessed with "supernatural wisdom" and "courage to stand for truth" and that he be protected "from slander from enemies and those who would undermine him."
"Thank you very much. Can I ask you one question?" Trump said after the blessing. "Who did you vote for?"
The group laughed, and the pastor assured Trump that he sent in an absentee ballot from Turkey voting for him.
The detention of the pastor, who was accused by Turkey of aiding terrorist groups, had been an ongoing source of tension between the US and Turkey.
Trump recently imposed sanctions on several Turkish officials and a 20 percent duty on aluminum and a 50 percent duty on steel in response to the continued imprisonment of Brunson.
In response, Turkey imposed tariffs on certain imports from the United States.
Trump recently told Reuters in an interview that he would not make any concessions to Turkey to gain Brunson's freedom, adding he was not concerned that retaliatory tariffs he imposed will have a ripple effect and hurt the European economy.
In response, Erdogan accused Washington of making "unlawful requests" regarding the pastor.
Brunson was released Friday after being detained in Turkey for two years. A Turkish court sentenced the pastor to three years and one month in prison but chose to release him based on his time already served as well as his manner during the proceedings.
There had been rumors that Brunson would be released after a secret deal was reached between the sides, but Trump denied that a deal had been in place.
"There was NO DEAL made with Turkey for the release and return of Pastor Andrew Brunson. I don't make deals for hostages. There was, however, great appreciation on behalf of the United States, which will lead to good, perhaps great, relations between the United States & Turkey!" he tweeted on Saturday.

Ronen Oz, who was critically injured in an arson attack at a Jerusalem motel in July, died of his wounds overnight at the Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer.
The Oz parents had come to Jerusalem with their two children to celebrate the 45th birthday of father Ronen. All of them were severely injured in the fire.
They were sleeping in a room of the motel when a fire suddenly broke out due to arson. The family slept on the first floor and apparently succeeded in escaping due to the father's resourcefulness.
An Arab resident of eastern Jerusalem arrested on suspicion of setting the motel on fire recounted the act to police investigators. An Arab woman originally from Shechem who now lives with her Jewish partner and two children in Jerusalem, was also involved in setting fire to the motel and was arrested in the course of the investigation into the affair.
2. GOLAN HEIGHTS CROSSING TO REOPEN MONDAY

The United Nations (UN), Israel, and Syria have agreed to reopen the Quneitra crossing between Israel and Syria in the Golan Heights on October 15.
The reopening is part of an ongoing effort of UN peacekeepers in the UN Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) to carry out their mandate, which includes maintaining the ceasefire between Israel and Syria.
UNDOF's mandate was established in a UN Security Council resolution as well as the 1974 Disengagement of Forces Agreement between Israel and Syria.
"The United States welcomes the reopening of this crossing, which will allow UN peacekeepers to step up their efforts to prevent hostilities in the Golan Heights region," US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley said. "We look to both Israel and Syria to provide UN peacekeepers the access they need as well as assurances of their safety."
"We also call on Syria to take the necessary steps so UNDOF can safely and effectively deploy and patrol without interference.
"While this is an important step, all sides must abide by the 1974 Agreement and keep any military forces other than UN peacekeepers out of the area."
3. DM: NO FUEL FOR GAZA UNTIL VIOLENCE ENDS

Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman (Yisrael Beytenu) on Saturday said that Israel will not provide fuel or gas to Gaza if conflicts continue.
Liberman halted the transfer of fuel to Gaza on Friday, after several Gaza terrorists who detonated a bomb on the Israel-Gaza border fence and attacked an IDF position inside Israel.
"As long as the violence in Gaza - including sending incendiary balloons and burning tires opposite Israeli towns - does not cease completely, we will not renew the provision of fuels and gas to Gaza," Liberman tweeted.
Earlier on Saturday, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh said that conflict would continue until Hamas' demands are met.
"Woe betide you if you cease the March of Return before the siege is lifted," Haniyeh told Gazans. "Our marches are not for the sake of fuel and money. They are our nation's natural right."
On Saturday morning, an explosive device was found attached to a balloon in an Israeli town in the Eshkol Region. The device was hidden in a carton and neutralized by a sapper. No one was injured and no damage was caused.
Earlier this week, Israel permitted Qatari-purchased fuel to enter Gaza in a bid to ease tensions in the region.
Gaza terrorists began sending incendiary kites and balloons into Israel in May, endangering lives, wasting precious water resources, burning tens of thousands of dunams of land, and causing millions of shekels in damage.
4. IDF MEDICAL FORCES IN ROMANIA FOR SPECIAL EXERCISE

Today, Sunday, a delegation of soldiers and officers from the IDF Medical Corps landed in Romania to participate in an international exercise which is held in cooperation with the European Union.
The delegation is comprised of 160 active duty and reserve medical and logistics personnel, who will simulate establishing a field hospital in an earthquake scenario as well as other on ground and airborne scenarios.
This is the most distant and largest exercise the IDF Medical Corps has conducted. The purpose of the exercise is to preserve the readiness and qualifications of the corps and in particular, the

Influential nationalist rabbi, Rabbi Eliezer Melamed, says the European Right is no longer anti-Semitic.
Rabbi Melamed wrote in his widely-read weekly column in Besheva Magazine Friday that Israel need not fear creating strong bonds with the European Right, including the Austrian Freedom Party, which is a member of the Austrian governing coalition.
Rabbi Melamed – who heads the Har Bracha Yeshiva in Samaria – explained that for many years, Israel's Foreign Ministry was wary of the European right wing parties, because they harbored Nazi supporters and Holocaust deniers.
"But in recent years, the extreme right wing movements have been undergoing a process of change," he added. "Leaders have emerged who want nothing to do with the racist Nazi heritage, and who openly support the state of Israel."
These leaders "have distilled the movements' nationalist positions, and now they express a proper position, which demands maintaining the European people's national, religious and cultural identity," the rabbi insisted.
Rabbi Melamed went on to say that "[j]ust as it is forbidden to steal the property of a private individual, as the communists did in the countries that they took over, so it is forbidden to steal from people their national and religious identity, as the communists' successors – the extreme liberals on the Left, like the British Labor party – seek to do."
Rabbi Melamed recounted that several leaders of the European Right, including Freedom Party head Heinz-Christian Strache, visited Israel several years ago. Strache visited Har Bracha and gave a speech that was "fervently Zionist" and which extolled the achievements of the Jewish state, describing it as a bulwark in defending Europe from Arab terror.
2. KANYE WEST CALLED "TOKEN NEGRO" ON CNN

A panelist on CNN's "Tonight with Don Lemon" called musician Kanye West "the token negro of the Trump administration."
Tuesday evening, less than two days before West was to meet with President Donald Trump at the White House to discuss prison reform and gang violence, Lemon asked if Trump is simply "using Kanye as a prop to win over black voters before the midterms."
CNN political commentator Bakari Sellers responded by smearing West. "Anti-intellectualism simply isn't cool," he said. "Kanye West is what happens when Negros don't read."
Fellow panelist Tara Setmayer – also a CNN political commentator – laughed and informed viewers that the derogatory remark is apparently an old reference to material by comedian Chris Rock.
"Black folks are about to trade Kanye West in the racial draft, OK. They've had it with him," Setmayer stated.
"This is not the Kanye West of 2004," she added. "Now all of the sudden because he's put on a MAGA hat and he's an attention whore like the president, he's all of the sudden the model spokesperson. He's the token negro of the Trump administration."
Setmayer went on to say that "no one should be taking Kanye West seriously" because he "clearly has issues."

A wave of corruption scandals, however, culminating in the impeachment of Rousseff have opened the door for less traditional, anti-establishment candidates.
Bolsonaro, who has often been compared to President Donald Trump, cemented the comparison Thursday when he expressed his admiration for the American president.
"I am an admirer of Trump," Bolsonaro said.
While the Workers' Party has compared him to Adolf Hitler, Bolsonaro has rejected claims he is aligned with the far-right, and has touted his support for the State of Israel.
Prior to the October 7th vote, Bolsonaro vowed to relocate the Brazilian embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, joining Guatemala and the United States in recognizing Jerusalem as the Israeli capital city.
Bolsonaro also called for the closure of the Palestinian Authority embassy in the Brazilian capital, Brasilia.
"Is Palestine a country? Palestine is not a country, so there should be no embassy here," Bolsonaro said. "You don't not negotiate with terrorists."
Polls suggest Bolsonaro's double-digit lead in the first round of voting will carry over into the run-off vote, scheduled for October 28th.
Bolsonaro beat Haddad by 17 points in the first round of voting, and according to a Datafolha poll released Wednesday night, 58% of Brazilian voters who said they were decided say they plan to vote for Bolsonaro in the run-off, giving the SLP candidate a 16-point margin of victory. Among all Brazilians, including undecideds, Bolsonaro led Haddad by 13 points, 49 to 36.
A second poll released Wednesday by the Idea Big Data polling agency showed Bolsonaro with a narrower lead of 54% to 46%.
A survey conducted by XP/Ipespe, however, gave Bolsonaro an 18-point lead over Haddad, 59 to 41.
Last month, Bolsonaro was attacked during a campaign event in Juiz de Fora, and was stabbed in the torso by Adelio Bispo de Oliveria, a member of the left-wing Socialism and Liberty Party. While Bolsonaro's wounds were initially described as light, his family later stated that he had suffered injuries to his liver, a lung, and his intestines, and would thus be unable to continue actively campaigning prior to the October 7th vote.

The IDF released footage Friday morning from the arrest of the 19-year-old Arab terrorist responsible for the stabbing attack near an army base Thursday afternoon.
Late Thursday night, Israeli security forces tracked down and captured the 19-year-old terrorist, a resident of the Palestinian Authority village of Jamma'in near Nablus (Shechem).
During the attack, the 19-year-old terrorist stabbed a 32-year-old IDF reservist near the Samaria Regional Brigade base.
The reservist was evacuated to Beilinson medical center in Petah Tikvah. His condition was defined as moderate-to-serious.
Samaria Regional Council head Yossi Dagan congratulated the IDF, the Shin Bet and the Yamam counterterrorism unit of the Border Police on the capture of the terrorist.
"I spoke to the commander of the Samaria Brigade, Col. Sagiv Dahan, and congratulated the IDF forces for the quick capture of the terrorist," Dagan said, adding, "I demand that the terrorist's family be expelled from Judea and Samaria tonight."
An IDF spokesperson said security forces were still working to track down the terrorist responsible for the shooting attack earlier this week at the Alon recycling plant in the Barkan industrial zone in Samaria.
According to the army, several suspects with ties to the terrorist were taken into custody.
In searches overnight, IDF and Border Police discovered an illegal handgun in the village of Ar-Ram south of Ramallah.
6. TWO WOUNDED IN STABBING ATTACK NEAR SAMARIA ARMY BASE

A 32-year-old IDF reserve soldier was wounded Thursday afternoon in a stabbing attack near the Samaria Regional Brigade base.
He was evacuated for medical treatment to Beilinson medical center in Petah Tikvah. His condition is defined as medium to serious.
According to reports, another 26-year-old Israeli woman who was in the area was also lightly wounded during fire at the terrorist.
The terrorist managed to escape from the scene and searches are underway to capture him.
An eyewitness to the attack said, "The terrorist stood next to the bus stop, picked up a huge knife, went into the station and stabbed him. Then I started to hear shots and I started to run from here."

Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman said, "Exceptional intelligence and operational work led to the capture of the terrorist, hours after the attack he carried out at the Samaria Regional Brigade. All these means and many others are re-focusing on the main task of capturing the despicable murderer from Barkan. The score with him will be settled soon as well."
Shomron Regional Council head Yossi Dagan congratulated the IDF, the Shin Bet and the Yamam counterterrorism unit of the Border Police on the capture of the terrorist who carried out the attack near the Shomron Regional Brigade base.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told Hamas that "it's not worth trying" to be terror tunnels after the IDF destroyed a tunnel extending deep into Israel on Thursday.
"Today we have uncovered another tunnel. We are systematically dismantling Hamas' tunnel capability, they have to understand that it is not worth trying us," Netanyahu said during a tour of an American destroyer anchored in the Ashdod port.
Netanyahu added that the tunnel neutralization showed that Israel is "determined to act against terrorism everywhere, to find the murderers, to find the terrorists - we are operating throughout the region - Syria, Gaza and many other places that I will not elaborate on with all the determination necessary to maintain Israel's security."
Netanyahu toured the destroyer along with the US ambassador to Israel David Friedman: "We are here for the first visit in 19 years of an American destroyer at the port of Ashdod," said Netanyahu. "There is significance to this visit. It symbolizes the deep covenant between Israel and the United States. "
"This destroyer is working against terrorism in Syria, and the alliance between Israel and the US is very tight in so many areas, especially in the security field. We are determined to act in order to defend ourselves against Iran's military buildup in Syria and its metastasis activity."
The Prime Minister added that "President Trump has given full support to our policy and the fact that this destroyer is visiting here today is an expression of that American support, and I think that message has been absorbed throughout the Middle East, and I think it has been absorbed even beyond the Middle East."
IDF forces destroyed a Gaza terror tunnel on Thursday that snaked 200 meters (220 yards) into Israel territory from the central Gaza Strip.
The IDF said that the tunnel was not adjacent to any of the Israeli communities near Gaza, and had been under surveillance until it's destruction.

Influential nationalist rabbi, Rabbi Eliezer Melamed, says the European Right is no longer anti-Semitic.
Rabbi Melamed wrote in his widely-read weekly column in Besheva Magazine Friday that Israel need not fear creating strong bonds with the European Right, including the Austrian Freedom Party, which is a member of the Austrian governing coalition.
Rabbi Melamed – who heads the Har Bracha Yeshiva in Samaria – explained that for many years, Israel's Foreign Ministry was wary of the European right wing parties, because they harbored Nazi supporters and Holocaust deniers.
"But in recent years, the extreme right wing movements have been undergoing a process of change," he added. "Leaders have emerged who want nothing to do with the racist Nazi heritage, and who openly support the state of Israel."
These leaders "have distilled the movements' nationalist positions, and now they express a proper position, which demands maintaining the European people's national, religious and cultural identity," the rabbi insisted.
Rabbi Melamed went on to say that "[j]ust as it is forbidden to steal the property of a private individual, as the communists did in the countries that they took over, so it is forbidden to steal from people their national and religious identity, as the communists' successors – the extreme liberals on the Left, like the British Labor party – seek to do."
Rabbi Melamed recounted that several leaders of the European Right, including Freedom Party head Heinz-Christian Strache, visited Israel several years ago. Strache visited Har Bracha and gave a speech that was "fervently Zionist" and which extolled the achievements of the Jewish state, describing it as a bulwark in defending Europe from Arab terror.
2. KANYE WEST CALLED "TOKEN NEGRO" ON CNN

A panelist on CNN's "Tonight with Don Lemon" called musician Kanye West "the token negro of the Trump administration."
Tuesday evening, less than two days before West was to meet with President Donald Trump at the White House to discuss prison reform and gang violence, Lemon asked if Trump is simply "using Kanye as a prop to win over black voters before the midterms."
CNN political commentator Bakari Sellers responded by smearing West. "Anti-intellectualism simply isn't cool," he said. "Kanye West is what happens when Negros don't read."
Fellow panelist Tara Setmayer – also a CNN political commentator – laughed and informed viewers that the derogatory remark is apparently an old reference to material by comedian Chris Rock.
"Black folks are about to trade Kanye West in the racial draft, OK. They've had it with him," Setmayer stated.
"This is not the Kanye West of 2004," she added. "Now all of the sudden because he's put on a MAGA hat and he's an attention whore like the president, he's all of the sudden the model spokesperson. He's the token negro of the Trump administration."
Setmayer went on to say that "no one should be taking Kanye West seriously" because he "clearly has issues."

In recent hours, IDF forces have neutralized a tunnel of terror in the central Gaza Strip. The IDF said that the tunnel penetrated some 200 meters (220 yards) into Israeli territory.
The IDF also noted that the tunnel was not adjacent to any of the Israeli communities near Gaza, and had been under surveillance until its neutralization today.
"We just destroyed a cross-border terror tunnel that infiltrated Israel from Gaza, built by Hamas with the aim of carrying out an attack on a nearby Israeli community, the IDF said on Twitter.
"This is the 15th tunnel we've destroyed in the last year."
The IDF said that the route of the tunnel was discovered as part of the ongoing technological, operational and intelligence efforts to locate and neutralize terror tunnels which began during Operation "Protective Edge" and have expanded over the last year.
An engineering operation led by the Southern Command, the Intelligence Directorate and MAF'AT (the Administration for the Development of Weapons and Infrastructure) neutralized the tunnel within Israeli territory.
Head of the IDF's International Press and New Media Branch, Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus, said following the demolition,"Beneath the Gaza Strip lies an underground Gaza – a tunnel network equivalent to the 'Subway'. Unfortunately, Hamas does not intend to build the world's next public transportation services. Rather, it uses underground Gaza for its abhorrent strategy to carry out lethal attacks against Israeli civilians."
"Hamas abuses the resources intended to aid the residents of Gaza, using them to construct offensive military infrastructure that seeks to violate Israeli sovereignty and threatens Israeli citizens— whether via violent protests along the security fence or by firing mortars and rockets into Israeli territory. We will continue to fulfill the mission of protecting our territory."

3. US STUDENT CHALLENGES ISRAELI ENTRY BAN IN COURT

A US student banned from entering Israel for supporting a boycott of the country appeared in court on Thursday to challenge the decision.
Lara Alqasem, 22, arrived at Israel's Ben-Gurion airport on October 2 to study for a master's degree at Hebrew University in Jerusalem, but was not allowed to enter.
She has been allowed to remain in a room at the airport, choosing to challenge the entry ban rather than fly back to the United States.
A hearing was being held on her case in Tel Aviv district court on Thursday.
In March 2017, Israel's parliament passed a law banning the entry of supporters of the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
Alqasem, who claims to be descended from Palestinian Authority (PA) Arabs, served as president of a chapter of the anti-Israel Students for Justice in Palestine while an undergraduate student at the University of Florida.
The group has supported boycott campaigns against Israel.
Alqasem claimed she that she does not support BDS, saying that if she did, she "wouldn't be able to come to Israel as a student."
Israeli media has quoted her mother, Karen Alqasem, as saying that she had enrolled for a one-year master's course in human rights at Hebrew University, for which she had an Israeli visa.
The United States said Wednesday it supports freedom of expression and that its embassy in Jerusalem was offering Alqasem consular assistance.
"As a general principle, we value freedom of expression even in cases where we don't agree with the political views expressed and this is such a case," State Department deputy spokesman Robert Palladino told reporters.
"Our strong opposition to the boycotts and sanctions of the state of Israel is well-known," he said.
"Israel is a sovereign nation that can determine who enters."
Israeli Strategic Affairs Minister Gilad Erdan has said that he would consider allowing Alqasem to take up her university place if she publicly denounces BDS.
4. THE NARROWEST STREET IN PRAGUE

If you go to Prague on one of the main streets you may miss a small alley that's known as the "narrowest street in the world".
The small street, whose width ranges from 60 cm to the 70 cm wide at its widest point, may not be particularly inviting, but it's worth trying to pass through it and maybe even skip breakfast for it.
The street was actually built decades ago as an escape route to help local residents in the event of a fire, and after a while the passage became a "street". Since the passage is so narrow, there's no possibility for pedestrians to come from both directions.
To prevent traffic jams, the municipality set up a traffic light for pedestrians so only one party can pass to the other side at a time. Over time, the transition became a tourist attraction and many travelers love to be photographed getting stuck in the alley or standing next to the pedestrian traffic light.
Those who make it through the street will have an amazing view of the city and a small restaurant next to it. It's customary to warn everyone who arrives via the street not to eat too much in the restaurant so they can return later and not get stuck crossing the narrow pathway.
Although the place is famous as "the narrowest street in the world", it didn't enter the Guinness Book of World Records because it's not really a street. This still doesn't prevent the place from being famous and causing people to skip breakfast to try it out.

5. 2 CHILDREN KILLED IN APARTMENT FIRE LAID TO REST

Two-year-old Tzvi Ginzburg and his four-year-old sister Efrat, who were killed in a fire that broke out in their home in Beitar Illit, were laid to rest Wednesday in Jerusalem, side by side.
The family is currently living in a temporary apartment until the restoration of their apartment, which was completely burned down.
The investigation, which opened after the disaster, shows that a fallen lamp apparently caused the fire. The parents had gone to a family event in Jerusalem and their five children remained at home. In one room there were three sisters aged 11, 9 and 6, and in the other room were Tzvi and Efrat.
A neighbor who lives nearby was asked to take care of the children and occasionally entered the Ginzburg apartment to make sure everything was alright.
When the fire broke out, the three sisters fled to the apartment of neighbor Dvora Indorsky and asked in horror, "Where are our siblings?" Indorsky told Yediot Aharonot that "They were frightened and black with coal. I went out to the balcony and shouted to the neighbors, 'Fire, come help.'
Neighbors and volunteers at ZAKA and United Hatzalah tried to enter the site, but the fire and thick smoke did not allow them to approach the burning house. Firefighters rescued some of the residents trapped in the building, but at that time the two little children were no longer alive.
The focus of the fire was in the room where the siblings had perished. "The apartment was completely burned down, the fire was strong, the chances of survival were nil," said firefighting services investigations commander Ran Shelef, who heads a team to examine the circumstances of the disaster. According to Shelef, when the call to firefighters came, at 9:08 pm, the children were no longer alive.

US President Donald Trump has accepted US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley's resignation.
Ambassador Haley discussed her resignation with President Trump when they met at the White House last week, according to Axios.
The resignation has reportedly shocked the Washington Foreign Policy establishment.
Ambassador Haley has been an outspoken critic of the UN's corruption, bias, and inability to deal with human rights crisis around the world. She was also Israel's biggest supporter at the UN.
The ambassador said that her service at the UN "has been the honor of a lifetime."
Haley criticized Trump's rhetoric during the 2016 Presidential Election and endorsed his rival Marco Rubio for the Republican nomination. Her relationship with Trump improved after the election and she was offered the post of Ambassador to the United Nations.
The ambassador has stated that she is unafraid to criticize the president in private meetings with him.
Sources in the White House stated that Trump said Haley would leave at the end of the year and that she would be "taking a break."
Haley stated that she will not run in the next presidential election and that she will be campaigning for Trump's reelection in 2020.
During a live announcement of the resignation, Trump said Ambassador Haley "has been very special to me" and "a fantastic person."
"She is somebody who gets it. She has been at the United Nations from the beginning with us and worked with us," Trump said.
"She told me six months ago, she said: 'You know, maybe at the end of the year I want to take a little time off."
Turning to Haley, Trump said "hopefully you'll be coming back at some point, maybe in a different capacity."
He praised Haley for "knowing all the players" at the UN. "She got to know China, Russia, India. She knows everybody on a first name basis and they like her ... And maybe more importantly, they respect her."
Haley pointed to her accomplishments over the last to years. "Now, the United States is respected. Countries may not like what we do, but they respect what we do. They know that if we say we're going to do something, we follow it through."
"We've cut $1.3 billion in the UN's budget. We've made it stronger, we've made it more efficient. South Sudan, we got an arms embargo, which was a long time coming. Three North Korean sanctions packages, which were the largest in a generation, done in a way that we could really work towards denuclearizing North Korea. The Iran deal, bringing attention to the world that every country needs to understand, you can't overlook the all of the bad things that they're doing. You have to see them for the threat that they are.
She drew attention to the relocation of the US embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. "I think when you look at the anti-Israel bias and the strength and courage that the president showed in moving the embassy and showing the rest of the world: 'we will put our embassy where we want to put our embassy."

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and other Israeli leaders from across the political spectrum, thanked outgoing US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley for her support following her surprise resignation Tuesday.
"I thank Ambassador Nikki Haley, who led an uncompromising struggle against the hypocrisy of the United Nations and the truth and justice of our country. Best of luck!" Netanyahu said.
President Reuven Rivlin said: "I would like to thank Nikki Haley, a true ambassador, from the bottom of our hearts and on behalf of all the citizens of Israel. Haley presented an uncompromising stance on US positions on the Middle East and Israel, and defended our clear right to protect the security of our citizens. Haley, in her direct statements, often led to the removal of the cynical mask from processes led by the United Nations and international organizations."
"I thank Mrs. Haley for her courage and for her tenure as a turning point in the US attitude toward the international organizations and for the discriminatory treatment that these organizations often take against the State of Israel," the president added.
"We will continue to see Nikki as a true friend and we will be happy to receive her at the President's Residence on her next visit to Israel," Rivlin concluded.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Wednesday warned Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu against changing the status quo of the Golan Heights, Sputnik reported.
According to Lavrov, "Any change in the status of the Golan Heights which comes without the United Nations Security Council's approval is a violation of existing agreements."
On Monday, Netanyahu stressed the importance of the Golan Heights to the State of Israel.
"We see today what is happening on the other side of the border, Iran's military buildup and the aggression of the terror fanatics, against which we will continue to stand firm and determined," he said.
"Israel on the Golan is a guarantee of the stability of the space around us. Israel's presence on the Golan is a fact that the international community must recognize, and as long as it depends on me, the Golan, will always remain under Israeli sovereignty, because otherwise we will accept Iran and Hezbollah on the shores of the Kinneret."
"Iran and Hezbollah are constantly trying to establish a force against us that will act against the Golan Heights and the Galilee, and as long as it depends on me, we will continue to thwart this. We will continue to act decisively against Iran's attempts to develop another front against us in the Golan and Syria and we will act against its attempts to deliver deadly weapons to Hezbollah in Lebanon."
Emphasizing the close relationship between himself and Russian President Vladimir Putin, Netanyahu said, "I know that President Putin understands my commitment to Israel's security, and I know that he also understands the importance I attach to the Golan Heights, which we all attribute to the Golan Heights and the heritage of Israel."

1. TERROR TUNNEL EXTENDING INTO ISRAEL NEUTRALIZED

In recent hours, IDF forces have neutralized a tunnel of terror in the central Gaza Strip. The IDF said that the tunnel penetrated some 200 meters (220 yards) into Israeli territory.
The IDF also noted that the tunnel was not adjacent to any of the Israeli communities near Gaza, and had been under surveillance until its neutralization today.
"We just destroyed a cross-border terror tunnel that infiltrated Israel from Gaza, built by Hamas with the aim of carrying out an attack on a nearby Israeli community, the IDF said on Twitter.
"This is the 15th tunnel we've destroyed in the last year."
The IDF said that the route of the tunnel was discovered as part of the ongoing technological, operational and intelligence efforts to locate and neutralize terror tunnels which began during Operation "Protective Edge" and have expanded over the last year.
An engineering operation led by the Southern Command, the Intelligence Directorate and MAF'AT (the Administration for the Development of Weapons and Infrastructure) neutralized the tunnel within Israeli territory.
Head of the IDF's International Press and New Media Branch, Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus, said following the demolition,"Beneath the Gaza Strip lies an underground Gaza – a tunnel network equivalent to the 'Subway'. Unfortunately, Hamas does not intend to build the world's next public transportation services. Rather, it uses underground Gaza for its abhorrent strategy to carry out lethal attacks against Israeli civilians."
"Hamas abuses the resources intended to aid the residents of Gaza, using them to construct offensive military infrastructure that seeks to violate Israeli sovereignty and threatens Israeli citizens— whether via violent protests along the security fence or by firing mortars and rockets into Israeli territory. We will continue to fulfill the mission of protecting our territory."

An Israeli was wounded Thursday afternoon in a stabbing attack near the Samaria Regional Brigade base, according to preliminary reports. His condition is defined as light.
According to reports, another Israeli woman who was in the area was also lightly wounded during fire at the terrorist.
The terrorist managed to escape from the scene and searches are underway to capture him.
An eyewitness to the attack said, "The terrorist stood next to the bus stop, picked up a huge knife, went into the station and stabbed him. Then I started to hear shots and I started to run from here."

3. US STUDENT CHALLENGES ISRAELI ENTRY BAN IN COURT

A US student banned from entering Israel for supporting a boycott of the country appeared in court on Thursday to challenge the decision.
Lara Alqasem, 22, arrived at Israel's Ben-Gurion airport on October 2 to study for a master's degree at Hebrew University in Jerusalem, but was not allowed to enter.
She has been allowed to remain in a room at the airport, choosing to challenge the entry ban rather than fly back to the United States.
